MILEY'S POV

The sun was what I needed for this moderate weather. I was going to take Niley out to beach today and she was going all crazy.

But before that, the Sharma family - with whom we were staying - had told us to eat breakfast with us. I really wanted to try out Indian food, though.

We decided to go to the beach directly after breakfast. I was hoping I wouldn't eat heavy today. But Indian food is anything but light.

So, wearing my crop top and shorts with Niley's hand in mine, we reached the royal dining table with a smile and "Good morning"s to greet everyone. Mr. Sharma was sitting on the head chair with Titiksha beside him.

Mumbling a good morning, we sat down in our chairs. Mrs. Sharma comes out with a heap of something that looked like pancakes on top of another in a quarter plate. It had so much oil on it, I wanted to puke.

"Can... You make something a little less oily, Mrs. Chandra?"

"Beta, this is what makes India special. The butter! The ghee. Try it," she nudges me to try.

I put a piece on my plate. Mrs. Chandra offers me some curd and I eat it.

"What's it called?" I ask. This was perfect. It melted into my mouth. The crunch sound as I ate it... It was pretty good.

"It's a parantha. Aloo ka parantha," Titiksha answers for me.

I didn't reply and put another parantha onto my plate.

"Did you like it?" Mr. Sharma asks with a smile.

"Like it? I loved it!"

I heard voices coming from upstairs, little murmurs.

"Do we have someone else in the house too?"

"Oh yeah. Apparently, we had a room vacant so instead of getting them in a hotel, I thought I'd settle them here. You know, Kevin's friends?"

"But... Who could it be? Everybody was in US at the marriage?" I whispered to myself. I didn't want to look who it was descending down the stairs. I don't know why. It was going to be an ugly truth and ruin our time here.

As the couple descended, I could make out the girl's crop top and the guy's familiar Bermuda shorts. The guy had curly brown hair and the girl had slick straight black hair.

And then it dawned on me. No, it couldn't be...

Their faces also stoned on seeing me. I dropped the piece of my parantha and stared in shock.

They had followed us to India.
