Chapter 11: Curse

Narrator pov
Everyone looked to where a man introduced himself, "It's nice to meet you Mr.Agrippa." Said Ridder. "Can you please help Asta." Said Ilu wiping her tears. "I'll see what I can do." Said Nathan. "Can you examine his curse while he's still trapped in my spell, or is that not possible?" Asked Julius. "For now you can keep him trapped in your spell, I have some questions for all of you first." Said the pale faced man. "What kind of questions?" Asked Ridder. "What kind of symptoms has the boy experienced? When did it exactly start?" Asked Nathan. "To answer your first question, he has been vomiting blood at a constant rate. If it weren't for several healing mages he would already be dead." Answered Julius. "And to answer the second question, I think these symptoms started maybe 2-3 hours ago." Said Ridder. "I see. Can I have a blood sample? Maybe that can help me with figuring this out. Never in my life have I heard of a curse that can make one vomit blood continuously." Said Nathan. "There's plenty of blood you can use in the buckets next to the boy." Said Julius. Noelle wanted to throw up at the amount of blood that was visible, never in her life had she seen so much blood. "That'll do, but I also need to ask for one more thing." Said Nathan. "And what would that be?" Asked Ridder. "I need to inspect his arm. I don't know how long it'll be, but it's necessary." Nathan said. "You're crazy if you think we'll let Asta out of that time bubble! It's the only thing keeping him alive!" Shouted Ilu angrily. "Ilu, it's necessary for him to inspect his arm. I have no choice but to undo my spell for Astas sake." Said Julius. "B-b-but, what if he." Ilu couldn't finish her sentence because Julius interrupted her. "I know that you worry about him, but trust me nothing will happen to him. I'll have the best healing mages I know to prevent anything bad from happening." Said Julius reassuring Ilu. Ilu only nodded as she continued to shed tears for being worried about her younger brother. "I'll call Owen and his mages, and once they come you can inspect the boys arm." Said Julius. "Thank you, Wizard King." Said the Agrippa. A couple of minutes had passed in silence until the healing mages arrived. "Thank you for arriving. Please take care of Asta after I undo my spell, I'm sure you guys had enough time to recover your mana." Said Julius. "We had plenty of time, but are you sure about undoing your spell?" Asked Owen. "I have no choice." Said Julius. "Now get ready, I'll be undoing my spell in three seconds." Julius added. The healing mages readied themselves and Nathan got his notebook and pen ready to take notes. "I promise to make this quick." Julius only nodded and undid his spell. As soon as the spell undid itself Asta started to scream in agony, Ilu, Noelle, Ridder, and Liebe who was watching everything from the grimoire watched everything with pain. Noelle started crying and felt sick seeing her best friend in so much pain and bleeding at an insane amount. "ASTA! ASTAAA!" Yelled Ilu who couldn't stand seeing her brother like this. Ridder hugged her tight trying to let her know everything will be fine, but it didn't work. Ilu kept on trying to rush over to him and couldn't calm down so Julius decided to encase her with his magic. "I'm sorry Ilu, but I have no other choice." Said Julius. Nathan was taking notes of the curses design and glow, "I have never seen a curse as complex as this" said the curse specialist. "I'm done now, I have all I need." Said Nathan. Julius encased Asta in a chronostasis and Ridder asked "Do you know how to cure the curse?". "If I'm being honest, I'm not sure. But I'll see what I can do." Answered Nathan. "Please sir, please help Asta. He's my best friend and I don't want to lose him." Said Noelle while crying. "Don't worry young lady, I promise to help in any way I can." Said Nathan. "May I speak with the adults please?" Asked the Agrippa. Julius undid the time bubble that encased Ilu and nodded. "Ilu the man needs to talk with us about something." Said Ridder. Ilu who was confused at the sudden change of events from being stuck in a time bubble took a few moments to process what was going on. "Why?" Asked Ilu. "I need to speak about the boys curse. I advise the kid to stay." Answered Nathan. "Very well, Noelle you stay here while we head out to talk." Said Ridder. Noelle nodded while Julius said "I'll stay with Asta in case anything happens." Ridder nodded and Ilu was worried about what Nathan would tell them. Once the three left the room there was silence until Nathan spoke "After examining the mark on his arm I can confirm it is a curse. Never in my life have I seen such a curse, but what makes this different from most curses is that it's a death curse." When the two heard that their eyes widened and Ilu broke down in tears. The woman tried to articulate words but nothing came out, all she could do was cry. Ridder knelt down and comforted Ilu, "what kind of bastard curses a child." Said Ridder. "I'm sorry for being so abrupt about all of this, but I may have a solution." Said Nathan. Ridder looked up and asked "There's a solution?" "I have recently started to make magical artifacts that can suppress curses, although they are still prototypes I'm not sure if it'll work." Said Nathan. "Please, I beg you save the child." Said Ridder bowing his head. Nathan never expected a royal, much less the head of a royal house, to plead in such a way. "I will bring the artifact, after I analyze the boys blood. Maybe analyzing the blood can help me find out when the boy was cursed." Said Nathan. "Thank you." Said Ilu between tears. "Thank you for helping my brother." Cried Ilu. "It's no problem at all miss. I'll be back as soon as I'm done analyzing the blood and I'll bring the artifact I was talking about." Said Nathan before leaving. "You can calm down now Ilu. Everything will be fine now I promise." Ridder whispered to Ilu. "Now cheer up, this much stress isn't good for the baby." Ridder added. "You're right, but I can't help but worry about my Asta. He's only a boy, why couldn't he just grow up normally? Why does he have to go through all of this?" Ilu said. "That's because Asta is special. The toughest battles are given to the strongest soldiers. When the boy grows up he'll have all the experience, strength, and knowledge to be Wizard King and avenge your mother." Said Ridder. Ilu knew Ridder believed in Asta, but right now his belief in him made her realize how strong Asta can be. "I guess crying won't help him then, but I don't know what to do other than worry about him." Confessed Ilu. "I'm worried about him too, and all we can do is hope everything will be fine. You and me know Asta well enough to know he'll be fine." Said Ridder. "You're right, he's a strong boy. Let's go back to the room now, I just want to see him." Said Ilu. "Alright let's go." Ridder responded. The two went back inside the room and told the people present about what Nathan said. "That's better than nothing, I just hope it works." Said Liebe. "The Agrippa family is well known for their knowledge about curses, but it seems like Asta is a special case for them." Said Julius. "What do you mean by that?" Asked Ilu. "Nathan said that the curse Asta has is something he has never seen before. Although I find that quite troubling, my foresight is telling me that everything will work out." Said Julius. "Although it's not very clear, could the curse be interfering with my predictions?" Thought Julius. "I hope you're right, Wizard King. I want Asta to be back to normal" Said Noelle looking at the boy. "Don't worry Noelle, he'll be fine." Said Julius doubtfully. Ridder noticed that Julius was doubtful, but he decided not to say anything to cause more tension than there already was. "So do we just wait until that pale face dude comes back?" Asked Liebe. "Yes, all we can do is wait." Answered Ridder. While they were waiting for Nathan to come back Nozel could be seen flying towards the Agrippa household. Once he arrive he met the head of the household, "Nathan Agrippa is it?" Asked Nozel. "Yes it is. What can I help you with young man." Said Nathan. "I heard you have experience about curses. I need your help with something." Said Nozel. "Does it have to do with a boy named Asta?" Asked the Agrippa. "How do you know?" Asked Nozel shocked. "I'm already helping the boy. I have a blood sample and I may have something that could help the boy." Answered Nathan. "That's perfect. May I join you? I have many questions that remain to be answered." Said Nozel. "Of course you may join. Shall we go inside?" Said Nathan. "Of course we can." Said Nozel following Nathan. When Nozel entered the room he noticed the lack of light, the house had a gloomy look to it. It was no surprise why Nathan had such a pale complexion. "My family normally is in bed at this hour. I have a wife and daughter, my son joined a squad not so long ago. I believe it was the black bulls." Said Nathan. "I see." Was all Nozel could say. He wasn't sure how to have a conversation with someone who seemed so odd to him. After walking to the basement of the house they entered a room with tons of books and equipment. "The Agrippa family used to set curses on others, I decided to stop that legacy and instead decided to help cure curses with the family's knowledge about curses and death." Said Nathan. "It's good to see you're helping others, I'm sure you have helped many." Said Nozel. "Not a lot of people have asked for help, they seem to be scared of my appearance." Said Nathan. Nozel felt awkward after hearing what the pale man said, it was true his appearance was unsettling, but he couldn't say anything about it so he just kept quiet. Nathan took out a vial filled with blood and a notebook, Nozel looked at the notebook and noticed the drawing that was present. "This drawing.." said Nozel. "That's what the curse on the boy looks like. I admit it's something I have never seen in my life." Said Nathan. "This curse.. it looks so similar to moms. How? When?" Thought Nozel. "Do you know when the curse was placed on Asta?" Asked Nozel. "I'm not sure, but analyzing the boys blood can give us an answer." Said Nathan. "How will you analyze his blood?" Asked Nozel. "This magical artifact can analyze blood." Said Nathan while pointing towards a vase like object. "I have only used it a couple of times on myself, this will be my first time sampling someone's else's blood." Said Nathan. "You analyzed your blood?" Asked Nozel. "I used it whenever I caught a cold, the artifact gives me every bit of information just by analyzing a blood sample. It's a really useful artifact." Said Nathan walking towards the object. Nozel followed and saw Nathan pour some of the blood into a small hole that was in the object. Once the blood entered the artifact started to glow and printed text on a piece of paper placed above it. "Give it a couple of minutes and we'll have all the information about the boys biology, magic, and curse." Said Nathan. "How are you so sure that this artifact can find information about the curse?" Asked Nozel. "One time I was experimenting with cures and accidentally put a minor curse on myself, I used the artifact to help me cure said curse. The artifact told me when I was cursed, and what curse it was. This was the best purchase I ever made." Said Nathan. "Sounds like a very useful artifact for your profession." Said Nozel. "It truly is" said Nathan. Soon the artifact stopped glowing and Nathan said "looks like the report is ready." Nozel only nodded and followed Nathan to see the report. Nathan took the report and placed it on the large desk so both could read it. The whole report left them astonished. Nozel for the most part expected most of it, but what surprised him was that Asta had his own power. "Interesting. The boy doesn't have magic, but he has a different form of energy flowing inside him and it seems like it developed when he was seven." Said Nathan. "I believe that's anti-magic. I always thought the power came from his grimoire, but it seems his body adapted it in itself." Said Nozel. "Anti-magic? Grimoire? How?" Asked Nathan astonished. "Asta is a special boy, he was born without magic due to his mothers curse. He received a grimoire that possessed anti-magic because he is the only one who can use such a power." Said Nozel. "I can help cure his mothers curse." Said Nathan. Nozel stayed quiet for a moment and decided to speak "His mother died when he was seven." Said Nozel. "Oh, that's unfortunate." Said Nathan. The two kept silent for a moment until Nozel proposed "well let's find out when Asta was cursed." "I agree." Said Nathan. After reading more of the report they finally found information about the curse, "impossible, Asta is only twelve. How could have he gotten cursed thirteen years ago?" Asked Nozel. "That's odd, the artifact is always correct. It also says that the curse was placed by an unknown source." Said Nathan. Nozel had an Idea of who it could've been. "DAMN!" Yelled Nozel while slamming the desk. "Is everything alright?" Asked Nathan frightened by Nozels outburst. Nozel couldn't tell the truth, the secret about Megicula is supposed to stay hidden. Nozel knew the consequences of revealing the secret of Megicula, he only told two people who he trusted the most. "Everything is alright. I'm just worried for the boy." Lied Nozel. "I understand your worry for the boy. I admit the boy has a lot of good people caring for him, don't worry though. I have a magical artifact that can help repress the curse. Although it is experimental, I believe it can work." Said Nathan. "I'll take your word for it." Said Nozel. "The report says the curse's strength is weak, although very deadly, my artifact might be able to suppress its symptoms." Said Nathan. "Is it fine if I keep this report?" Asked Nozel. "You can take it. I have no use for it anymore. Well, I'll go get the magical artifact and we can finally help the boy." Said Nathan. "Thank you for the help, if possible can you please find a cure for the curse?" Asked Nozel. "I plan on it, again I have never seen a curse like this before. So, please be patient because curing an unknown curse such as this will take time." Answered Nathan. "I understand, and again thank you for the help." Thanked Nozel. "It's no problem at all." Replied Nathan. Nathan walked towards a storage closet and inside was a cabinet, when he opened the cabinet several pieces of jewelry and accessories could be seen. "This bracelet might work. Fitting accessory for a boy as well, I don't know too much about what boys these days like but I'm sure he wouldn't mind it." Said Nathan. Nozel only watched Nathan take the bracelet out and walked back to him, "well let's go back to where the boy is." Said Nathan. "Very well." Replied Nozel. At the medical ward everyone could be seen waiting for Nathans arrival it was silent until Liebe spoke up "How long is this guy gonna take?" "It'll probably take some time. He said he has never seen a curse like this before, so I imagine he's having some trouble." Answered Ridder. "Well he should hurry, I just want Asta to feel better already." Said Noelle. "You have to be patient. Impatience never leads to anything good." Said Julius. "How can I be patient if I'm seeing Asta in so much pain!" Yelled Noelle annoyed. "Watch your tone of voice when speaking to the Wizard King!" Yelled Ridder. Noelle didn't say anything but sat down looked away angrily. "It's alright Ridder, she's a child who's worried about her friend. It's natural for her to be worried." Said Julius. Ilu who was listening was feeling tired, but she couldn't fall asleep because Astas condition made it impossible. Some time had passed until the door to the room opened revealing Nathan and Nozel. "Nozel? What are you doing here?" Asked Ridder. "I was trying to find help for the curse, but it turned out Nathan was already helping. So I decided to follow along." Answered Nozel. "I see. Well Mr. Agrippa, did you bring the artifact?" Asked Ridder. "I did, now Wizard King can you please undo your magic. I need to place the artifact on the cursed arm." Said Nathan. "Of course I can." Said Julius. "But first I need Owen to help in case of an emergency." Julius added. "Sounds good." Said Nathan. Once Owen entered the room he positioned himself near Asta to heal him when Julius undid his spell. "I'm ready." Said Owen. "So am I." Said Nathan. Julius nodded and undid his chronostasis, Asta immediately started to vomit blood again and Owen started to use his healing magic. Nathan quickly put the bracelet on the boys arm and a purple gas was expelled from the area. "It seems like it's working." Said Nathan. After a couple of seconds Asta stopped vomiting blood and soon his gagging turned into screams. "AHHH AHHHHH! MAKE IT STOP!" Cried Asta. Ilu quickly got up and ran towards her brother and hugged him tight. Asta slightly opened his eyes which were flowing tears "where am I? Everything hurts." Complained the boy. "Everything's fine Asta, we're here for you." Whispered Ilu. Asta started crying again, when he was unconscious he had nightmares about him killing and his loved ones dying. "I-I-I. Killed." The boy cried. Ridder could tell through Astas ki that he felt fear and sadness, it was similar to how he felt earlier today. As Asta was crying Noelle came up and hugged him, "Asta calm down. Please." Begged Noelle. "You're supposed to be dead! I saw you die! Over and over again!" Yelled Asta. "What are you talking about? I'm right here." Said Noelle scared at what Asta was saying. "Asta, what ever you saw wasn't real. Everyone is fine. Please calm down." Said Ilu. Asta didn't say anything but only cried. The boy cried into his sisters chest, everyone could hear the fear, sorrow, and despair from the boys cry. Nozel felt anger and hatred course through his veins, he assumed whatever he witnessed was due to the curse. "I'll kill you Megicula." Thought Nozel angrily. Nozel then remembered that the curse was placed on the boy even before he was born, he thought it would be best to talk about with Ilu and Ridder later after the situation calmed down. "I'll take my leave, good day to you all." Said Nathan before leaving. "Thank you Nathan." Said Ilu. "If it weren't for you I would have lost my Asta." Said Ilu who was still hugging her crying little brother. "You're welcome miss. I'll try my best to cure the curse as soon as possible." Said Nathan before leaving. Ridder looked at Asta hoping the boy would calm down, but it seemed whatever the boy saw completely traumatized him. "Later I could ask Marx to view his memories again, this time I'll make sure he's asleep." Thought Ridder. After a moment Asta seemed to calm down, Liebe came out of his grimoire and hugged Asta. "You idiot, do you know how much you scared me? I can't lose you too." Cried Liebe. Asta said nothing and only corresponded the hug. Noelle who saw the scene couldn't help but think about what Asta said. "Did he see me die? But that's impossible I'm right here." Thought Noelle. "I'm sorry for scaring all of you. I'm just.. scared." Said Asta in a weak voice. It was clearly visible that the boy was weak and tired, it was surprising to see him still awake. "It's okay Asta, it's all over now. Everything will be back to normal." Said Noelle while giving Asta a hug. This time Asta returned Noelles hug and said "I'm sorry for what I said earlier." "It's fine, all that matters is that you're fine now." Said Noelle. "It's good to see Asta now doing better. Make sure to get plenty of rest, you lost a lot of blood." Said Julius looking at the seen with relief. Asta remained hugging Noelle as his life depended on it, never in his life had he seen something so gruesome. The memory of Noelle being ripped apart wanted to make him vomit, but he couldn't vomit anything since he hadn't eaten anything the whole day. The boy wanted to sleep, but he feared he would have those nightmares again. The fear of those nightmares made him start to shake. Noelle who noticed his shaking worried her and started rubbing his back to help calm him down. "Noelle, please promise me that you won't die." Asked Asta. "I promise I won't." Said Noelle trying to make Asta feel better. Shortly both released the hug and Asta decided to sleep. Once he fell asleep Ridder finally spoke, "Noelle, Liebe, can you please go back home." "Why should we leave?" Asked Liebe annoyed. "Please don't make this harder than it has to be. Just leave, the adults have something important to talk about." Said Ridder. The two kids nodded and left although both were annoyed by the fact that they couldn't stay with Asta, they had to comply. "Julius can you please call Marx. I think we should see what the boy saw." Said Ridder. Julius nodded, and summoned Marx. "Marx, can you please come to the medical ward. We need to use your magic for something important." Said Julius speaking through a hologram. "Yes, Wizard King." Said Marx. The projection ended and a couple of minutes later Marx entered the room. "What do you need help with Wizard King?" Asked Marx. "I need you to project Astas memories." Said Julius. Marx nodded and used his magic to project what Asta saw. A projection appeared on top of Asta and everything could be seen. In the projection: "You're weak willed" said a voice. SHUT UP!" Shouted Asta. "Your only purpose is to kill." Said the voice. "No! I won't kill!" Shouted Asta angrily. "Then explain this." Said the voice. Asta who was floating in a dark space soon fell onto a rocky surface, he looked up to see a bunch of dead people. Something that caught everyone's attention was Noelle who looked much older. "Asta, please stop." Cried Noelle. Asta who said nothing only approached Noelle and use a smaller black sword to stab Noelle right in the middle of her chest. Laughing could be heard from the boy, "everyone only comes in my way." Laughed Asta. "This is why I need to kill everyone."said Asta. After being stabbed, Noelle coughed out blood. Tears could be seen coming out of her eyes, soon Asta started to stab every part of her body, several areas of her chest but didn't stab her heart. Asta stabbed her stomach, arms, and legs. Soon after the last stab he dropped the sword and put his hands into one of her wounds and opened it up. Noelle screamed in pain and agony. "AHHHHHHH!" Yelled Noelle, Asta who was watching himself kill Noelle was shouting and screaming. "NO! NO! PLEASE STOP!" Cried Asta at the top of his lungs. Outside the memory everyone saw the memory with shock and fear. The Asta who was opening Noelles wounds stretched it even more, making her body split and rip open. Soon Noelles screams went silent signaling she had died. Asta who was watching could only cry at watching how someone who is him killed his best friend in such a gruesome manner. "Very good." A deep and sinister voice said. "It wasn't that hard." Said the older Asta. "I noticed you held back, however." Said the sinister voice. "I would never hold back, Lucifero." Said the older Asta. The real Asta who heard that name was shocked. "L-lu-Lucifero?" Said Asta who was still crying. "Oh well, have you killed that devil who claimed to be your brother?" Asked Lucifero. "I did not too long ago, he thought humans were worth saving." Said the older Asta. "Truly a disgrace. You're the only human that has my respect." Said Lucifero. "Let's make this world ours now, no one can oppose me." Said Asta. "I'll start by exterminating every human right now." Said the king of devils. "Very well." Was all Asta said before covering himself in a black sphere. "Presence of the demon king." Casted the devil. Everything in the area started to get crushed, the power of the spell shown shocked those who were watching the memory. "I can't feel anyones ki, looks like you didn't hold back." Said Asta. "Me and you alone are enough to reign supreme. No one, not even Gods can oppose us." Said Lucifero smiling in a sadistic manner. "I would never. No no no no no no no." Repeated the real Asta. "This is your fate. You are no hero of justice you want to be, you are only a servant of evil." Said the voice. Asta started to cry while grabbing his head, "please stop. Please!" Begged Asta. The voice laughed and said "no." Asta continued to cry and rewatched the scene over and over again. The memory soon ended and everyone was left speechless. "This is the same thing as last time. It wasn't a dream." Said Marx. "I believe it has something to do with the curse." Said Nozel. Ilu who was crying after realizing what her brother witnessed two times in one day. "The poor boy went through too much." Said Julius patting Astas head. "Calm down Ilu, he won't have those visions again." Julius added noticing Ilus reaction. "Ilu, Ridder, I need to speak with you two about something important. It'll have to be in Dorothys glamour world." Said Nozel. Ridder looked at Nozel and nodded, while Ilu also nodded after wiping away her tears. "Okay." Was all Ilu said. "I can watch over him for the time being." Said Julius. "Thank you uncle Julius." Said Ilu. "Let's go to Dorothys base", said Nozel walking out of the room. Ridder followed Nozel and Ilu left after giving Asta a kiss on his forehead. "You may leave Marx, I heard you say that the memory wasn't a dream am I correct?" Asked Julius. "Yes Wizard King. Normally I know when it's a dream or not, this wasn't a dream." Said Marx. "That's because it was a premonition, it showed the worst possible outcome." Said Julius. Marx was shocked to hear what Julius said. "So you mean, it can truly happen?" Asked Marx scared. "It can if Asta goes down the wrong path, but it's very unlikely. I know it's unlikely because I trust him." Said Julius. Marx nodded and said nothing, shortly after he left the room. "Don't worry Asta, I'll make sure no evil will be in your heart." Said Julius while rubbing the sleeping boys hair. Nozel, Ridder, and Ilu could be seen flying on a mercury eagle, "why couldn't we just talk in that room?" Asked Ilu. "You'll find out later." Answered Nozel. "Nozel, don't tell me that 'it' was responsible for the curse." Said Ridder. "I'm afraid that might be the case. We arrived." Said Nozel. The three arrived at a base that was pink and purple in color, it was fairly large and had a beautiful architecture to it. Nozel knocked on the door and the door was opened by a orange haired tall teenager. "Oh I see we have guests, cousin Nozel, Cousin Ridder, and?.." said the Orange haired teen. "Ilu Staria." Said Ilu. "A beautiful name for a beautiful lady. My name is Kirsch Vermilion, the pleasure is mine." Said Kirsch on his way to grab Ilus hand, but Ridder grabbed his hand and crushed it. "Don't even think about it." Said Ridder giving Kirsch a threatening glare. Kirsch nearly pissed his pants because of the look Ridder gave him and backed off quickly. "We're here to see your captain, Dorothy." Said Nozel. "S-she's in her office." Said Kirsch rubbing his crushed hand. "Let's go." Said Nozel going to Dorothys office. "Don't you guys need directions?" Asked Kirsch. "I know where her office is." Said Nozel. Kirsch was dumbfounded by what Nozel said, but he quickly stopped thinking to see Ridder still glaring at him. "EEEE he's so scary." Thought Kirsch. The three arrived to Dorothys office and Nozel knocked on the door. The door opened to reveal a sleeping Dorothy, "she's so cute when she's asleep." Said Nozel. "She's always asleep." Said Ridder. "Dorothy!" Shouted Ilu hoping Dorothy would make up. Instead of Dorothy waking up the three were transported to Dorothys glamour world. "What brings you three here?" Asked Dorothy. "I need to use your spell to talk about something important, about Megicula, to be more specific." Said Nozel. "I understand." Said Dorothy seriously. "Who's Megicula?" Asked Ilu. "You'll find out soon. But first, according to the report of the curse it said Asta was cursed 13 years ago. Do you know anything about that Ilu?" Asked Nozel. "How could have Asta been cursed thirteen years ago? He's only twelve." Said Ilu. "I'm wondering the same thing as you, but according to what Nathan said the report is always right." Said Nozel. "What report?" Asked Ridder. Nozel handed him a piece of paper that has all the details about Asta. "That's impossible!" Shouted Ridder. "I'm as dumbfounded as you." Said Nozel. "I only remember my mother being cursed thirteen years ago, at the time she was pregnant with Asta." Said Ilu remembering what happened. "Could it be possible that along with your mother, Asta who was still a fetus was cursed as well?" Asked Ridder. "Even if he was cursed at that time why did the curse activate so late?" Asked Ilu. "In the report it says that certain hormonal changes unlocked a pathway for the curse to flow. Maybe at his age, puberty could have caused this." Said Ridder. "Ilu, do you know who cursed your mother?" Asked Nozel. "It was Elizabeth Kira." Answered Ilu. "That's not true. I believe it was a demon." Said Nozel. "How can you be so sure?" Asked Ridder. "The curse symbol is similar to the one mother had." Said Nozel. "What? Your mother was cursed?" Asked Ilu. "Ilu, truth is that my mother didn't die because of complications due to childbirth. She was cursed by a demon named Megicula." Said Ridder. "And why didn't you tell me! Do you know how much Noelle suffered because of that!" Yelled Ilu angrily. "It's because if anyone spoke about it in the outside world they'll get the same curse and die." Said Nozel. "What do you mean?" Asked Ilu. Nozel lowered his collar and showed a curse mark that was on his neck. "My mother wasn't the only one that was cursed that day, I was cursed as well. If anyone speaks about the curse they die, Dorothys spell is the only place where we can talk about this." Said Nozel. "This all still doesn't explain how a demon cursed Asta. I clearly remember that damn Kira cursing my mother." Said Ilu with anger. "I'm not sure myself. Maybe she and Megicula have ties? Although I remember a different woman having a pact with Megicula." Said Nozel "This is all too strange for me. If it was Elizabeth Kira, I'll love to kill her." Said Ridder. "As much as I want to kill her as well, we can't. Remember that she belongs to the most powerful family in the kingdom, if she would die it would cause many problems for the kingdom." Said Nozel. "Who cares? She cursed my mother, and not only that now my brother is suffering because of her!" Shouted Ilu angrily. "I understand your anger Ilu, trust me, I really do understand. But Nozel is right, we're in no position to pull a move like that." Said Ridder. "Someone can spy on her. If we find enough evidence that she does in fact have ties with a devil, we can have Damnatio put her on trial." Said Nozel. "And why would a Kira put another Kira on trial?" Asked Ilu. "Damnatio puts anyone on trials, he may be another royal who thinks he's superior to others, but he put his father on trial and had him imprisoned." Said Ridder. "She deserves to die!" Said Ilu angrily. "She does, but this is all we can really do." Said Ridder. Ilu was furious about the fact that they couldn't do much about a horrible person, in her opinion she deserved to be gone for good. "It's best to stay calm Ilu, think about the baby." Said Dorothy who noticed Ilus anger. "How can I stay calm when the woman who ruined my family is probably enjoying her life! She gets away with every sin she commits! She needs to die!" Yelled Ilu. Ridder hugged her to calm her down, but Ilu only responded by crying "Why! It's not fair! She cursed my mother, and not just her but my brother too." Said Ilu crying. "In the end these type of people get what they deserve." Said Ridder hoping she would calm down. Ilu continued to cry into Ridders chest without saying anything back. "Ilu, I promise to find any piece of information that could lead to Elizabeths downfall. I'll make sure she gets what she deserves." Said Ridder. "So will I." Said Nozel. "I'll also find out about her possible connections with Megicula, just trust us." Nozel added. Ilu stopped crying after a moment and said "I'll always trust you guys.". The other three present smiled and nodded. "That's all we had to talk about for now, just remember whatever we talked about here cannot be spoken of outside the glamour world." Said Nozel. The three all nodded signifying that they understood. "Thank you Dorothy we'll take our leave now." Said Nozel. "Alright bye everyone!" Said Dorothy in her cheerful attitude. The three arrived back into Dorothys office instantly "I think we should go take Asta back home." Said Ilu. "I agree." Said Ridder. The three left the base and flew back to the medical ward, once they arrived they saw Julius reading some files while sitting next to Astas bed. "About time you three arrived." Said Julius. "We had important matters to discuss." Said Nozel. "I'm guessing it had something to do with Astas curse" said Julius. "It did, well I think we should take Asta back home." Said Ilu. "Sounds good to me, I'm behind on my work." Said Julius. "See you guys later." Said Julius before teleporting away. Ridder approached Asta and picked him up, "It's so weird picking him up when he's this old." Said Ridder. "He really did grow a lot didn't he?" Asked Ilu. "He's gotten heavier too." Said Ridder. "Or maybe you just got weaker." Joked Ilu. "Impossible, I still work out my body." Said Ridder defensively. "I don't understand why you work out your body, just use your magic." Said Nozel. "Sounds like you're just jealous of my muscles." Said Ridder. "Working out is pointless when I can use my magic for any heavy lifting." Said Nozel a bit angry. "Calm down, it's not my fault you don't have muscles like mine." Ridder laughed. "Maybe if you worked out, Dorothy would love you even more" said Ilu. Nozel stayed quiet and thought about what Ilu said. "Looks like what you said might make him reconsider hehe." Giggled Ridder. "You're twenty eight and you still act like a child." Said Nozel seriously. "Someone has to be the joyful one in the family." Said Ridder making Nozel even more annoyed. "Let's just go back home, we haven't even had dinner yet and it's already nine." Said Nozel. "I agree, I'm starving." Said Ilu. "You're always starving, you continue to eat like how you do and you'll get fatter and fatter." Said Ridder without thinking twice. Ridder lightly laughed at what he said but then he felt a strong blow to his head. "Are you forgetting that I'm eating for two?!" Yelled Ilu. "Ow! I'm sorry!" Apologized Ridder. "You better be!" Shouted Ilu. "Now take us home, I'm hungry and tired. Today has been exhausting." Said Ilu. "I can agree with that." Said Nozel. "Alright let's go back home." Said Ridder. The three left the medical ward and walked there way to the Silva palace, once they arrived they saw Liebe, Noelle, Nebra, and Solid sitting in the living room looking anxious. "We're back!" Announced Ridder. "Brother/Ridder!" Said the four. "Is Asta alright?" Asked the four. "He's fine, he's just asleep due to fatigue." Answered Nozel. "Poor boy, we were all worried for him." Said Nebra. "Nothing to worry about anymore, I'll leave him on his bed so he can sleep peacefully." Said Ridder walking towards Astas room. "I'm starving, I hope the chefs are still here because I could eat a whole buffet." Said Ilu walking towards the dining room. "I could eat something too, will you four join?" Asked Nozel. "All this worrying made me forget about dinner. I could eat." Said Solid "Same here." Said Nebra. "I'm going to check on Asta." Said Noelle. "I'll come with you pigtails." Said Liebe floating alongside Noelle. "Alright then." Said Nozel. Noelle and Liebe travelled down the hallway towards Astas room, once they arrived they saw Ridder leaving the room, "what are you two doing here?" Asked Ridder. "We wanted to check up on Asta." Said Liebe. "I understand that you're still worried, but trust me he's fine. He just needs to rest." Said Ridder. "Can we at least see him to be sure?" Asked Noelle "Fine." Was all Ridder said before opening the door to Astas room to show a sleeping Asta hugging one of his blankets. "He looks cute when he sleeps." Said Noelle. "It's good to see him all better now." Said Liebe with relief. "We should leave him alone now, the boy needs his privacy." Said Ridder. The two kids nodded and left towards the dining room. Ridder followed shortly after glancing at Asta one more time. When they arrived they saw Ilu eating multiple dishes while everyone else eating one dish calmly. "Seems like the chefs didn't leave yet." Said Ridder as he sat down on his chair. "We stayed because no one had eaten dinner today, and we couldn't leave without having everyone fed." Said one of the chefs. "That's very thoughtful of you." Said Ridder. "It's our duty sir." Said the chef. Soon one of the servants served the three who arrived their food and asked "where's Asta?" "He's asleep at the moment, it would be best to make something for him in case he wakes up. He hasn't eaten and he needs the energy." Answered Ridder. "Of course sir." Said the servant.

Astas pov
Fucking great. I'm in the same dark void again. "I'll be back soon, don't think you won just yet." Said that damn voice. "Who are you! What do you want from me!" I asked angrily. "I am the truth. I do not want anything, I only offer you knowledge of what you will become." Said the voice. "Stop lying!" I shouted. The voice didn't respond. What do I do now? I'm just floating in this dark place, "Asta, sweetheart. Please wake up." Said a familiar voice. "Who said that?" I ask looking for the source of the voice. "Come on wake up already. Mommy's little boy needs to eat to grow strong." Said the voice. "What? Mom? It can't be you!" I said angrily. "It's me sweetie, just know that I'll always take care of you. Now wake up." Said the voice. Mom? MOM! My body jolts up and I slowly process what my eyes take in. I'm in my room? "Mom?!" I shout. Wait who am I kidding. Mom's gone, I need to get over it already and just focus on getting my revenge and becoming Wizard King. I try to get out of bed, but my body feels so tired. I can taste something metallic in my mouth, it tastes pretty bad. I slowly use all my arm strength to remove the blankets covering me, why is it so hard to move? Once I remove the blankets and turn my body to get up from my bed. I try to get up, but my legs are having trouble responding, to my good luck I heard someone come into my room. "Bakasta be careful. You still haven't recovered, so you shouldn't move." Said a voice that brought relief to me. I look to see Noelle holding a plate of food and a glass of water. "You need eat. You lost a lot of blood and right now you need to rest and eat." Said Noelle. "Thank you princess." Was all I said. I still couldn't get that horrible sight out of my head, I know it wasn't real, but it felt like it truly happened. Noelle approached me and left the glass of water and plate on the nightstand near my bed. Noelle sat next to me and told me "why aren't you eating? The food's right there." She said pointing at the plate. "I can barely move my arms." I told her. Noelle smacked her forehead and blushed for some reason. "Alright, I guess I'll feed you." She proposed. "Thank you, Noelle." I said. Noelle picked up the plate and used the fork to pick up the food, she then brought the fork near my mouth and said "Open your mouth, you should be grateful that someone from royalty is feeding you." I smiled at what she said and decided to take a bite. After the bite I realized how hungry I was. In my opinion Noelle was feeding me too slowly, but I liked how she fed me. After finishing my food I grabbed the glass of water and chugged the whole thing in a single breath. I really needed all of this, I'm still hungry though. My thoughts were interrupted by Noelle, "Asta? Before I entered your room I heard you say 'mom'. I'm sorry if I remind you of anything, but didn't your mom die?" Asked Noelle. I knew Noelle knew my mother died, but she never knew the reason. Noelle didn't know about Lucifero and what happened to Liebe. "She did die. Why do you ask?" I asked her. "Because you shouted 'mom' it made me worry for a bit." Answered Noelle "you never told me how she died. You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable though" said Noelle. I sighed because Noelle did deserve to know, she is my best friend after all. "You deserve to know. When I was seven, me and Liebe used to live with our mom. Our mom had a curse which drained mana and vitality from anyone who came near her, me and Liebe were an exception because we don't have mana. So, both me and Liebe were playing outside our home. As we were playing Liebe started to feel pain and he no longer could move. I quickly called my mother for help, because I didn't know what to do. I was a small stupid boy after all. My mother quickly arrived seeing Liebe being controlled by a fucking bastard. The current demon king: Lucifero, took control of Liebes body. Because of my moms curse Lucifero was forced to leave Liebes body, but before he was gone he used Liebes arm to kill my mom." I told her while crying because of recalling the moment. "And all I could do was watch like a scared and weak idiot I am!" I shouted while crying even harder. I felt Noelle hug me, and I hugged her back. "You're not weak Asta. You're the most strongest person I know, and your mother gave her life for yours and Liebe. You told me that my mother would rather give up her life just so I could have one, your mother did the same. It was nobodies fault, except for Luciferos." Said Noelle who kept the hug. "From that day on, I promised to kill Lucifero and make sure no one I love ever dies." I told her. "And I will help you with everything." Noelle told me. "Thank you Noelle. Thank you." I cried into her shoulder. "No need to thank me Asta. I think you should go back to sleep, you need the rest." Noelle said. "Alright, I am still tired." I said. "Well I'll head to bed too, I'm tired." Said Noelle before getting up from my bed. "See you tomorrow." She said. "See ya." I said before lying back down and quickly falling asleep.
