chapter 7: Train for the light sides

Patton was so excited for Hogwarts that he was practically bouncing in excitement but he was also trying to hide the sadness he was feeling about leaving his muggle family for most of the year. Patton turned around and hugged his parents, Megan and Nathan Sanders, and his big brother, Thomas, goodbye.  "We will see you at Christmas, Pat," Thomas said, running his hand through Patton's hair.  Patton nods as Nathan kisses his head. With one last hug goodbye and a promise to send tons of letters home, Patton ran through the wall between platform 9 and 10 and arrived at platform 9¾. 

Patton looked around at the other students and their families. He noticed that most of the students had their families on the platform with them which he was confused by as his family was unable to come onto the platform to say goodbye. 

He quickly hid that sad thought behind a happy smile when he heard the sound of the train arriving. He turns to see an old fashioned steam train. It had a black front but the rest of the train was bright red. Patton was memorized by it all. Patton was so memorized that he didn't even notice that he and 3 boys were the only ones who hadn't got on the train yet. 

He messes with the gray cardigan he has tied to his shoulders before he slowly got on the train and looked for a compartment to sit in that had room for him. After a couple of minutes, Patton finally found a compartment at the back of the train. The only person sitting in that compartment was a young boy who was reading a book.  The boy had brown eyes and chocolate brown hair. His hair was neatly brushed back with no hair out of place. He was wearing blue jeans, black polo shirt and a blue necktie. 

Patton was brought out of his thoughts by a fake cough and by the boy saying "It is not polite to stare. May I help you?" . He blushed in embarrassment when he realised he had been staring at the boy.  "Can I sit here?" Patton asked excitingly. The boy thinks for a moment before speaking "You may sit down" and pointing to the seat across from him.  Patton smiled  widely and quickly sat across from the boy who had gone back to reading his book. 

"My name is Patton Sanders. What is your name?" Patton asked happily. The boy slowly lowered his book to look at Patton before speaking "Hello patton. My name is Logan Picani. It is nice to meet you".  That made Patton smile even more.  

Patton continued to talk about how excited he was to start Hogwarts and make new friends while Logan just listened. Well he did until he was interrupted by a knock at the door of the compartment. Both Logan and Patton turned to look at the door.  At the door stood another boy. He had almond coloured hair that almost looks red and had light brown eyes. He was wearing a white shirt with a red cardigan like blazer thing and had black leggings on. He looked like some sort of Disney prince. 

Patton was brought out of his thoughts by the boy's voice "Hello fellow wizards, May I sit here? all the other compartments back here are full and I want to avoid my twin who sat at the front".  Logan adjusted his tie and was about to speak when Patton interrupted him by saying " Of course you can sit here, kiddo. Come in". Roman and Logan shared a look of confusion at the kiddo before Roman sat down next to Patton. 

"My name is Roman Royalty but most people just call me Princy. What are your names?" Roman asked with a majestic voice. Logan sighs and puts his book away knowing the other two will not allow him to continue reading. Patton smiles widely before speaking "I'm Patton Sanders and this is Logan Picani."   Roman nods before speaking again "So nerd, padre. What houses do you think you'll be in? I'm going to be in Gryffindor just like my parents".  Logan tried to not show how much being called Nerd hurt him and just  adjusted his tie again before saying "I will be in Ravenclaw".  Roman rolled his eyes at Logan before turning to Patton who looked confused about the question "What do you mean by houses? I thought we were going to have dorms to sleep it". Roman laughs before he and Logan explain all of the houses to Patton.  "Oh I think I'll be a Hufflepuff then" Patton said with excitement. and with that the train started moving. The 3 boys talked to each other throughout Hogwarts and soon became close friends.
