19. Get Together At Demi's

MILEY'S POV

In the morning, I send Niles off to school with thoughts of Nick still clouding my mind. 

Demi invited me to some get together but I don't think I want to go.  All of my closest friends are going to be there but...

That meant Nick was going to be there too. After what happened, I don't think I want to see his face ever again. We were not going to work and I knew it. He was still filled with hope that surfaced up after 5 years and I knew, even if we did work it out, we won't last long. It won't be an healthy impact on Niley. This off and on thing. Niley didn't know much about her dad and I was happy to keep it that way.

But it has been a while since I last saw Demi, Kate and everyone, really. How were Demi and Joe doing? Were they expecting a baby soon? I had heard of it. How were Kate and David? Were they married yet? How was David doing in football? And Kevin. Did he finally get a girl for himself? I wanted to know everything and catch up.

I wanted to go on this so badly and if I had to see Nick again for all my friends, then so be it.

The get together was starting at 6 so I had to start getting ready by 4. I had to get Niley ready as well so I decided to dress up Niley first.

I sent her off to the bathroom to have a bath and till then I got her clothes ready. I had got her a pretty white dress with lots of frills and that's what I wanted her to wear.

When I got her ready, I quickly took a shower and did my make-up. Wearing my dress, which was a shade of mauve, I curled my hair until they looked presentable.

I started for Demi's house at 5:45 and reached there in time. Let's get the show started.
