Annabelle Rogers - James 'Bucky' Barnes

Chapter Thirty - Eight

The morning of her birthday Annabelle was greeted by two very egar girls jumping on the bed. Covering her in glitter and bubbles. Wanda handed Annabelle a plate with cinnamon waffles, ice-cream and fresh strawberries. Falling down next to her.

Low key wasn't very much their style with Annabelle, everyone was to excited to spend her day with her again. After everything she has gone through she deserved to be spoiled.

Handing her a small pink envelope with hand drawn hearts covering the paper, Annabelle revealed a certificate for a spa day. Looking up at the girls with blissful eyes and a sweet smile she said a silent thank you.

"I know you said low key but I can't think of anyone who deserves this more then you A.B" Wanda gushed, stroking Annabelle's arm. "You are the most caring and loving friend -"

"And best sister in-law" Natasha added.

"We couldn't imagine life with out you, this is the only day that is all yours. Let us spoil you."

Tears streamed down each of their faces as they embraced in a group hug on the glitter covered bed. Wanting in on the emotion and embrace Sam and Thor both jumped on the bed, throwing their arms around the girls.

"You're right Sam. Being a girl is fun"

Once the sticky relationship was cleared up between Thor and Annabelle he really adapted to being a really close friend, always chiming in on the gossip and tagging along on girls day out.

Sam was proving himself worthy again not spilling any gossip or secrets, at least not the important ones. They had really become a tight group of five. With the occasional tag along from Steve.

"I will never get over this weird bond you all have." He chocked out, leaning up against the door frame. "Once you girls are done, I would like a moment with my sister." Annabelle head popped up between the embrace, looking over at her brother she noticed a calm and sweet expression on his face.

One last tight embrace and the group scattered, Natasha gave a swift warning to Steve reminding him not to take to long. Annabelle had to get ready for their spa day togeather.

Sitting down on the bed next Annabelle he noticed all of the glitter, deciding to move to chair instead. Not wanting to sparkle for the next week. Holding onto his sisters hand he handed her a medium sized box, wrapped in pink and white wrapping paper.

"I know you didn't want presents but I missed the last 3 birthdays, I had to do something."

Tearing off the paper and opening the box, a warm smile spread across her face. A fresh pair of army grade boots where sitting on top, underneath was a set of black cargo pants and bullet proof vest. A novelty book laid down the bottom that read. 'How to be a badass 101'.As far as unwanted birthday presents go she was impressed.

After long internal battle with herself, Annabelle decided not long before her birthday that she was not going to join the Avengers, she wanted something a little less 'look at me, look at me'.

Having a meeting with Nick Furry last week he approached her about joining the newly established SHEILD.

It wasn't what she imagined her life to be like but she was happy and felt like she was making a difference. Wrapping her brother in a thankful hug she dismissed him to get ready. Having a quick shower to freshen up before throwing on a spring outfit.

A loose flow maxi skirt covered in delicate sun flowers, paired with a tied up shirt and sandals. Keeping it simple at light knowing she will be in a rob for most of the day. Shoving her bikini swimmers into a bag with a book, sunglasses and phone she scurried down stairs.

Pushing through the large glass door a gust of spring air kissed her skin as a black limo pulled up in front of her. There really was no low key happening today she realised. Pouring glasses of champagne the girls drove off down the dirt road towards their destination.

The ride was sweet and bubbly, everyone calm and stress free. Pulling up into the spa the girls thanked Happy before heading in. In true Stark style Tony had booked out the salon for the day, he had become more protective then usual over his daughter and wanted her day uninterrupted.

Cold stone walls guided them down the hall towards the hot spring baths. Ducking into the small changing room the girls got changed into their flawless bikinis, only to be pulled away from their praises by two echoing deep laughs.

Exchanging looks they peered out to see that the commotion was all about. They where just informed they had the place to themselves so who was in here making so much noise.

"You have got to be kidding me" Annabelle squealed out. "What are you boys doing here?"

"We are no longer boys, we are girls."

"And this is girls day is it not?"

Thor and Sam both flicked their 'hair' back with complete sass. Soaking up the warmth of the hot spring water. Exchanging sarcastic looks the girls climbed in with them. To no ones surprise Annabelle was wedged between the two well built men.

Spring sun beamed down on their skin as a staff member brought over another round of mimosas. Notifying Annabelle that her full body service will be ready in 10. A deep scrub, full body massage, facial and a mani, pedi. Something her body was screaming for after the endless days and weeks of training.

Excusing herself from the group Annabelle disappeared behind the stone walls, excited to melt away for the next two hours.

Natasha and Wanda had organised themselves a full body massaged and facial but wheren't booked in for another 30 minutes. Allowing them time with the boys.

"Does she know yet?" Sam questioned Natasha and Wanda, who in return gave him a puzzled look. "That Bucky is back in New York?"

"He's back? - She hasn't said anything."

"I thought he ran back to Wakanda?"

"He was but Tony and Steve ran into him the other day. Tony actually apologised for how he acted, invited him back to the compound"

Sitting back stunned the girls processed this new information. Did Annabelle know? Was she getting that good at hiding things from them. He better not ruin her birthday.

Arriving at the perfect time Wanda and Natasha where swept away into the pampering rooms, followed by Sam and Thor who decided they might as well experience a full spa day with the girls.
