Chaper 6: A good day

Ilus pov
The sunlight seemed to be penetrating my eyelids, I opened my eyes and use my free hand to block out the sunlight. I look down to see Liebe sleeping peacefully and hugging me. Poor child has gone through so much, him and Asta look a little similar. Their hair is quite identical in my opinion. I kiss his forehead and slowly get up. I put on my slippers and leave the room quietly so I don't wake Liebe up, he needs his sleep. I imagine being stuck in a grimoire might not be very comfortable. I walk my way down the hall to find Solid, he's walking weird and he's bruised? "Solid, are you okay?" I ask him. "Do I look I'm okay?" He said back in a rude way. Honestly he has already been rude, he has a superiority complex. "I'm just making sure you're fine." I told him. "Why do you care?!" He yelled at me. "No one in this house cares for me, all their attention only goes towards that useless girl who can't even control her own magic!". Honestly if he felt attention deprived, he could have just swallowed his pride and told Ridder or Nozel. "First of all your sister isn't useless. And 2nd of all, if you're feeling neglected why don't you just communicate with your brothers?" I asked. "You think they'll listen to me? They hate me. Whatever I do is wrong in there eyes." He said to me. "They don't hate you, there's obviously a misunderstanding going on. I'm sure your whole family loves you. You just need to change your attitude and maybe you'll see that they do love you." I said to him. He just looked at me annoyed and walked into his room. I should talk about Solid with Ridder, maybe he can talk this through with him and solve it. That was the first time he truly opened up to anyone I believe. I believe he can change for the better, I see everyone in this family as a sibling except for Ridder, I see him as my lover. I made my way to Ridders room, although I have my own room we decided to share his room. Ridder proposed the idea and I like that he did. I opened the door to find Ridder sitting on the side of the bed, he's probably wondering why I left during the middle of the night. Before I could speak he said "You don't have to explain. I heard some of what Liebe was talking about last night. I'm glad you helped him" he said to me with a smile. I smiled back and sat on his lap. "I'm not really surprised you heard some of that, poor child was crying quite loudly." I said to my Riddy. "They have gone through what a children their age shouldn't go through. Now it's our job to raise them into fine gentlemen." He said to me. I smiled and grabbed his chin with my index and thumb, I close the distance between our lips and give him a kiss. "We'll raise them well. With you as a father figure for them I'm sure they'll grow up as strong and confident men." I said to him. This time he approached and kissed me, I returned the kiss and the kiss got more intense. We broke away because we were out of breath, and I admired his face. Suddenly I remembered what Solid said. "Riddy? I think you should talk with Solid." I suggested. "Solid's back? That idiot coming back a whole day later" I cut him off by saying "he came back hurt. His body was bruised, he even complained that everyone in this family hates him." I told Ridder. Ridder eyes widened when he heard that, I know he loves everyone in his family dearly. He may be tough on Solid because of his actions, but being too tough can happen. "I'll talk with him" Ridder reassured me. "That sounds good honey" I said, It's only been a day since we've been an official couple and I'm acting like a newly wed AHHHH!

Ridders pov
When Ilu told me that Solid was bruised I was worried, he's only a boy! He's just a 10 year old, the fact that he came back late and hurt bothers me. It's bothering that maybe I neglected my own younger brother. I need to fix things now. "Well babe, I think I'll go talk to Solid now" I told my beloved. "Make sure to both you and him can have a good outcome from this, I think you may have been too harsh on him before." Ilu told me. She was right, I may have been too harsh. I got up and left to room going straight to Solids room. I make it to his room and right before I knock I can hear him.. crying? I decide to knock on his door and wait for him to respond. I get no response, so I decide to knock again and say "Solid, it's me Ridder. Can we talk?" I said hoping he heard me. "Go away!" I heard him shout. "Solid please. It's important." I said back. I get no response, so I decide to let myself in. "I'm coming in!" I said loud enough for him to hear. When I opened the door, I saw him laying on his bed crying while hugging a pillow. "I never allowed you to come inside" he said to me. "I came in because I care for you, you're my brother Solid. It's my job to take care of you" I said to him. "Why do you care? You never cared for me in my life!" He yelled at me. That broke me, did he really think that? I did care for him, I cared for him deeply as much as I care for everyone in this family. I think I let revenge distract me from the most important things. Solid is still a child, Noelle is happy because she never had to experience loss and she always had constant support from her siblings other than Solid. Solid had to go through the loss of our mother and father at an early age. Even though out father was a bastard of a man, Solid had to look up to him. Solid wasn't mature enough to understand right and wrong, he thought whenever my father tried to hit Nebra for doing something wrong it was funny. He always thought that being an adult was about drinking like a maniac and do whatever you please. And when our father died his father figure, no matter how horrible he was, was gone and he was the only example he had left. I used our fathers death as an excuse to find more information, leaving Solid alone. I made Nozel captain of the silver eagles, so he never had the time. Ilu offered to stay here and help take care of both Noelle, Nebra, and Solid but she mentioned that Solid never complied to anything she said. Maybe I was selfish. I let my selfish desires get in the way of my family. I gave Solid a hug, I want to help him. I can't let this family be ruined because of my own selfish desires. I'm sorry mother, I was so caught up in avenging you that I forgot the most important thing of all. My family. I hugged Solid to show him that I did care for him. "Solid, I'm sorry. I let my own selfish desires come in the way of being there for you. I should have been there, but I wasn't. For that I'm sorry." Solid was silent, he didn't return the hug and that hurt me. I guess a hug won't do much with the damage I already caused. To my surprise he slowly hugged me back. I felt relief, maybe I could change him for the better, give him the attention he needs. "I forgive you brother." Solid cried. I let him let everything out, I still felt guilty for what I caused. Once he stopped crying, I asked the question. "Solid, Ilu told me you were bruised this morning. Can you please tell me why?". "Why do you want to know?" Solid asked defensively. "Because I care for you." Was all I said. I saw him look at the floor he was quiet for a few seconds until he spoke "These kids have been picking on me. I thought they were my friends, but yesterday they started to insult me. They said that Ilu is a whore or whatever that means. I think that's some kind of insult. But they also said that she only stays with you because you give her money for some type of service or something. I didn't like that way they spoke about Ilu, because even though I may not like her a lot she still helped take care of the house and us when you were away. I guess I kind of see her as a big sister, and when they said all that I got angry. So I hit one of them with a water attack, but it wasn't strong enough. They got angry and they all attacked me. They later threw me down a set of stairs and from there I had to walk home. My body still hurts from yesterday." When I heard that I felt like killing. Not only did they call Ilu a whore, but they DARE HURT MY DEAR BROTHER! "Solid, you are a true Silva." I said. "Not only did you defend Ilus honor, you stood up to several people despite only being a child." I finished. "Now tell me, where can I find the people who hurt you?" I asked. "They live in the capital, but please don't kill them." He requested. "Don't worry I won't kill them." I reassured him, but I'll make them wish I killed them. "Well before I give them a piece of my mind, would you like to join me, Liu, Noelle, and Asta for a food trip at the capital?" I asked my little brother who only nodded with a slight smile. "But before that I need you to meet someone." I said to Solid. "Who?" Asked Solid curiously. "He's not human, but trust me he is a good kid." I said. Solid only nodded, but I could see that he was confused. I'm not surprised, he has no idea that other beings exist. "Well for now stay here, I'll get you a healing mage for you. After you're healed we'll all have breakfast and you can also meet Liebe." I told him with a smile. I gently ruffled his hair, and walked out of the room. "How did it go?" Asked the woman I love. "For the most part it went well, but I have something to deal with. Solid got beat up because he defended your honor." I told Ilu. "What?! Who hurt him?!" Asked Ilu angrily. "People that he used to consider friends. Don't worry, I'll deal with them." I said while clenching my fists. "Just make sure you don't kill them." Said Ilu. "I won't." Was all I said before we both went to the dining room. When we arrived I could see Noelle, Asta, and Liebe, playing board games on the ground. "You're pretty bad at this game" Noelle said to Asta. "I'm not bad it's just that you're cheating!" Yelled Asta. "No brother she's definitely not cheating." Said Liebe. "Dang it! Well I'm not giving up until I win!" Exclaimed Asta. "Alright Liebe, once Solid arrives I want you to introduce yourself to him." I said getting Liebes attention. "Solid? Isn't that the kid Asta beat up that one time?" Liebe asked. "Yes, and I promise you he has changed now. So please try to get along with him." I told Liebe. "Okay" was all the the small devil said before continuing to play the board game. I sent a healing mage to Solids room, and once Solid came to the dining room I asked Liebe to introduce himself. "Liebe, you can show yourself." I said. Liebe popped up on Astas shoulder and just looked at Solid. To my surprise Solid spoke first. "Hi, you must be Liebe. It's nice to meet you, my name is Solid Silva. Also Asta, I'm sorry about last time." Solid said. I'm glad he didn't make a scene, he also apologized to Asta, something Solid from yesterday wouldn't have done. "It's okay, I forgive you." Said Asta with a smile. "Hi Solid, it's nice to meet you too." Said Liebe. "I hope we can get along well." Liebe added while flying up to him and offering a handshake. Liebe was in his smaller form so Solid couldn't offer him his hand, instead he shook Liebes hand with his finger. Once breakfast was served everyone ate calmly, Solid saw Liebe in his normal form so he decided to speak "wait you can grow?" Asked Solid. "Oh yeah, I have 2 forms. One's my smaller form, and this is my original form." Said Liebe. "That's kind of cool" said Solid. I could see he was trying to get along with Liebe, which I am thankful for. Once we finished breakfast all of us decided to spend the rest of the morning in the garden, Liebe was in his smaller form sleeping while being caressed by Noelle. Asta and Solid were talking about who knows what. I was laying on my Ilus lap while she was caressing my hair, we were both watching the clouds and guessed the what they looked like. I see where the sun is and notice that it's around noon, I think it's time to go to the capital. I get up and take my head off of Ilus lap and help her up. We walk over to where the kids are "Alright everyone it's time to go to the capital" I said. All the kids looked at me and nodded, Solid was looking at me nervously I ruffled his hair and gave him a smile to met him know everything will be fine. Solid smiles back at me, and all of us leave for the capital. Once we make it to the capital we first try out several food stalls, everyone ate what they wanted. Liebe who was in his smaller form only took small bites and shared his food with Ilu. As we were walking around the capital I had the kids hold hands so they couldn't separate, me and Ilu were keeping an eye on them as well. After trying out the last food stall, we went to go get ice cream. After all the kids got their ice cream, me and Ilu decided to pass on the opportunity. Now it was the moment I've been waiting for, beating the shit out those kids that hurt Solid. "Solid, I think it's time I have a talk with those kids that hurt you." I said to my brother Solid. "Ok, but they aren't exactly kids." Solid said. In my opinion, that just means I shouldn't hold back. "Alright can you tell me where I can find them?" I asked him. "Okay, follow me." Solid said. Everyone followed Solid, I let them come because the kids could learn something from watching me fight. We arrive in a neighborhood where high class nobles live. He points to a group of teenagers who already have their grimoires, what was Solid doing hanging out with older people? I walk up to them "Hey!" I yelled at the kids. "Care to explain to me why you hurt my younger brother?" I asked angrily. I saw the 5 teenagers look at me, I noticed some were shaking. They're probably scared because I am flaring up my mana. "You mean that Idiot!" Said one of the teenagers pointing at Solid. "He attacked me just because I insulted a whore! So what?" The piece of shit shouted. Oh trying not to kill him is gonna be hard. "Say one more word, and I'll swear you won't be able to walk ever again." I said in a cold voice. My mana flared up so much, others could see a silhouette of a silver knight behind me. I saw the teenager back up, he was shaking. He and his friends decided to attack. I blocked all of their attacks with a thin steel wall, "I'll make it easy for you. All of you can fight against me and I won't even use my grimoire." I said with total confidence. "Hah what an Idiot, this should be easy!" Said one of the teenagers. They're underestimating me a lot. One of them sent a fire ball towards me, I used my steel magic to make another wall. Normally a fire attack would break through, but I've fought against the strongest fire mage in the kingdom and won several times. This kid is nothing compared to her. There was smoke all over the place, Ilu used her magic to make the smoke  disappear near the kids who were just watching attentively. One of the kids used his lightning magic to speed through and try to blitz me from behind, I was faster and dodged his kick. I crouched down to avoid his leg, and I sweeped his leg making him fall. I later trapped him using steel bindings. One down four to go. The fire mage ran towards me, it seems like he didn't pay attention to what happened to the lightning mage. As the fire mage was running, he used a spell "fire magic: breath of the dragon" the spell was weak. I sent a steel beam straight through the fire attack and hit him squarely on his chest, I'm sure I heard something crack. That son of a bitch deserved it. The other three teenagers looked at me scared, but one looked familiar to me. Oh that's right Alecdora Sandler, if I remember correctly he was chosen by William to join the golden dawn recently. "You, green hair." I said pointing at Alecdora, "you're supposed to be a magic knight and yet you attack one of the people belonging to this kingdom." I said. He looked at me scared and he didn't respond. "Since you're a magic knight, I guess I'll have to use my grimoire."I Said with a lot of anger in my voice. He started running away like a scared little girl, I decided to give him a 5 second head start. I reveal my grimoire, a silver grimoire with a 4 leaf clover emanating a white hue. "Steel creation magic: Knights armor." Steel wraps around my body taking shape into becoming armor. A chest plate is first formed, followed by leg armor, and armor for my arms, finally a helmet takes shape covering all of my head leaving some wide gaps in between for my vision. I use my magic to create a longsword. "Mana zone: mana expansion." My mana surrounds the whole area, I make my way in front of the green haired idiot. To what seemed like a 5 minute walk, I arrived in front of him in a fraction of a second pointing my sword in between his eyes. He stops right before he could run into the sword, he's shaking. I wouldn't be surprised if I made him piss his pants, the urge to kill him was great, but the kids were still watching. "I- I- I'm sorry!" He managed to say with his voice and body shaking uncontrollably. "Sorry doesn't do it justice" I said to the scared disappointment. "Vangeance wouldn't approve of your actions" I said in a mocking tone. "Attacking a child, it makes it even worse that he was a royal." I added on. He bowed down and kept apologizing. "Pathetic." Was all I said. I detransformed and started to walk away, but before I  left him, I gave him a strong blow on the back of his head knocking him out. His 2 remaining friends were shaking, they couldn't even look at me because of how much they feared me. "If you ever hurt my little brother ever again and Insult Ilu, your next punishment will be much worse." I said without looking at any of them. They only nodded and ran away leaving their knocked out friends lying on the ground. "What are you gonna do with those three?" Ilu asked pointing at the knocked out mages. "They can deal with it themselves when they wake up." I said without giving it much importance. I could see all four of the kids were left speechless, I think this is the first time I revealed some of my power. "That. Was. AWESOME!!!" Shouted Asta. "Your armor spell was so cool! How'd you do that? Did you teleport?!" He kept asking questions "I'll answer all those questions when we start training. So you four will be training with me and Ilu starting next week." I announced. "Really brother?" Asked Solid. "Of course, I'm gonna make each and every one of you stronger." I said. "Well it's time to go back home. It's getting dark." Ilu said. "Okay." Said the four children. I created a steel eagle and once everyone got on I flew back home.

Ilu pov
Watching Ridder show off his power like that was kind of hot if I'm being honest. What was even hotter was the way he stood up for his brother and me, normally I could have dealt with those mages, but I wanted Ridder to let out some of that anger. We made it back to the Silva palace fairly quickly, all the kids were already asleep. I guess today must have been exhausting for them, we've been walking around the capital for a long time. Ridder carried Asta and Solid while I carried Noelle, Liebe was in his smaller form so I just put him on my shoulder and he held it tight. We put everyone in their respective bedrooms, and both me and Ridder sat down in the living room. "I think I went too easy on them." Said Ridder. I look at him, he's looking thoughtful "maybe I could have joined in and taught them a lesson or two" I joked. "That would have been overkill" he said looking at me. "Brother" said Solid who looked like he just woke up. "What do you need Solid" Ridder asked kindly. "Thank you. I'm sorry for acting bad before" solid replied. "You don't need to be sorry Solid. Even if you did some bad stuff in the past, you still have a good heart. Just like our mother." Ridder said to him with a smile. Solid hugged Ridder and cried a bit, but they were tears of joy. "Solid, I haven't thanked you for standing up for." I said. I went up to him and crouched down to give him a kiss on his cheek. He smiled "I couldn't let them insult you. You took care of Noelle, Nebra, and me before so I had to show them they were wrong." Said Solid. "I'm sure when you grow up you'll be even more kind hearted and stronger than your brother" I said to the boy. "Hehe. Ridder, your girlfriend thinks I can he stronger than you." Solid said with a cheeky smile. "You can become stronger if you put enough effort into it." Ridder said surprising Solid. Solid only smiled again and hugged both of us. "I promise you I'll become stronger and help everyone." Solid said while continuing the hug. After a moment Solid let go of the hug and went back to bed. "Did you really have to say that?" Asked Ridder. "Why? Did I hurt your pride?" I joked. Ridder walked up to me and grabbed my waist he picked me up and threw me on the couch. "I didn't like that so you'll have to be punished." He said before starting to tickle me. I couldn't help but laugh at the tickling and his childish antics. I quickly used my legs to kick his thigh and make him lose his balance, I quickly flip him over and get on top of him. "This is for acting so childish" I said with a menacing aura. He looked scared because he was probably expecting something bad, but instead I kissed him. He was surprised, but he returned the kiss. "The nights still alive." Ridder said. "Want some to drink some wine?" He continued. "I swear you and alcohol, but I wouldn't mind a glass of wine." I replied. We were drinking wine and talking "I always knew Charlotte was in love with Yami" I said. "I had no idea, I thought she hated him." Said Ridder. "And I found out they were dating in the most awkward way." He finished. I giggled at his story, he told stories in a funny way. "Remember the first mission we had together?" I asked reminiscing on the past. "How could I forget. It was the first time I met you, Yami, and Charlotte." Ridder said. "You hated me back then, who would have thought that we would be in a relationship." Ridder continued. "I didn't hate you, I just found annoying." I complained. "I remember when Mereoleona nearly killed Yami because he was being lazy." I said while giggling. "Now that I recall, Charlotte nearly had a heart attack seeing Yami almost killed by her." Laughed Ridder. We kept talking about the past and eventually went to sleep. A lot happened today, but I'm happy Ridder has no more family issues anymore. There's no doubt about it, today was a good day.

Authors note: chapter done, Wrote my first fight scene, I hope it's good if not please tell me what I can improve upon. This chapter is around 4300 words, so it took me a while to type. Next chapter will be about Ridders and Ilus past, although for now they seem like the main characters they're not. Asta is supposed to be the main protagonist of this fanfic, but since he's a child he hasn't been the main focus. I also wanted Solid to have his own redemption, more development for Solid will happen later. Next chapter is gonna be focused on Ilus and Ridders past like I said, and it will go deep into what both of them were talking about in the last part of this chapter.
