A/N: this was a request by someone on here plz forgive for no remembering your user I have HORRIBLE memory
"Lost?" A young voice called out.
Dio shivered at the cold rain running down his back.
"More like misplaced,I won't be staying long" he sat on a wooden chair near an unlit fireplace. He'd been put looking for an Apothecary for something to get rid of his father with but Oger street was as dangerous as it got. He wasn't sure if he could handle getting jumped for ten something men.
"I see, well here" the teen dug around for something behind the counter top,"Take your pick,on the house" you placed a large towl out along with a tray of baked goods.
"I dont need your pity, woman" Dio scoffed,he'd be just fine! A little rain never killed anyone.
"Aren't you a rude one,it's not out pity it's so you don't get sick, but if you don't want it fine" How rude could such a handsome boy be? He must have been from a rich family with a bad relationship with his parents, you could just tell he was big bundle of trauma.
"...do you own this place?"
"Own it? I might as well,my mother won't be with me for long but I pray she passes on peaceful" She did her best to raise you after your father had gotten drafted for the war. She'd ask for the help of family and friends alike to make sure you had the best childhood possible and you loved her dearly.
"I see..." He himself had never met his mother he wish he could have but- "What? I already told you I-"
"Shut it and drink it, I just wasted three pounds on you" You handed him the mug, pastry and dropped a freshly folded towl onto his lap.
"Dont think of getting any favors from me"
"My goodness has no one ever just been nice to you? I don't want anything from you" You tossed a few logs into the fire place and lit them with a match,"Besides,'One kindness to another makes the world a better place',that's what mama taught me"
"Thats-" that was foolish, people like you would end up dead in the streets. The world was a cruel and awful place, only the rich lived while the poor survived but he wouldn't say anything for now.
"I know what your thinking 'This woman is a fool, the world is a horrible place!' And your right,I'v seen it first hand but I think a bit of kindness does help, you know?"
"Hmph, Well don't let youself get killed because of it" that was the only piece of advice he'd give you.
"Thank you,I'll keep that in mind," you checked the time and glanced outside the window, the rain was still pouring.
"I'll be taking my leave now" he folded the towl back up and placed the now empty mug back on the table.
"Oh here! Take this" you dug around for something and pulled out a long, slightly bulky object,"you can keep it if you want, stay safe and come back tomorrow! I'm making something extra special" You'd handed him an umbrella and opened the door for him.
"You are an odd one"
"Wh- rude! If you don't want it them give it back!"
"I never said that" he took it and walked out the door into the night.
"Didn't even say thank you, Ugh men" you rolled your eyes but shut the door behind you. You prayed he'd get home safely, it was dark out still.
You'd wondered if the blond would come back like you asked, You were always excited to share recipes with others! Surprisingly he did come back, after about a month or so. This time it was on a cool November afternoon,he'd strolled in looking as pretty as ever.
