Yay! Thank you for hundred followers!!! 😍🥰🤗🌹

She collected the briefcase and asked "who is the tough one here?" Of course Hibba went, and she had no place in it, chioma, farida and the rest of the girls moved closer so nobody cheats.

The briefcase was full of a thousand Naira notes of about five hundred thousand, the girls sat in one of the cars and shared the money equally among themselves.

Mama held her bride's hand, that was embroidered with red henna, mama had always loved red henna, the gold bangles in Zayba's hand clicked and made melodic sounds that caught people's attention.

"Ina yini hajiya." (Good day ma.)

"Shush! Save all of that greetings for later, all I need you to do is stay happy and feel at home."

Zayba nodded, as she moved with Mama out of the car, the bride wore an atampa of mixed colors, a wrapper and blouse, the blouse was embroided with little stones that made it shine, like hajiya's, a black flat shoe, and a baby pink khimar that covered her face and neck and fell on her shoulders to her knee,

Mama took her black hand bag with her, held her by her shoulder and took her to the room that was made hers in the house.

The relatives, the families and friends all wanted to stay in the same room as Zaybah, a population of a hundred people or more in a room with just ten ceiling boards horizontally and ten vertically, Zaybah only laughed in her head on the thought of that.

Her friends came into the room, made a whole lot of noise, chioma and feena where gossiping about her mother in law, "Zayba o, you've found a second mother, she could not wait for the groomsmen to pay that stuff, chai, is enjoyment that will kill you in this house ."

Zayba smiled and uttered "I hope it lasts long,"

"Did you see, how that your husband's aunty was dancing shaku shaku, dead, man I had to cry and laugh at the same time." Chioma added.

The room roared with laughter and the whole girls kept talking about the wedding until they all fell asleep, it was past three in the morning when mama listened carefully and heard nothing but silence.

Those girls didn't know they needed rest, she thought .

The following morning, at fourty five minutes after five, after subhi prayers, Zayba took her emerald green hijab and wore a bathroom slippers she found by the door, "girls, let's go greet the house."

"Oh please, are they not supposed to come greet us?"
Hibba that's hiding under the bedshit spoke.

"If we stay waiting for who is going to greet who, we'll all fail , let's just go."

On stepping out, Zayba saw a group of women, with food flask of different colors and sizes walking towards the room, as the smell of chips and eggs met there nostrils, they were sure the other flasks had coffee or tea in them.

"Ina kwanan Ku, amarya ina za'a je haka?" (Good morning to you all, where's the bride headed to?)

"Ina kwana, hafsat answered, da za mu Dan shigo gida ne mu gaisa." (We were about to come say good morning)

"Boo we don't do that hear, mu ke zuwa gaida amarya. So let's go back please, amarya ai bakya laifi, ko baki gaida mu ba." One of the Aunties spoke.

The Aunty and the other women laughed and they all walked back to the flat.

They greeted each other properly and were served breakfast.

Her mother in law walked into the room, already dressed in her black lace that has a touch of peach designs, perfectly tailored into a half gown and wrapper, the stones that came with the lace shone everywhere I could have sworn it brightened the dark room.

"Ina kwana hajiya, ina kwana hajiya." (Good morning hajiya) the girls greeted individually.

"Sannun ku dai, (well done) but first, ina amarya ta, (where's my bride) I'll greet her first before anyone else."

Shy Zayba dragged the corners of her hijab to cover her face.

Mama moved to her and sat by the bed.

"Aww, don't be shy my queen, feel free, this is your new home, good morning, how was your night? I know you're tired from everything, and you didn't get enough sleep, the girls didn't allow that, I was still hearing your voice past two in the morning."

Zayba smiled, and said everything is fine mama."

"That's good then, have breakfast and dress up, I need you to be done with everything by eight this morning, all of you should be ready, the families are coming over for budan Kai." (A cultural way of unveiling the bride).

"Okay, mama."

"If you need anything just let me know."

"Insha Allah."

Hajiya left the room, and the girls did as ordered, it's obvious hajiya works with time, for her to be dressed at six in the morning, you know how serious she is.
