MILEY'S POV

I couldn't stand watching Niley crying, my little angel.

"Mom, is this why Dad was coming around so much?"

"Yes."

"How are you?"

"I'm..." And that's when the floodgates opened.

I hugged Niley as if she might vanish the second I leave her. She was the result of our love. Niley was what we were back then. Love.

It feels like a distant memory now. I've tried holding myself up for the best, for Niley but... It seems to waver now.

All that hope, gone. I had let Nick down. I wasn't listening to him. Nick didn't matter to me all this time, but now suddenly he does.

And I'm going to do whatever it takes to get our family back. Everything's fair in love and war.

And Selena was causing this war.

NICK'S POV

"Did you sign them?" I ask Miley.

"No. But I told Niley about us."

"What did you say?"

"All about these years. How we met... How she was the mark of our love."

"Miley, you know this won't work again. This is like cheating on Selena."

"Nick, we are still married. You cheated on me with her. How could you?"

"I don't wanna travel down memory lane. It's over now."

"Nick, I think we should try again."

"Miley, do you realise how I was after you for all this time? I wanted to save us, our marriage but... It was you."

"Yes, of course, and I'm sorry. I want this with you, Nick. I want us back."

"I can't do this to Selena."

"She can't do this to us."

I hear him sigh on the phone and hang up. Nice talk, Nick.

NICK'S POV

Was it weird that I wanted to try again? One last time?

I slump my shoulders as I sit on the bed. Selena comes to the room wearing just my shirt.

"What's wrong, babe?" She asks me, concern in her eyes.

She sits down in my lap and strokes my face with her fingers.

"I love you."

This was the last time, right? The last time I talk to Selena?

I took her lips in mine and opened her mouth, taking my tongue into her. She moans and takes off my shirt. I take off hers and take my lips to her neck sucking at the base of her neck.

We shed ourselves of clothes and I thrust myself into her.

"You're hurting, Nick," Selena says and cringes, tears rolling down her face as she keeps her eyes squeezed shut.

But I wanted this. I was so hungry.

"Uh, Selena, there's this meeting we have out of town. So, I won't be back for another five days. Okay?"

Selena smiles with so much hope that I feel bad for crushing her.

"Okay, Nick. When do you leave?"

She blindly trusts me and I love her for that.

"Day after."

"Well, I'm gonna miss you here."

I take her into my arms and peck her on her lips.

"I'll call everyday to know how my sweetheart is doing."

MILEY'S POV

"You're coming to stay at my house?" I ask Nick in the phone.

"Yeah, it's all figured out with Sel. I told her we have a business meeting. I'll be skipping work for five days."

"Nick, no. You shouldn't."

"I just want to spend some time with my family."

My heart flutters at his words and I mumble an okay. Hanging up, I rush to tell Niley about this.
