THIRTY ONE

Third Person POV:

That’s the thing he regrets the most. He is reliable as a brother to Yoongi, but when Mr. Kim is around, everything is in depends on their father.

They are raised with full attention and love, their father loves them so much to the point that everything that he could give and do for Seok Jin and Yoongi will be given without letting them learn it by themselves.

“I am stupid not to question why Dad’s medical record was declared as a heart attack and was dead on arrival when in fact, he stayed an hours before the said operation.”

“H-He was found when he collapsed, a-and I thought it was just a simple mistakes on the r-record, I didn’t questioned it for a threat that they will get our property as a payment of the operation.”

“What can I do? I didn’t know Dad’s work, I asked a lot of nearby company for his insurance but, he’s no one.”

“Seok Jin–“

Seok Jin shook his head, he was clutching his clothes, he couldn’t breathe properly. It should came out as a relief by saying his side to someone, but he couldn’t accept to himself his mistakes of tolerating a root of all of their mess.

“Dad is healthy, h-he doesn’t have a problem at heart, h-he barely get sick. I’ve never seen him in worst. I-I swear…” Seok Jin was telling the truth, his father is undeniably healthy for his age.

“A-And then… W-When I met him… Jung Kook asked me to search the background of his company, a-and I did, I didn’t find it weird at all, its just pure good attributes to the country.”

“But when his Mom and Dad invites me over a dinner, I heard how the breakouts, scandals was being handled, it wasn’t suspicious so I didn’t mind it at all.”

“After our marriage, Jung Kook was sharing how the stress on his office was expanding with the project they had to let go because of an accident and it happened that I became curious.”

Seok Jin rubbed his forehead, he was drained but he has to, he was being asked and all he could think is to let out his thoughts. “T-That curiosity of mine was forbidden, I am the target o-of that man.”

“Choi Yeon Jung, h-he’s the lead of the protest that I saw at the news for making the Jeon's to surrender the land for their project.”

“T-The picture was blurred b-but I recognized D-Dad’s clothes. I am working o-on finding the truth quietly.”

“But what broke me seeing that picture is how Choi Yeon Jung, turned out to be the complainant when in fact h-he is c-completely fine.” 

Seok Jin was working on finding the truth on his own, he didn’t want to offend Jeon’s, he didn’t want his now parents to misunderstand why he was digging their scandal, the claim of Choi Yeon Jung that he is the victim of the sand falls on worker's head.

That he suddenly became the head of the project instead of Mr. Kim who is the real victim. “A-And again, a-after Jung Kook’s accident of saving my life. He is at risk a-and I am confused whether to give a proper clarification of my father’s death o-or to stop digging pasts s-so I could focus o-on the backlash that had happened to my husband when I am in the process of finding the truth about Dad.“

Taehyung was about to pull Seok Jin to his embrace when he heard Jung Kook’s faint voice calling Seok Jin behind the emergency door. “Babe? If you are in there can you open the door I need to say something.”

Seok Jin didn’t notice that Taehyung was looking at the doorway just like him. He wiped his tears as he let out a deep breath. “Seok Jin don’t open it for a moment, p-please you’ll understand me.”

Seok Jin was confused but he has to pretend like he just need to get out. “I-I need to stay beside Jung Kook.” The body of Jung Kook is Seok Jin was referring to.

“I-I want Jung Kook back too, b-but, Seok Jin what if–“

Taehyung is afraid. Afraid to lose a great man like Jung Kook, a great friend that they formed in a short span of time and he will value it forever.

However, things that he has been afraid of isn’t comparable to the possibility that Jung Kook is really dying.

And he had lost a chance to be afraid when Seok Jin opened the door, revealing Jung Kook smiling not so genuine.

It wasn’t a smile of saying a greetings that it had been nice you have met again, but neither a smile of a got to go now.

It was confusing, and it is making Taehyung’s mind to compress to kept on thinking what might have been running behind Jung Kook’s gaze.

The truth behind those confusing smile isn’t giving Taehyung a time to catch up when Seok Jin faced Taehyung. “Tae, I’m sorry, i-it burst out a-and I shouldn’t have taken it all out to you–“

“Kim Seok Jin, I need to tell you something.”

“We need to tell you something Jin.” Taehyung added, Seok Jin could only looks at the both of them as the confusing eyes of the three was in exchange like an orbit around them.

“Choi Yeon Jung told them he is being paid by the Park's to keep his mouth shut along with the people or workers to start the grumble. He’s not working and he’ll be supplied by money in exchange of that is he has to hide with the truth.”

Taehyung had processed all of that possibility, even Seok Jin, but its good to have a confirmation. But wait, truth hurts... “What he has been leading as a protest by the time of our company scandal that he’s the victim, when in fact its your father.”

“He finally confessed all of that.–“

Seok Jin knows he have to face what is served in front of him. “I know there’s something wrong b-but I turned blind eye onto it. Yoongi graduated at school and even if I decided to fight back, there’s no other way I would win.”

“B-But what’s giving me a trouble is the regrets of not trying that time, its too late when I have a guts that there might be something my father was being connected to the company scandal of the site that you’ve surrendered after Choi Yeon Jung have said he has been a victim of blind eye service of being hurt at site.”

"W-What if I didn't meet y-you, h-how am I going to find out about it?" Seok Jin said in a faint voice.

Jung Kook broke down in tears as he tried to walk closely to his husband. “Babe, did you consider thinking we are involved in this?”

Jung Kook will understand Seok Jin’s answer no matter what it is. “Never Babe…” Seok Jin whispers leaning closer to his husband.
