Days had past, with not one episode in sight. Annabelle had been getting up and going to work early everyday to catch up on missed appointments.
Like clock work James would great her with lunch and a coffee in the afternoon. Not wanting to question the sudden attention Annabelle thrived off it, always making her day bearable and exciting.
James was in constant contact with Wanda and Natasha, finding out as much as they could about Annabelle. Most of Annabelle's history seemed to have been lost when she went into the foster system.
Amongst everything, Steve was constantly calling James for his assistance at the compound. After using every excuse he could think of James resulted in ignoring the calls. He wasn't ready to leave Annabelle by herself and knew they would most likely be there this weekend.
Opening the door to her apartment after a long week Annabelle felt her phone vibrate in her pocket, throwing her bags and shoes down at the door way she reached in and pulled out her phone. Answering the call Annabelle did a quick sweep over the house to make sure her boyfriend wasn't going to come yelling out.
"What did I do now?" she jokingly questioned, knowing that usually when her brother would call out of the blue she was in trouble for something.
"For once, your not the one in trouble" Steve laughed out. "I actually need your help"
"go on"
Listening in carefully Annabelle was questioning what the heck her brother would need her help with, he was 'Captain America' surly he had people to help him.
"Do you know a Claire Green? it says she went to your school"
"Ah -Yeah, she was in a lot of my classes. I haven't seen her since the start of senior year though, how come?"
"Any chance you can come to the compound this weekend? I know you're busy with work but this can't be done over the phone"
"I'll be there. Should I be worried?"
"No, no need to be worried, ill explain it all when you get here" Steve calmed his voice, realising how panicked Annabelle can get.
"Oh and on the way can you check up on Bucky? He has been avoiding my calls and we really need his expertise. Even if you have to drag him here by his pony tail"
"I'll see what I can do, see you soon" Annabelle chuckled out.
Falling into the couch she let out the breath she didn't realising she was holding, how did he know Claire Green and why couldn't he tell her anything over the phone.
Pickeing up her phone again Annabelle dialled James, realising she had no clue where he could be. The phone rang a few times before going to voice mail. She tried again and same thing. Suppressing her slight worry Annabelle headed into the bedroom to pack.
Dropping the bags she packed at the door she did a run through the apartment double checking she's got everything, reaching into her back pocket she pulled out her phone, deciding to try James again, this time he answered his phone on the first ring.
"Hey Doll, is everything okay? you rung me a few times"
"Yeah I'm fine, why didn't you answer?" Her tone coming off more cold then she expected.
"Its Friday afternoon Doll. I have my new therapy sessions Friday afternoons, remember?"
"Oh shit, I forgot. Sorry babe, how was it?" She felt so stupid forgetting something so important and being annoyed that he was ignoring her.
"it was therapy Doll" He spoke through a chuckle, he always hated going but it was one of the conditions of his pardon from when he was the Winter Soldier. "wait, did you just call be babe?"
