Something had changed but I couldn't put my finger on it.  Other than Somer and I hanging out more and going to each other's places for homework, nothing more had changed. We managed to get inside jokes. Even if it was temporary, Fresno finally felt like a place I could call home.

The town was huge but it felt so tiny sometimes. I had already seen people in different stores that were far from campus. But that could be because Edison bussed kids from all over town.

"Hey, what do you think about this," Somer said as she slid the paper my way.

Looking at how she set up the scene, I nodded. Everyone else nodded with me. For our assignment, we had to redo something from freshman year. Since our teacher was a freshman and senior teacher, she wanted it easier for her so she didn't have to worry about creating a new assignment.

"Which do you want to be in charge of? I got the script down, we chose that yesterday and I'm sure if there's something I need to change, I can figure it out tomorrow and make it three minutes or less. Who is gonna do the blocking and who wants to bring props?" Somer asked as she looked at all of us.

She's one hell of a leader. I'm sure she took control in all of her classes. My eyes couldn't stray from her because of how powerful she seemed.

"I can do the blocking. I took two years of theater," I said.

"I can help you with that," Brandon quickly volunteered.

"We can see what props we can bring," Julie said. She put her hand out to point to Briana.

"Okay. I'll be back," Somer announced, getting up.

As she walked out of the room with the hall pass, we all got to work on our parts of the assignment. The girls walked back to their desks and discussed whatever. I knew they weren't going to talk about the props until Somer came back. She really held the group together.

Where did the girl even go?

"Hey, I uh, I have a question."

"Yeah?" I absentmindedly asked as I looked down at the script. "Wait a minute there, you thief" I mumbled.

"I heard you were bi. That means you also like guys, right?" Brandon whispered.

I paused. Was he another homophobe? Sighing, I nodded. I guess I was going to have to ignore him. He was a nice guy too.

"Uh, well...so am I," he whispered again.

"And I care because?"

"Can you quiet down?"

"Sorry, and I care because?" I whispered back. Was I too loud the last time?

"Well, because I think you're-"

"If you're lying, I'll beat your ass," I said underneath my breath, too afraid of the teacher overhearing. Not about me threatening him but mainly about me cussing. She liked to write people up over the smallest things.

"I'm not. I promise. I just, I thought I might shoot my shot while we're in a group together."

Looking at Brandon, he didn't look that bad. He fit within my liking. I couldn't see myself dating anyone at the moment but I could see myself talking to someone. Relationships were fuzzy to me and I didn't really want to be in one. Maybe we could talk.

"Just message me tonight." I doubt he's serious.
