Third Person.
Melody was sleeping peacefully in her bed when she was woken up by someone knocking on the door. She rolled over and looked at the time,
"Who the fuck is here at 2AM?" She mumbled and got out of the bed slowly.
She frankly didn't want to see who was at the door, to be honest she was terrified, but she knew Conan was a much heavier sleeper and would not be getting up at 2AM to check the door anytime soon.
She was hesitantly walking to the door when she heard the knock again, this time more fast, as if they were growing impatient. "I'm coming, I'm coming." She mumbled in reply and exhaled before opening the door.
There stood Zach Herron, still in the sweater and jeans he never changed out of from interviews earlier that day. He had a small smile and you could see how exhausted he was in his eyes.
"Zach? Do you know what time it is? What are y-"
"Please, let me stay here tonight. We've seen each other once in the last three days, and it was at a fucking studio. I'm so sorry I've been busy and I know this is short notice, but, baby, please let me spend time with you. I don't care if we're sleeping, I want you." He blurted out, his voice sounded more raspy and soft than normal as a result of being overworked all week.
Melody frowned, seeing how her boy was being overworked and hating that she couldn't do anything about it. "Of course, love, come in." She moved out of the way so he could walk in and closed the door after he was inside.
"Have you eaten dinner?" She asked and frowned when he shook his head in reply. "Was too busy, I ate breakfast, though." He yawned. "How about a bowl of lucky charms, hm?" She opened her cabinet and grabbed the box of cereal. He nodded and sat down at their island, playing with his fingers.
Although he hadn't said much, he felt like he was being vunerable to her, and he hated it. He was okay with telling her his feelings, but he didn't want to seem like a baby.
She made the bowl and grabbed a spoon before placing the 'midnight-snack' infront of him. "Enjoy, my love," She kissed his cheek and sat beside him. His tired frown quickly turned into a smile when she kissed his cheek and he held her hand, "Thank you, baby."
She nodded and intertwined their fingers, "No need to thank me. Now, how was your day?"
The young soon-to-be couple sat there for another 15 minutes while he ate his breakfast and talked about his day. She asked him to tell her every detail, and he complied, although he was tired of talking. It made her sad hearing how overwhelming his day was, but her sadness was quickly overcome with joy when he said he was free all weekend.
"Alright, go get a shower in my bathroom while I wash your dish. I'll be in bed waiting by the time you get out." She said calmingly once their conversation was done. He nodded and kissed her forehead softly before walking to her bathroom to get a shower.
In the shower, Zach sang quietly. He enjoyed having his own little performances in the shower, no matter how tired he was. It always made him feel relaxed. He made sure not to get his hair wet then got out of the shower and dried off with a towel.
He couldn't find a shirt, so he just put on basketball shorts he had previously left in her room for pajamas. He hung the towel back up and smiled when he was met with one of Melody's pastel yellow scrunchies. He slid it onto his wrist before walking out of the bathroom.
Melody layed there in her bed, half-asleep while watching 'the end of the fucking world' on netflix at a low volume. Zach smiled and got into bed, pulling the covers over them and resting his head on her chest.
Her hand immediately went to his hair as he sighed happily. "Thank you for this. I hope I'm not being too needy," He thanked her, his eyes not leaving the screen. A small smile rested on her lips and she shrugged a bit, "You aren't being needy at all, I love this side of you. And I missed playing with your hair, so it's a win-win."
Zach let out a small giggle and she kissed his head. "Can I kiss you?" Zach suddenly blurted out, a blush spreading throughout his cheeks. Melody smiled, "Yes, you may kiss me."
He leaned up and connected their lips, one of his arms going around her waist. The two shared a soft yet passionate kiss, and both had a wide smile when they pulled away. He rested his head back where it was and fiddled with the scrunchie on his wrist, "You're not gonna start avoiding me for weeks this time, right?"
Melody laughed and shook her head, "See, that was just mean."
He smiled, "Sorry, it was getting too quiet. Had to sneak a joke in."
She smiled and turned the tv off, causing the room to go pitch black. Zach kissed her temple and sat up to move positions, this time Melody being the one with her head against his chest.
"Am I ever gonna get to be big spoon?"
"Nope."
Melody laughed quietly and playfully rolled her eyes, even though she knew he couldn't see it. "Goodnight, Zachary. I really hope you sleep well." She spoke softly while closing her eyes. Zach smiled and kissed her head at least 4 times before closing his eyes as well, "Goodnight, gorgeous."
The two slept peacefully until morning. She was still asleep when Zach had to leave for a meeting, so he quietly got dressed and left a note.
The note read, "Goodmorning, pretty girl. I had to leave early for a meeting, but I promise I'll text you as soon as I can. I hope you slept well, make sure to eat breakfast and drink water. Have a good day, baby. xx, your boy."
After leaving the note on her nightstand, he kissed her cheek and left the house, keeping the girl's scrunchie on his wrist.
