Chapter 4

Ridder pov
Well it looks like I'm back home. It has been a while, I think the last time I stepped foot in this house was half a year ago. I landed the steel eagle and helped Asta and Ilu down the eagle. "Good morning master Ridder." Said the butler while bowing. I waved my hand and greeted back. "Good morning to you too, Timothy. These will be our guests, I'm sure you remember Ilu. This is Ilus younger brother they will be staying with us for a while." I told the butler. "Good morning Timothy" said Ilu. I saw Asta hiding behind Ilu, I think he's not used to this new environment. I offer the small boy my hand so he could feel a bit more comfortable, "don't worry Asta, this is a custom you don't have to feel uncomfortable here." I told the boy. Asta only nodded and took my hand. We entered the Silva palace, I was hoping everyone in my family was present because I need to explain the situation to them. I'm sure most of them will understand, but what worries me is Solid. Solid always has a stick up his ass, fathers habits rubbed off on him. "Timothy, can you please bring my family to the living room." I asked my butler. "Of course master Ridder." My butler replied. Surprisingly enough almost everyone arrived, except for Solid. Maybe Solid is not at home right now? "What's up brother?" Asked nebra. "As you can tell I brought guests over, you guys already know Ilu" I said pointing at Ilu who was waving. "I also brought her younger brother, his name is Asta. Asta can you please introduce yourself." I asked Asta. Asta only nodded, I could feel his grip on my hand tighten, "Don't worry Asta, they're your friends." I told him. Asta only nodded and introduced himself "My name is Asta Staria, I am Ilus brother. I hope we can get along." Said the boy. "At first I thought he was your secret love child" joked Nozel. Nozel what the fuck. "No, he's not. Please don't make jokes like that Nozel." I said a bit annoyed. Nozel started to laugh a bit, I saw Noelle approach Asta and she started to introduce herself as well "Hi Asta! I'm Noelle Silva. It's nice to meet you" Said my baby sister. "Hi Noelle! It's nice to meet you too!" exclaimed Asta. They just met and already got along well, heh. "Big sis Ilu!!!" Noelle yelled while running to hug Ilu, "Hi Noelle. My you've grown taller since the last time I saw you." Said Ilu. "Hehe you really think so?" Asked Noelle. "Yes I do think so." Said Ilu with a smile. After the adorable scene, I asked Nozel if me,ilu, and him could speak privately. I think he deserves to know Astas situation. "What do guys need to talk about?" Asked Nozel. "It's about Asta." Ilu said. "Ilus mother had a curse on her Nozel." I said. "When she had the curse she was also pregnant with Asta. Luckily she managed to give birth to him successfully, but due to her curse Asta was born without any Mana. Over time he grew up healthy, but his mothers curse which took away mana and vitality got stronger." I paused because the next part is a lot of information. Even for Nozel who's pretty Intelligent, this new information for him can shock him. "Promise me whatever I say here stays here." I said to Nozel. "Of course brother." Nozel said back. "As Asta was growing up he and his mother found a devil." When I said that Nozels eyes widened, it was obvious that took him by surprise. "The devil was injured and what seemed to be looking like a child. Asta told Ilu that the devil was around his age. They helped the devil, named him, and made him part of the family. Over time Asta and the devil became more like brothers. 2 days ago the devils body got controlled by another devil named Lucifero. According to Nachts Intel Lucifero is the current demon king. Using the weaker devils body he killed Astas mother, but before their mother died she sealed Astas devil brother inside a book." "Why are you telling me all this?" Asked Nozel. "Because tomorrow I will take Asta and the book to ask the demon some questions." I replied. "Wh-what no Ridder you can't take Asta, what if he gets hurt?" Said Ilu. "Don't worry Ilu, he won't get hurt. I'll sacrifice my life if I have to for Astas safety." I told her. Ilu only nodded, I knew she was nervous but I held her hand and gave it a slight squeeze to reassure her. "Man you guys make feel like a third wheel." Said Nozel. I gave Nozel a cold look and he walked out of the room while sweating. "Sorry about Nozel." I said to Ilu. "It's no big deal, Ridder. But, why are you holding my hand?" She asked. "I could tell you were nervous, so I did it to reassure you. I promise you Asta will be fine." I said to her with a smile while still holding her hand, she asked me why I'm holding her hand and yet she doesn't try to release her own grip. "Thank you. You know, you really are sweet. If I'm being honest I thought the only child you had a soft spot for was your sister." Said Ilu. "I believe that kids need a good environment to grow up in, with good role models to look up to they aspire to be greater than them. I want to help Asta achieve his goal, I will help him become Wizard King and avenge your mother when he's strong enough. I know he doesn't have any magic in a world where magic is everything, but something tells me he's special." I said to Ilu. Ily only looked at me with tears in her eyes, she gave me a smile so beautiful it reminded me of my love for her. "Thank you. Thank you so much Riddy." She said. "Riddy?" I questioned. "Hehe, I think I'll call you Riddy from now on." Said Ilu. "Riddy huh? Well I like it." I commented. She gave me a kiss on the cheek, "take that as a thank you." She said. I dared something I thought I would never have the balls to do, I leaned down and gave her a kiss on her forehead. "And take that as a thank you for giving me the chance to help Asta, and for appearing in my life." I said the last part quietly. Her smile only grew larger and that made me smile too. "Well, I think we should see what the kids are up to." I said "yeah let's see how the kids are getting along" Ilu said. We both went back to the living room hand in hand looking for Asta and Noelle.
