...Good, everyone's asleep, time to move. Picking up my bag, I left a note behind so that my family wouldn't worry. I wanted to take a nice walk in the forest, even though it is not my first trip, it beats the smell of the polluted air in all honesty. But, it's also mainly because of Pop's promoting me as the new leader in the group out of practically nowhere. Since then, not much has changed except; now my brothers as well as April look up to me to lead or to just plan. It's making my scales crawl, making me tenser, as usual, I can't even bring myself to make a joke to lighten the air. I don't know how Raph does it.
After my jumps and hurdles on the rooftops of the city, I finally made it to my destination; The forest. There's not a single noise from cars nor any artificial lights piercing through the night, all there is the sound of crickets and the fireflies lighting the darkness. It's perfect. Lately, I've been meditating more frequently and my brothers tell me that I've been rather quiet, well, zen and that I rarely tell any jokes nowadays.
It started here when I was over-pressured by everything that I ran from the city. It took all of my energy to even get this far before I collapsed into an emotional breakdown when my shell was being coated by the cold soil. That's when I met (Y/N), a pixie who lives in this very forest...
~ Flashback ~
...I can't do this anymore, I just can't. Tonight's patrol was a mess, and it's all because of me! "I can't go back to them, I'll just disappoint them even more. I let everybody down. It's all my fault...", I muttered out in between a few hiccups here and there. They all looked up to me. They trusted me. and I let them all down. As I ran deeper into the forest, the rain pours even harder. I let out a shaky breath before my legs finally give up on me, despite my best attempts to even get up. I think I tripped over something and fractured my ankle, looking back, it could be just my footing.
