Hoya POV
I found you.
I pecked her cheek and then beamed at her. We gazed at each other for a minute or two and then we continued our homeroom period. I always glanced at her every chance I got and it made me smile when she smiled while reading her book. Raven's eyes sparkled as she scanned the pages and flipped them so elegantly. I marked her mine twice and now no one can touch her, not even the guys can graze their fingertips on her pearl skin.
For English, we had a pre-essay to finish before Friday. Curse you essays. I stuffed the papers back into my messy backpack and decided just to wait out the last two minutes of homeroom. I looked at Raven smile at the book and her eyelids were ready to close. I poked the side of her head and she glared at me playfully. I held in my laugh and she poked my ribs.
OW! I mouthed as I rubbed my ribs. She covered her smiling mouth and laughed silently. I ruffled her hair and Raven pouted cutely. I grinned from ear to ear as she went back to her book, ignoring my pokes here and there. After what seemed like two seconds, two minutes past and lunch break had began. The bell rang and I pushed my chair in, heading out with Raven.
"So," I started. She looked at me as she walked by my side. I gazed to her hazel eyes in awe and hit something. I saw stars as I frowned at the pole in front of me. Raven held in her laugh for quite some time until she couldn't keep quiet and she laughed belly over like Dongwoo. Birds flew in a circle above my head like a halo as I blinked, still frowning.
"Are you alright?" Raven asked me between laughs. I nodded and shook my head to straighten my view. "Anyways, you were saying something?" she asked me after she stopped laughing.
"So," I started again. She nodded for me to go on. "I was going to ask you why you lied to me last night."
Raven's smile faded as she looked at me and then the floor. She shuffled her blue converse on the concrete in obvious shame. I crouched and looked up at her face, looking really small. Raven smiled and then stopped again.
"Well?"
"I lied because you lied that night that you loved me." I frowned at her in confusion. Raven stared deep into my brown eyes as I stared back into her hazel ones.
"I never lied that I loved you," I whispered. She looked away and walked around me, passing me. I stood up and caught up to her side.
"That night, you left me after you said you loved me," she explained as we walked. "If you did love me that night, you would have stayed with me."
"I had no choice but to leave!" I widened my eyes after I finally understood everything. "The pain in my side thanks to the car crash forced me back into myself!"
"IS THE PAIN OF THE CAR CRASH MORE THAN THE PAIN IN MY HEART? MY CHEST?" she yelled, fear and anger in her eyes as she glared at me. I looked down in sadness and sighed.
"I'm sorry.. but we found each other now," I pointed out. Raven glared at the floor and then me again, fury in her eyes.
"WHY COULD'NT YOU FIND ME AGAIN SEVEN YEARS AGO?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG I WAS LOOKING FOR YOU?! HOW DARE YOU EVER EVEN SAY SORRY IN FRONT OF MY FACE! DON'T YOU FEEL SHAME IN YOUR HEART AT ALL? ARE YOU THAT COLD?!" she yelled at me, panting. My almost mended heart sank into my stomach and I hugged her as she started wailing into my chest again. I laid my head in the crook of her shoulder and her neck and hugged her even tighter.
"I don't expect you to forgive me... but...
...I still love you."
I let go of her, Raven's puffy eyes looking at me sadly.
