Back to present Fuad and Zayba.
After a year of knowing each other, and to some extent has believed Fuad could take good care of her, as he had proved that by taking care of her needs even before marriage,
He insisted on paying her school fees, and everything she needed money for, he changed her wardrobe regularly, he subscribed her phone monthly, he pays her allowance for being herself, so he had said, to him it was just a token,
But five hundred thousand Naira monthly for being yourself is what every woman would want, he takes her out and pay the bills, if he smells any problem, before she speaks he takes care of it, indeed he's a good man, just the man she needed,
every woman wants a man who would do this and more, even her family will embrace him and say "indeed you can take care of our daughter."
What more does she need, a man who clears her problems right in time, before she even speak about it, a man who makes her feel like a queen, he gets everything done for her, he's amazing.
Families had become allies, Fuad could not wait as he'd always say "what are we waiting for? let's get married already."
And Zayba will only be like "we still need to be ready, this is a lifetime commitment, not something to play about."
To Fuad, a year of togetherness, was enough , he wanted to even marry her before then, he pushed so hard for the wedding to hold, as Zayba was done with her degree, and has served the Nation.
Fuad thought it would be better to make it special, it seemed she wanted it done the special way too. So he took her out to shifu lounge, and thank God the people there were scanty , they needed a little privacy.
"Zayba I've always wanted to marry you since the day I saw you at your house, I've always felt like you're my wife, But I don't know what you're still waiting for, will you please be my wife?"
The man knelt down, as he spoke with all seriousness, his chest was ballooning from his heavy breath and heart beating so fast.
She squealed as her palms met her mouth, her eyes twinkled with joy as a tear dropped from it, and she let out an "Of course yes,." She grinned and pleaded with him to sit.
"Thank you so much Zayba, I lack words to show this appreciation and happiness, I knew it was going to be a yes, but I never knew when you'll be ready, are you ready now? Can I send my Kinsmen already?"
The woman smilingly said "I'll talk to mama about it, and I'll let you know when it is scheduled."
The man grinned and then ordered food, they took silly selfies, ate and left the place, with this huge grin never leaving the Man's face, Zayba's expression will be rather called shy, she hardly made eye contact with him, but yet the corners of her lips were lifted, she was happy too.
Zayba
On a cold Saturday morning Zayba stayed awake after subhi prayers, she had prayed and prayed nawafil for the step she's about to take, and now to confront her parents with.
She said a little prayer again, in front of her Momma's door, and greeted, "Assalamualaikum."
Momma replied as supposed to , Zayba hugged her momma, and said "good morning momma, how was your night?"
"It was fine, how about yours."
"Fine too, quite short, I've been praying about this marriage thing, I don't want to make a lifetime mistake."
"I understand that child, there's this fear that's always attached to getting married, but trust me you'll get over it, Fuad is from a trusted home, hopefully you won't have a problem, inshaAllah."
"InshaAllah Mama." The lady heaved a sigh and proceeded with the talking.
"Mama he has asked to send his Kinsmen over, that he wants to have the wedding soon."
"I see, men seem to not have patience as much as they should, but that's great news, but do you think you're ready?"
"I think I am, I'll just leave every fear in Allah's hands."
"Good. He can send them in next weekend when your Dad will be home, inshaAllah."
"Okay."
Zayba dismissed herself, and went back to her room, called Fuad and let him know about the information she got, he was pleased and could not wait for the weekend.
