"I miss you, Dad" I whispered softly.
"I know princess, I miss you too". He sighs looking at her through the camera.
He couldn't believe how much she had grown in the two months apart. Maybe not in the height department, but her hair had grown long resting on her lower back. He chuckled at her golden curls which had definitely gotten wilder. But her once beautiful blue eyes were hidden behind a veil of unshed tears.
"In a few weeks, you'll be here with me. While you filming Victorious, in LA, we can go to Disney land. Then we'll stay in New York and you'll get to see the new set I'm working in". He promised, trying to cheer her up.
"I know, I'm just excited to see you! Did you see my dance from last week?" I asked shyly.
"Of course I did, you were an excellent princess. The judges thought so too! A perfect score! I was telling everyone on set. " he chuckled.
I grin, happy I made him proud.
"There's that grin I know and love" he cheered, wishing he could've seen the dance in person.
"Can we talk before I go to sleep tonight?" I asked, my grin slowly falling off my face as I knew our phone call was coming to an end.
'Calling for actors to return to set in the background.'
"Of course baby, I have to go now but I love you and I'll call you to say goodnight. Say goodbye to your mam from me. Love you!' he said quickly.
'Okay, bye dad, Love you 3,000!' I waved.
He blew me a kiss and ended the call.
I look away from the phone to see Mom standing in the doorway, she kisses my forehead and whispers "Just a couple more weeks, baby".
'It was always just a few more weeks' I sighed. I got up and headed to my room getting ready for dance.
Two hours later, I was in the studio getting ready for my turn class followed swiftly after by my Ballet private. Dance always helped me release my pent-up emotions, it was my comfort blanket.

"Phoenix was rough. You guys got your butts kicked. Here in Pittsburgh, you have won everything, but it's clearly a different story when you get on a plane and fly across the country."
"For years I took the kids by myself. I made sure the hair was correct. I made sure their makeup was correct. I put on the headgear. All moms want to go now because they are reliving their childhood through you all. And now, that's where the problem occurs. I am the leader, I'm the teacher. you do what I say. When your mothers tell you what to do, it's a conflict. You understand?"
I didn't really understand what Ms. Abby was saying, what my mom says goes. But I nodded along with the rest of the girls.
She turned to Nia. "Nia, how do you think you did?"
"Well, I think we could have improved".
"What do you need to improve" Ms. Abby questions
"Pointing my feet" Nia replies.
"Yeah. Very sloppy feet, legs, your shoulder, your arm, the same mistake over and over, and that pulls the group down".
Going down the line she stands in front of Chloe. "Chloe, the headband was bad. Next time, what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to make sure my headpiece stays on' Chloe replied instantly.
"Could you have prevented that?' Ms Abby questions, receiving a head nod in return.
