Third Person.

Melody sat across from 4 of the members from 'Why Don't We', all giving idea on how the song should go. Although Melody was fairly quiet the whole time, every now and then Conan would tap her on her arm, indicating that now would be a good time to express her thoughts.

There was only one problem. Zach wasn't there. The boys insisted that he'd be there, that he's always late to everything, but it had been 20 minutes since they were supposed to meet.

In the slightest way, Melody was kind of relieved. Yeah, she admired him alot from the little bit she had seen of him, but what was he like in person? He could be rude, or maybe just overall not as attractive. Maybe him not coming was a sign for her to stop getting her hopes up.

"Melody, would you be able to add a sample?" Daniel knocked her out of her thoughts. "Oh, uhm, yeah. Of course I can! What did you have in mind?" She smiled. As much as she hated to admit it, it was nice having a new artist let her be apart of their art.

All of the boys were very nice, and funny, most of her nerves had gone down. Daniel opened his mouth to respond, but before he could get any words out someone burst through the door.

"I'm so sorry! I woke up late and traffic was fucking terrible!" The boy exclaimed, quickly sitting all his stuff down.

Daniel laughed, "Well, nice of you to finally join the party. Zach, this is Conan, and our lovely new producer, Melody."

Melody felt a small blush creep onto her cheeks after daniel called her their producer.

Woah, I'm making a song for Why Don't We. It's really just hitting me.

Her cheeks became even darker when she looked up and saw Zach looking at her with a smile. He couldn't help it, she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

"Nice to meet you, Melody. That's a really pretty name. It suits you." Zach said, keeping the same smile on his face as he sat next to her.

Conan noticed the compliment and his eyes went wide, grabbing her wrist under the table and moving her arm up & down, smiling in excitement. The girl couldn't help but smile, quickly stepping on his foot to make him stop before someone noticed.

"You came just in time, Z. We were just talking about adding a sample to the song." Jonah ended the few seconds of silence, leaning back in his chair. "Oh yeah, so Melody, I was thinking that we could find a sample that kind of reflected the story behind the song." Daniel resumed the conversation from earlier, looking up at her for confirmation that it was a good idea.

The young girl bit the inside of her cheek, wanting to speak up about her thoughts, but being way too nervous to do so.

What if i come across as bossy or disrespectful? What if they don't like my idea?

Conan could tell the girl was overthinking and rolled his eyes, "Melly, just tell them what you think." He let out a little laugh, amused at the fact that him saying that most likely made her more nervous.

Zach lifted his eyes up from his phone, smiling a bit as he noticed the nickname Conan called her. "Yeah, Melly, be honest." Zach stated with a smile, which Melody quickly returned when she realized he had called her by her nickname.

"Uhm," Melody took a breath. "I just think, as a producer, that depending too much on the lyrics for the actual song would be a mistake. Obviously it's a good idea, but i think letting music take the lead for this specific song idea would be better. I mean, we don't really have anything other than the melody yet, i just think maybe we shouldn't depend on the lyrics if they aren't even ready yet." Melody spoke out, focusing on her fingers. Daniel nodded short after she finished, understanding what she meant.

"Yeah, i was thinking about that earlier! We could like ride the beat with our voices, like, uhm, 5 seconds of summer!" Jack smiled and corbyn nodded rapidly. I smiled wide and nodded, "Great."

It had now been 11 hours since the group met up, they spent all day in the studio. Although most people would complain about how exhausting all that work is, the group had a nice time.

Well, yes, it was very exhausting. But, they still had a good time. It was now almost 10pm, the group had been very exhausted, but they finished writing the song and had rough drafts of both verses of the song, along with jack singing the chorus.

Melody had actual become completely comfortable with the boys, they even made a group chat together.

Her and Zach hadn't talked much, other than her helping him with his verse and him complimenting her production skills, but Conan still wanted them to be more.

"Well, it's getting late," Corbyn yawned, "I'm tired."

"Do you guys want to continue this weekend? We have a lot of interviews tomorrow but we're free all saturday," Jack suggested.

"Yes, that sounds perfect! But we should really get going, we're staying at our friend's place and she'll shit on us if we come home too late" Melody shook her head. They all laughed and gathered their things.

Conan and Melody hugged all the boys, and began heading their way back to her car. Before they could unlock the car, they heard the sound of someone running towards them.

"Melody! Wait, don't go!"

They turned around to see Zach, running straight towards them. Conan let out a laugh and Melody bit back a smile. Once Zach caught up to them, they could see the wide smile on his face.

"Hey, could I, uhm, get your instagram?"
