Chapter twenty four: Season of witches

"Clint!" Yelena called while rushing down the stairs

"Yeah?" "Get your suit on we're leaving" Clint looked at her confused

"What? why?"

"Sophia left" Ivy who was sitting on the table looked up, a concerned look was written all over her face.

"What?" she joined the conversation

"She left with Carol apparently" Wanda said "Wait, Carol? our Carol?"

Wanda nodded

"How do you know?" Clint asked

Wanda sighed and handed him the letter, as Clint read the letter he looked at Wanda with a sympathetic look

"Wanda..." "Don't" "Wanda, you know your kid better than me, you know very well she is not a lier and she would never leave just like that, I don't like the sound of that" he said pointing at the letter

"I don't care, ok? I really don't care, she is my daughter she is the only one I have left I don't care if i'm in danger i'm getting her back"

Clint looked at Yelena "I already tried, she's not going to give up Burton"

Ivy got up from her seat "Where is she?" "We don't know" Yelena answered.

"I'm coming with you" Ivy decided

"We don't know what's waiting for us when we get to her"

"I don't care she's my girlfr- I need to know she's ok"

Laura got in the room "What's going on?"

"I have to leave sweetheart" Clint said as he got closer to her to place a hand on her cheek but she backed away

"Why?" "Honey, Sophia might be in trouble I need to go with them"

"What do you mean Sophia is in trouble, she's not in her room?"

Clint shook his head

"Sophia is in trouble?" Lila asked with a concerned voice

Laura stroked her cheek softly "We don't know honey, but dad will make sure she's ok"

"You're leaving again?" Lila asked, tears threatening to spill from her eyes

"I'm sorry sweetie" Clint said as he hugged his daughter

Lila pulled back slightly as she wiped her tears "It's fine just... make sure Sophia is ok and come back in one piece... please?"

"Yes ma'am" Clint went to give her a kiss on the forehead but Lila walked backwards not letting him do it

"I'm gonna go rest" she said under her breath and walked upstairs

Clint sighed and looked at Laura "I'll go talk to her" Laura said

"I'll go say goodbye to the boys" Laura walked closer to him and placed her hands on his cheeks and pulled him into a kiss

She pulled back slightly, her hands still on his cheeks

"Be safe ok?" "I will" she pecked his lips and walked upstairs.

"Where are we heading again?"

"My home" "Which is where?"

"You don't want your mother to find us don't you?"

Sophia shook her head "Well, it's better if you don't know where we are"

Sophia nodded and looked down at her hands as she started to fidget with her fingers.

Carol sighed "I can always go back" "No no don't go back, It's not a situation that worth the risk"
