James was constantly keeping an eye Annabelle throughout the party, keeping his distance when she was speaking to her dad or having sometime with the girls, but always making sure she was okay.
Flashing of smiles where exchanged across the room as reassurance she was okay. He couldn't help but feel responsible and guilty for her episode, being with the boys instead of her.
Watching the bar as Annabelle was listening to Alex ramble on about something she was clearly not interested in the music changed to her favourite Christmas carol.
Sam had been her dance partner for as long as she could remember but looking over to him he gave her a soft smile and wink, letting her know it was okay to dance with James.
Picking up James' hand, they walked towards the centre of the dance floor. Throwing her arms around his neck she gazed into his beautiful blue eyes.
James slide his metal arm around her waist pulling her in closer, using his other hand to pull her hand down into his.
"If we're going to slow dance, we are going to do it properly this time."
A tear filled up in Annabelle's eyes as she leant her head on his chest, this moment, right here is all she has thought about since her first Stark Christmas when she was 17.
To dance to her favourite Christmas carol, in the middle of the dance floor with the love of her life, wrapped up and safe in his arms. Allowing her self to melt into the moment. Forgetting all of their worries.
As the song faded off she peeled her head away from his chest, looking up at him through her eyelashes with such adoration and love. James mirrored her expression, feeling warm and content with this moment, he leant down. Placing a deep and passionate kiss into Annabelle's lips, seconds later Annabelle reciprocated the kiss, getting lost in the passion.
Silence fell over the room before whispers set in from the gossiping on lookers. Swiftly jolting out of the lust filled moment, they realised their error.
Annabelle looked up at James, both wide eyed in shock bracing themselves. When nothing happened they looked around couldn't neither Tony or Steve where in sight.
Catching Natasha's gave they started walking over. Her face was as white as ever with her hand pressed against her month in shock. Guests started to scurry out of the building knowing it will be safer to leave.
James slide his hand into Annabelle's as a sign of comfort and to remind her he wasn't going anywhere. They approached the group that is now Natasha, Wanda, Sam, Maria and Alex.
"By the looks on your faces our luck has run out? Steve and Tony noticed?"
"Oh honey!" Wanda said placing her hand on Annabelle's shoulder. "Everyone noticed. Although I don't think Tony was here" She added on.
Letting out a half sigh of relief she turned to Natasha with a puppy face of innocents, wanting to know how bad it is.
"He wasn't even looking, but then big mouth over here pointed out how cute you guys where" Natasha shot a glare over towards Alex.
Steve was so distracted by his own romantic moment that he didn't take notice on what everyone was obsessing over. Then Alex decided to open her month to Maria about how cute of a couple they where and they need to just tell Steve and go public.
Steve over heard, whipping his head around trying to find Annabelle, coincidently he found them as they started locking lips.
"Its not like you where hiding it very well" Alex chimed in as Maria escorted her out of the room.
