Chapter 12: Anger

Astas pov:
I open my eyes to be blinded by the sun, why is it so bright this early in the day? It's only "3 PM!!!". I shouted because I thought it was the morning, guess I was wrong. I try to get up from bed, but my body aches a lot. I struggle my way to the bathroom and freshen up a bit, I'd like to take a bath but I don't think I have the strength to do so. I'm so hungry, so thirsty, and so tired. I walk my way to the living room using the wall for support, I need to find at least someone, I could use a little help. I manage to make it to the living room, to my misfortune there is no support so I guess I'll have to walk. I take a step forward, but my legs give out "Shit!" I yelled before I fell.

Narrator pov
"Shit!" Thud Ridder who was on the couch heard and looked at where the noise came from to see Asta lying on the ground. "Asta, you should be in bed." Says Ridder. Asta says something, but what he says is muffled because his face is on the ground. Ridder sighs and helps him up, and places him on the couch. "Now what were you saying?" Asks Ridder. "I said, I don't want to be in bed." Asta answers. "You need your rest, you can't walk around. You lost too much blood and your body is still recovering." Said Ridder. "Why can't some healing mages heal me?" Asked Asta. "You're body is fine. What you're suffering from is fatigue, only rest and eating can help with that." Answered Ridder. "That's so stupid." Asta complained. "It's just how it is, now there should be food for you at the kitchen. Timothy, can you please give Asta his food." Asked Ridder to the butler. "Of course master Silva." Replied the butler. "So, where are the others?" Asked Asta. "Noelle, Liebe, and Solid are training. Nebra and Nozel went back to their base. And Ilu is doing paperwork." Answered Ridder. "Why is Ilu doing paperwork?" Asta asked. "It's paperwork for our marriage." Answered Ridder. "I didn't know you had to do paperwork for marriage." Commented the boy. "Royal marriage is more political than romantic sadly. Luckily, Ilu should be done with it soon." Said Ridder. "Why aren't you doing paperwork?" Asked Asta. "I already finished it." Answered Ridder. "Couldn't you at least be helping her?" Asked Asta. "She didn't want my help, also I had to stay here because I knew you'd limp your way here. Man you ask a lot of questions." Said Ridder. "I'm just curious." Said Asta annoyed. The next couple of minutes passed in silence, Ridder was reading a paper and that caught Astas attention. "What are you reading?" Asked Asta. "Nothing important." Answered Ridder who was lying. Asta didn't believe him, but he gave it no importance. Soon Timothy arrived with a plate full of food. "Finally, I was starving." Said Asta rubbing his belly. "Make sure to eat plenty, also drink plenty of water." Said Ridder before leaving. "Also, Timothy you will stay with Asta for the time being. He can't walk by himself, so you'll be helping him." Said Ridder. Asta was chowing down on his food, but he accidentally took a bite too large to swallow. Asta started to choke and Timothy gave him a glass of water. "You should be calm while eating, master Asta." Said Timothy. "I can't help it, I'm just so hungry. And please just call me Asta. Master Asta doesn't sound right." Said Asta after drinking the glass of water. "Of course Asta." Said Timothy who remained standing. "Also you can sit down, you don't always have to be standing." Said Asta. "I only permit myself to sit when I am on break." Said Timothy. "You standing makes me feel uncomfortable, it's fine if you sit down." Said Asta. "As you wish Asta." Said Timothy taking a seat. Asta continued eating, but at a more slow pace. Soon he finished his food, but felt thirsty. "Umm Timothy, can you please give me a glass of water?" Asked Asta. "Of course, Asta." Said Timothy. Timothy left the room making Asta alone with his thoughts. "That voice said that it'll be back. Did it also say that it only shows the truth?" Thought Asta remembering himself killing his loved ones. Asta started to shake remembering those visions and quickly shook his head to prevent him from remembering. "I shouldn't think about that, what matters is that everyone is fine and will be fine for as long as I'm alive." Concluded Asta. Soon Timothy arrived with a jug full of water and an empty glass. "I decided to bring a whole jug because master Ridder said you need to drink plenty of water." Said Timothy. "That's fine, thank you." Said Asta. "It's my pleasure, Asta." Said Timothy pouring out a glass of water. Asta took the glass and drank it, when he finished the glass he poured out more water. "Man I didn't realize how thirsty I was." Commented Asta. "Yesterday took a big toll on your body, everyone was worried about you." Said Timothy. "What exactly happened yesterday?" Asked Asta. "I am in no place to tell you, you will have to ask master Ridder to know." Answered the butler. Asta rolled his eyes and thought of something to do. "I'm bored." Thought Asta. The boys thoughts were interrupted by the door bell being rung. "A visitor? I'll go see who it is." Said Timothy. "I wonder who it could be." Said Noelle walking into the living room with Liebe on her shoulder. "Probably those orange hair people." Guessed Liebe. "The Vermillions? Maybe." Said Noelle. "How was training?" Asked Asta. "It was alright, although it could have been better if you were there." Answered Noelle. Asta groaned "I wish I could be training, but I can barely move." Asta complained. "Don't worry Asta, soon you'll get better and be able to train with me and Liebe." Said Noelle trying to cheer Asta up. Asta sighed and said "Ridder said I should be back to normal in a week. Also, can you tell me what happened yesterday? All I remember is that I started to vomit blood and I fainted." Said Asta. "Ridder told us not to tell you. I'm sorry Asta but we can't tell you no matter how much we want to." Said Liebe. "Why? What's he hiding from me?!" Asked Asta angrily. "Asta, you will find out later." Said a older voice entering the room. "Why later? Why not now?" Asked Asta. "You're too young." Answered Ridder. "Then why do they know?!" Asta shouted. "They weren't supposed to know, and please lower your voice." Said Ridder. "This is stupid! If something happened to me, then I deserve to know!" Yelled Asta. "I'm sorry, but like I said you're not old enough to know. You can't handle the information." Said Ridder in a firm voice. "Why can't I handle it?! I'm old enough! I'm almost thirteen!" Shouted Asta angrily. "SILENCE!" Yelled Ridder. "When I tell you something you must comply. I didn't take you in to be disobedient, I have reasons not to tell you. You will just have to be patient." Said Ridder firmly. Asta didn't say anything, Ridder never yelled at him like that. Asta was on the verge of tears because the man who he looked up to the most didn't trust him enough to know what was wrong with himself. Ridder noticed the sadness in Astas ki, he sighed and walked to the entrance to greet the guests. "Asta, are you alright?" Asked Noelle worried. Asta started to tear up at the question, "No. How can I be alright if Ridder doesn't even trust me." Answered Asta while crying. "He does trust you, it's just that he has a good reason not to tell you." said Liebe trying to calm his brother down. "It's not fair!" Complained Asta. Noelle hugged Asta hoping it would calm him down, but he pushed her away. "Just leave me alone. I just want to be alone." Said Asta wiping his tears. "Asta, I'm sorry." Said Noelle sadly. "Sorry won't do anything. Just leave already." Said Asta. Both Noelle and Liebe left the room quietly, later Ridder arrived with Mereoleona. "What's the brat doing sitting alone, shouldn't he be training?" Asked Mereoleona. "I'll explain soon, let's go somewhere where we can talk." Said Ridder. "Rival! I've been looking for y-" Leopold was interrupted by Asta shouting "Shut up! You're so fucking annoying!" Leopold was shocked at what Asta said, he didn't know Asta was capable of saying that. Mereoleona on the other hand was angry at Astas outburst, but she looked at Ridder with anger at letting a boy act like that. "Asta, watch your tone of voice and language." Said Ridder. "Why should I? I'm only telling the truth." Said Asta. "Because you shouldn't be insulting our guests, and I taught you bett-" This time Ridder was interrupted by Asta. "Shut the fuck up! You didn't teach me anything!" Yelled Asta. Ridder was hurt by what Asta said, he cared for the boy and taught him many things. Ridder understood that the boy was just angry from before, but he couldn't help but take Astas words to the heart. "Is that how you speak to your elders! I should beat some sense into you!" Said Mereoleona about to give a lite blow to Asta, but was stopped by Ridder. "Just let him be, he needs to cool down." Said Ridder. "Leopold, you can go hang out with Liebe and Noelle, they should be in the garden." Ridder added. "Why'd you stop me?" Mereoleona asked angrily. "He's too weak to be hit right now. I'll explain later, let's just go." Said Ridder walking away. Mereoleona followed and Leopold left leaving Asta alone. Asta was curious about what the adults were going to talk about, "I think I gained enough strength to at least walk." Thought Asta. Asta tried to get up and managed to stand, however walking was a bit hard for him. Asta walked towards the direction Ridder went to, as he was walking down the hall using the wall for support he managed to make it to Ridders and Ilus room. He put his ear against the door and started to eavesdrop in the conversation. In the garden, Leopold could be seen walking towards Noelle and Liebe. "Hey Leopold." Greeted Noelle and Liebe. "Hey guys." Said Leopold a bit bummed out by what Asta said. "What's wrong with you?" Asked Liebe. "Nothing, but can you guys tell me why Asta's so angry?" Asked Leopold. Noelle and Liebe stayed quiet for a bit, but then Noelle decided to answer. "Asta is just hurt and can't train for a week." Said Noelle. "I have a feeling there's something more to it." Said Leopold. "We can't talk about what's truly wrong with him, Ridder told is not to tell anyone." Said Liebe. "Why?" Asked Leopold. "Because Asta can't find out about it." Answered Noelle. "Why not?" Asked Leopold. "Because Ridder is afraid of how he'll react." Said Liebe. Leopold said nothing, but thought "what could be wrong with Asta?". As this was happening; Ridder, Mereoleona, and Ilu were talking about Asta. "Ridder, tell me why you're letting Asta speak like that." Said Mereoleona. "What does she mean Ridder?" Asked Ilu. "I mean that Asta has been using vulgar language, and has even talked to Ridder in a rude way. In fact he yelled at at him." Said Mereoleona. "Asta is confused and angry for a good reason. The reason why I wanted to speak with you Mereoleona is because Asta has a curse." Said Ridder. "Does the curse make him a rude brat?" Asked Mereoleona jokingly. "It's a death curse." Said Ridder. Mereoleonas grin vanished, she soon started to grit her teeth and asked "How did he get the curse?". "It was a curse since birth, Elizabeth Kira cursed my mother when she was pregnant with Asta." Answered Ilu. "And you people have done nothing about it?!" Shouted Mereoleona. "We're doing something about it, Nozel is going to investigate more into it so she can get what she deserves." Answered Ridder. "She'll only get away with it! Just kill her already!" Yelled Mereoleona. "I do want to kill her, but we can't. Killing a Kira would cause panic in the kingdom." Said Ridder. "Tsk. On the other hand, you said Asta has a death curse. How is he alive?" Asked Mereoleona annoyed. "The bracelet on his wrist helps suppress the curse. Ye-" Ridder was interrupted by Ilu saying "Yesterday he could have died if it wasn't for the bracelet." Said Ilu tearing up. "He was vomiting blood, having horrible visions. He could have died!" Cried Ilu. "Ilu calm down, Asta is alive and recovering." Said Ridder trying to calm Ilu down. Ilu continued to cry remembering Astas pain, Mereoleona was watching the scene with anger. "What's crying gonna do?!" Asked Mereoleona angrily. "The Ilu I know never cried." She added. "I think she's just very emotional because of pregnancy hormones." Said Ridder. "Pregnancy?" Questioned Mereoleona. While the adults kept on discussing, Asta was walking away with tears, the information he heard was too much for him. With the help of adrenaline, he left the palace. Asta was crying helplessly, people were looking at him but didn't do anything to help. "Why? Why me?" He thought. After an hour of walking Asta was lost, the adrenaline rush soon left and he felt too weak to stand. Asta soon fell unconscious in an unknown area, "I'm sorry mom, but I don't think I can avenge you." Was Astas last thought before his conscious faded away. Several hours had passed, and no one even helped the unconscious boy, soon a tall red head appeared next to the boy. "Tsk, an unconscious boy and no magic knights helped. I guess I should do their work, magic knights really are useless." Thought the red head. "Where should I take him?" Questioned the masked man. After thinking for several minutes he figured out a place to leave him so the boy could be safe. "I guess I have no choice." Thought the redhead remembering a strong mage. The man picked up Asta and went towards a direction of a certain magic knights base. After half an hour the man arrived, and was soon spoken to by the bases captain. "About time you decided to join my squad." Said a muscular man. "I'm not here to join, I didn't know where to drop this kid off because I knew of no other place." Said the redhead. The man looked at the boy and was shocked, "Asta?!" Said Yami surprised. "You know the kid? He was lying around near the capital unconscious." Said the masked man. "He's like a nephew to me." Said the captain. "Kid's an idiot for going unconscious in a dangerous place." Said the man before leaving him near the captain. "Thank you bringing him here whatever your name is." Said the captain. "My name is Zora Ideale, and I had no other choice." Said Zora before leaving. The captain picked up Asta and brought him inside the base, "Captain Yami, who's the kid?" Asked a new recruit. Before Yami could answer a space mage said "Asta?! What's he doing here?" Asked Finral. "I don't know, but I do know that he was unconscious near the capital." Answered Yami. "Why?" Asked Finral. "I'll ask him once he wakes up, now where's my damn communicator?!" Shouted Yami. As this was happening, at the Silva palace everyone could be seen worried and yelling. "Asta!!" Shouted Ridder. "Where could he be?" Asked Noelle. "I don't know! I'll have to ask Nozel to help find him." Said Ridder. "Damn, where could the boy be?" Thought Ridder. An hour had passed, Nozel heard from his brother that Asta disappeared. The silver eagles captain sent several of his knights to search for him while he went along with Nebra to look in a different direction. "Asta isn't the type of person to run away, do you think that he may have gotten kidnapped?" Asked Nebra. "I hope not, Asta is too weak right now. Normally he can defend himself well, but because of that damn curse he's in a weak state!" Said Nozel angrily. "Curse? What do you mean curse?!" Asked Nebra. Nozel realized his mistake, he had no choice but to explain. "Asta has a death curse, an artifact is helping him stay alive." Said Nozel. "Why didn't you tell us?! We could help him!" Shouted Nebra angrily. "There's nothing we can do, now focus. We must find Asta." Said Nozel changing the topic. Nebra nodded still angry about why no one was told about Astas curse. Back at the black bulls base Asta was regaining consciousness. "Wh-where am I?" Asked Asta. "Brat! Care to explain why you decided to run away from home?" Asked Yami releasing his mana. Asta remembered why he ran away and only looked down. Yami notice Astas ki gave off tremendous amounts of sadness, and then he realized the boy started to cry. "What's wrong kid?" Asked Yami worried. "I'm supposed to die." Said Asta while crying. "What nonsense are you saying? You're alive." Said Yami. Asta kept on crying remembering what Ridder said, "I have a death curse!" Asta shouted through tears. "I'm gonna die! Don't you understand!" Shouted the boy while crying. Yami had never seen Asta so hopeless, he didn't know what to do so he decided to hug the boy. Asta tried pushing him away, he couldn't trust anyone. His best friend wouldn't tell him, his brother wouldn't tell him, and the person he looked up to the most wouldn't tell him. Astas reasoning made him conclude not to trust anyone anymore. "Let go of me!" Shouted Asta, but Yami was much stronger than him so it was impossible to escape from the hug. "Calm down kid, I'm just giving you something you need." Said Yami. Asta gave up trying to push Yami away and kept on crying. Eventually the boy couldn't release any more tears, and Yami released the hug. "Asta, I need you to tell me what happened." Said Yami. "Ridder said that I have a curse, he wouldn't tell me so I listened to him telling Meroeleona." Asta told Yami. Yami didn't question him, he knew the boy was too emotionally and physically weak to continue. "So you ran away without thinking. Am I right?" Asked Yami. Asta nodded and said "I didn't know what to do, no one told me what happened yesterday and it made me angry. They don't trust me, they hate me!" Asta shouted with anger. "They don't hate you!" Shouted Yami scaring Asta. "They didn't want to tell you because they feared you wouldn't react well to it, and look how you reacted after finding out." Said Yami. "They care for you a lot, have you thought how worried they are right now? You ran away from home without anyone knowing, you're sisters about to have a baby and you're only making her worry!" Yami added. Asta stayed quiet, he realized what he did was idiotic. The silence was interrupted with Astas stomach grumbling, "looks like you need something to eat." Said Yami. "Dinner should be ready soon, come with me to the dining room. After dinner I'll leave you home." Said Yami. "But I don't want to go home." Said Asta. "Why not?" Asked Yami. "Because they're going to be angry. They'll hate me." Said Asta. "They'll be angry, but they will never hate you. In fact, they'll be more relieved that you're fine than be angry. Get those stupid thoughts out of your head and come with me." Said Yami walking towards the dining room. Asta tried to get up, but when he attempted to get up he fell. Yami noticed that Astas ki was weak, but he expected him to at least be able to walk. Yami sighed and picked him up, he then walked into the dining room seating Asta next to him. "Charmy, when will the food be ready?" Asked Yami. "It's ready!" Exclaimed the short sixteen year old. "Good, now eat Asta." Said Yami. Asta slowly reached for the fork and saw the bracelet reminding him of the curse. The young boy started to shake remembering that he could have died, the fact left him completely scared. Yami noticed Asta was frightened, "calm down, the food won't bite." Said Yami. Asta started to tear up, "I can't die. I can't, I can't, I can't," the boy kept repeating in his head. Asta started to shake even more, breathing seemed to be more difficult, and tears started to flow at a rapid pace. Everyone at the table was now worried, "You either die, or kill." Said a voice in Astas thoughts. "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!" Shouted Asta. "Asta calm down!" Yami shouted. Asta didn't listen, he kept on panicking at the fact that the voice returned. "I'll always be here. Waiting. I wonder which option you'll choose." Said the voice in a mocking way. "Get out of my head! Get out! Get out!" Asta yelled before breaking down, he started to bang his head on the table hoping to stop hearing the voice. "Vanessa! Tie him up!" Commanded Yami before grabbing Asta to make him stop hurting himself. The new recruit did as she was told and used her magic to tie Asta. Yami gave a swift blow to Asta knocking him unconscious. "What's happening to Asta?" Asked Finral worried. Yami didn't answer he only held on to Asta, he was really worried about the boy. "Can't even enjoy a nice dinner." Said Yami trying to ease the situation, but it didn't work. All of the current squad member stayed tense. "Where's my damn communicator?!" Yelled Yami now furious. "Have you checked your room?" Asked Finral a bit scared. "No, go to my room and look for it." Commanded Yami. "Yes captain Yami." Said Finral transporting himself to Yamis room. Yami took Asta back to the living room and laid him on the couch, "I don't know what's going on in your head, but I know that it's not good." Said Yami. "I need to smoke." Thought Yami taking out a box of cigarettes. Asta had been squirming while unconscious, Yami read his ki and noticed that it was conflicted. "I'm not sure what to do. Where the fuck is my damn communicator!" Shouted Yami. Shortly after Finral appeared with Yamis communicator and quickly handed it to him. "About damn time." Said Yami calling Ridder. "Yami, I need your help." Said Ridder through the communicator. "If it's about Asta then don't worry, he's with me. You have some explaining to do." Said Yami. Ridder took a sigh of relief "I'm on my way to your base." Said Ridder before ending the call. Yami sighed and looked at Asta who was tied up and still squirming. "STOP IT!!" Asta shouted before waking up. Asta could be seen crying, Yami sensed that Asta was horrified. "Why is he so scared." Thought Yami. Finral was worried for the boy, he always saw him so happy and cheerful. "Asta, are you alright?" Asked Finral. Asta didn't respond, he only cried and screamed. Yami didn't know what to do in the situation, luckily for him Ridder came in bursting through the door. "About time you arrived." Said Yami blowing out smoke. "Asta!" Ridder said running towards the boy and giving him a hug. "You worried everyone! Why'd you leave!?" Asked Ridder angrily. Asta didn't say anything, but only cried while trembling. "Now's not the time to yell at him, if you sense his ki you can tell he's scared." Said Yami. Ridder read Astas ki and realized it felt the same as when he had those dreams. "He's having those dreams again." Thought Ridder angrily. "Now you have some explaining to do. Finral, leave us alone." Said Yami. Finral nodded and left the room leaving Yami, Ridder, and Asta by themselves. "Asta said he heard you talk about him having a death curse, is that true?" Asked Yami. "Yes, it's true." Answered Ridder. "I'm guessing you didn't want him to know because of how he'd react." Said Yami. "I knew something like this would happen, I was being FUCKING careless." Said Ridder angry at himself. "What's done is done, now something happened to the boy and now he won't even speak. I've never seen him in such a pathetic state. What exactly happened to him?" Asked Yami. "Yesterday, because of the curse he started to vomit blood at a lethal rate. If it weren't for several of the best healing mages he would have died. That bracelet on his wrist is the only thing keeping him alive. Aside from that, I think that he has dreams or something alike that are truly disturbing. So far from what I remembered is that he had two, and in both he killed everyone he knows in cold blood." Said Ridder. "The dreams have something to do with the curse?" Asked Yami. "That's what I think. I thought the bracelet would help suppress those dreams, but I guess not." Answered Ridder. "You should take him home now, you're lucky that one of my members found him. He was lying unconscious near the capital, anyone could have taken him." Said Yami. Ridder clenched his fists knowing that he was to blame for Astas actions. "Thank you Yami, for taking care of him." Said Ridder taking Asta. Asta kept on shaking, he didn't fight back or even talk. "Asta, are you alright?" Asked Ridder. Asta didn't say anything, the silence worried Ridder. "Only thing we can hope for is that he gets better. Also, you should have someone check up on him." Yami advised. Ridder nodded and left the base while carrying Asta. "I'm sorry Asta. This is all my fault." Said Ridder flying back to his home. Asta had a lost look in his eyes, and Ridder shed some tears seeing him like this. "I'll kill you when I get the chance, Elizabeth." Thought Ridder with anger. After a quiet trip, Ridder arrived to the Silva palace while carrying Asta. "Ridder!" Said Ilu. Ilu approached Ridder and saw Asta in a horrible state. "Asta?" Said Ilu while tearing up seeing her brother. "I think he had those dreams again." Said Ridder. Ilu started to cry while hugging Asta, "Asta please tell me if you're ok." Said Ilu through tears. Asta didn't respond but kept on shaking. Ilu started to cry more seeing that Asta kept quiet. "I'll stay with him for tonight." Said Ridder. "Why won't he speak?" Asked Noelle who arrived. "He's scared." Answered Ridder. "Why is he scared? He's safe now." Said Noelle walking towards Asta. "Asta, please say something. Anything." Said Noelle grabbing onto Astas hand. Asta looked at Noelle and said in a shaky voice "I'm sorry." He then bursted into tears remembering the torment he went through. Noelle hugged Asta and he kept crying. "Why is it always you?! Why! Why! Why!" Cried Asta. The two adults had an Idea of what he saw, Ilu joined the hug and rubbed Astas back. "Everyone is safe Asta. You shouldn't think about what you saw, it wasn't real." Said Ilu. Asta started to calm down a bit, but kept the hug. "I'll tell Nozel that Asta was found." Said Ridder. No one replied because the two were focused on Asta. Ridder walked over to the living room with Asta and laid him on the couch. Ilu and Noelle followed, and soon Liebe and Solid arrived shocked to see Asta. "Asta!" The two shouted running towards the boy. "Where were you, you Idiot! You had everyone worried!" Shouted Liebe angrily. "I'm sorry. I didn't know what to do." Said Asta with his head down. "I'm glad you're fine." Said Liebe giving Asta a hug. "Where did you go?" Asked Solid. "I didn't know where I was going, but I ended up at uncle Yamis base." Answered Asta. "I'm glad you're back." Said Solid. Ridder pulled out his communicator and called Nozel informing him about Asta. "Why did he leave?" Asked Nozel through the communicator. "I'm not sure, but I think he may have heard me talking about his curse." Said Ridder. "You're an idiot, he's too young to know about the curse." Said Nozel angrily. "I know. It's my fault. I also found out that he had those dreams or visions again." Said Ridder sadly. "Damn! I thought the artifact would suppress the curse!" Yelled Nozel angrily. "If I'm being honest, I don't know what I can do to help him. But I can't just do nothing, I'm going to monitor his condition every night now, I don't care if I have to spend my nights awake I just need to help him." Said Ridder. "We can only hope his suffering ends soon." Said Nozel. "Well I'll be disconnected now, good luck with helping Asta." Nozel added disconnecting. Ridder put away his communicator and then looked at Asta who was looking down while the others tried to talk to him. "Asta, are you hungry?" Asked Ilu. Asta looked up and nodded. Soon a servant came to the room with a plate of food, "Here you go Asta, make sure to eat." Said Ilu. Asta grabbed the fork which was on the plate and started to slowly eat. Solid left seeing Asta was doing fine, Liebe and Noelle stayed along with the adults. It was quiet, Asta was eating, the two kids didn't want to leave but didn't know what to say, the two adults only paid attention to Astas behavior. Eventually, Asta finished his food and didn't say a single word. "Asta, why did you leave?" Asked Noelle breaking the silence. Asta kept quiet for a moment and finally answered. "Because I was scared. I have a death curse, and I was going to die." "Death curse?" Questioned Noelle shocked. Liebe was also shocked, the two knew it was a curse, but not a death curse. "I didn't know what to do, so I just left." Said Asta feeling bad. "How do you know it's a death curse?" Asked Liebe worried. "I heard Ridder talking about it."answered Asta. Ridder felt guilty again, "I'm sorry Asta. Please forgive me, I promise that you'll always be fine." Said Ridder with guilt. Asta didn't say anything, he was still somewhat angry at Ridder for not telling him anything. "Why didn't you tell me?" Asta asked with a hint of anger. "Because we didn't want you to find out at an early age. You're too young to handle this information Asta." Ilu answered. "You knew too?" Asked Asta shocked. "I did. I'm the one who wanted you not to know, I didn't want you to worry too much. Look what happened when you did find out, we only tried to do what was best for you." Said Ilu. Asta clenched his fists, anger was blinding his sense of reasoning. Deep down he knew what Ilu said was right, but something told him to be angry. Ilu noticed Asta was angry, so she gave him a hug to help him calm down. To their good fortune Asta was no longer angry, but doubts were still on his mind. "I forgive you, but please no more secrets." Said Asta. Ridder and Ilu were relieved, "We promise not to keep any more secrets." said Ridder. Ilu nodded in confirmation, and Asta finally showed a smile. "Well, you should sleep." Said Ilu. "But I'm not that tired." Asta said. "No buts, you need to rest. Also, I will watch over you tonight to make sure you don't have those dreams again." Said Ridder. "Alright fine." Said Asta annoyed. "Well goodnight Asta, I hope you get better soon." Said Noelle giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. Asta grew a silly smile on his face, but the smile left when Liebe gave him a blow to the head. "That's what you get for worrying everyone." Said Liebe. "Ow! I said I was sorry." Complained Asta. "You still deserved that." Said Liebe. "Asshole." Asta whispered. "Well then, good night Asta." Said Liebe following Noelle. "I can't walk to my room." Said Asta. "I know" said Ridder making a steel platform for Asta. "Get on, I'm tired of carrying you all the time." Said Ridder. Asta slid off the sofa and landed on the platform. Ridder took Asta to his room, Asta climbed onto his bed. "So you're just gonna watch me sleep?" Asked Asta uncomfortably. "Yep. Gotta make sure you're safe." Answered Ridder. "I think I'll be fine, I didn't have any of those dreams last night." Said Asta. "But you had one recently today, so I need to be careful." Ridder said back. "Fine." Said Asta still uncomfortable. Asta turned to his side facing the wall, he started to feel the exhaustion his body was going through. Shortly Asta fell asleep and Ridder only paid attention to make sure nothing bad was happening. "You can at least bring yourself a chair." Said Ilu walking into Astas room. Ridder created a steel chair and sat down on it, "what are you doing here?" Asked Ridder. "I just wanted to check up on you two, anything wrong with that?" Asked Ilu. "No, I was just curious." Answered Ridder. Ilu walked up to Astas bed and sat on it, "sometimes you make me worry too much." Said Ilu to a sleeping Asta. Ilu started to run her hands through Astas hair, she then gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Sweet dreams Asta." Said Ilu. Ilu got up from the bed and walked back to the door, "Goodnight Ridder, I'm going to sleep." Said Ilu leaving the room. "Damn, no kiss for me?" Asked Ridder with disappointment. The night passed with silence, Asta slept peacefully which brought relief for Ridder although it left him confused, "I guess it's something that happens once in a while." Thought Ridder who was sleep deprived. Ridder noticed the sun was finally rising, he decided it was time to finally sleep. After leaving Astas room, he went straight to his bedroom. Once inside his room he saw Ilu still sleeping, he changed into his sleeping clothes and went to bed. Before sleeping he gave a kiss to Ilus cheek, "good night, or morning. Fuck I'm just gonna go to sleep." Said Ridder before sleeping.
