After the feast, which wasn't as good as the one in Lord Ozzie's, we were shown to our room. Everyone shared a very large room on the third storey (or the attic). The bed were made of straw though but the blankets had been made by Rose and were very warm. I couldn't sleep though, I kept thinking about what Payton had said to me. I didn't understand. How could he be my brother? My parents had never mentioned him and I don't remember him but he claims to know me. Someone sighed behind me and I turned to see Kelsey staring out the window and seemed to be in deep thought.

I got up and began to tiptoe towards her so that I wouldn't wake anyone up. When I got beside her I put a hand on her shoulder. She jumped,

"Oh, did I wake you up? Sorry." she whispered. I shook my head and sat down beside her.

"What's wrong?" I asked. "I've never seen you look so worried."

"It's just-" she paused as if deciding that she should go on, then continued, "I'm worried about Josh. I don't know if he is OK or-" she didn't finish her sentence and she didn't need to. I knew that she thought Josh might be dead.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. Lord Ozzie wouldn't have chosen him if he hadn't been a good fighter." I assured her. This seemed to cheer her up a bit but she changed the subject.

"Jade, why are you up?"

I didn't want to tell her about Payton. I don't really know why, I just didn't.

"I um.... I just didn't get comfortable." I lied.

"If you want to take the straw from my bed and add it to your own, you can." she offered.

"No thanks Kelsey, you need it. You need to get some sleep. I don't know what we'll be facing tomorrow."

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks Jade. See you in the morning." She got into her bed and didn't say another word. I stayed where I was for a moment then I stepped over Niall, lay down in my own bed and after another few minutes of mentally questioning what Payton had said, I fell asleep.
