S3 Chapter 7: Encounter

The city of Unisberg was past some of its busiest times of the year and the winter drew to close opening the gates to a bountiful spring. The election results were only three weeks away, as March drew on. Today was most certainly filled with the antics of Heroic Spirits being among the people, Masters included. Shou and Heracles had gone on their newly established walks that usually included a variation of Nero, Lanling or Caster of Midrash from time to time. Julius continued his training in an effort to increase his survival against a Heroic Spirit encounter with MHXA and Suzuka. However today, for Adam today was special, him and Archer of Inferno have a bit of a plan in play.

"Look, it's her again, and I think that's her Master!"

"Aw, lucky, what if I asked her to be my girlfriend?"

Pip and Tim watch Archer and Adam from across the street licking their ice pops from the local candy shop.

"Agh, Pip you can't do that!" Tim shouts, almost dropping his raspberry popsicle.

"W-why not! I am going to do it!"

"But what about cooties dude?"

Pip freezes up a second before turning a shade lighter than Pip's treat, retorting with, "I give my mom hugs and I'm still fine, it's time to grow up Tim, I am going to be a man."

Tim,"But we're only eight!"

Pip has already begun making his way to the cross walk with his face full of determination leaving Tim behind before Tim reluctantly chases after him.

The first Master and Archer of Inferno enter Go Games, the local game store, and are greeted by Jeff.

"Two copies today huh, how's it going Mr. Master?"

"Ah, everything is good," Adam replies casually.

"They're the special edition copies correct?" Archer questions somewhat antsily.

"Um lets see," Jeff says looking at the two games, "Yeah, Coastline Fighter Definitive Edition and Go Game Exclusive Sign Fantasy."

Archer gives a sigh of relief she reserved the right copies considering that the games had a limited window to be purchased. Adam, having just looked at an advertisement, goes to grab three games from the month prior.

Pip and Tim enter the store seemingly to no one's surprise. Archer and Jeff greet them, but what wasn't a common occurrence was Pip marching straight up to the Heroic Spirit.

"Oh, how may I help you young Lord?"

Pip's heart skips a beat at Archer giving him her full attention, something that hasn't happened in the last half year when she patched his knee after he scraped outside the game store.

"You can do it Pip," Tim, having come to terms, cheers his friend on.

"Um, um, Mrs. Gamer lady... will um..." Pip stammers and twists his ankles.

Archer stands there awaiting the boy to express himself, Adam is already coming over, and Jeff has turned away to give the little man his time.

"Will you please be my girlfriend!" Pip blurts out.

Archer, slightly taken aback, kneels down with a gentle smile before giving her answer.

"How admirable of you to express your desires to me, but that simply cannot be, there is someone who already has my heart," Archer of Inferno says.

"Oh... well um, that's cool," Pip says there awkwardly, before Tim comes in to swoop him up.

"Thanks for your time Gamer lady! We'll be leaving now!"

Tim leads Pip out the store and off to their next destination as Archer gets up happily.

"Wow, didn't expect that to happen today," Adam says carrying the games he went to get.

"What a cool little dude," Jeff nods, taking the games Adam brought over, "Tomomon, Red, Blue and Green versions, nice."

"Yeah, I have three servants back at home that might enjoy something chill like these," Adam says proudly that he's making gamers out of his servants. Perhaps his dream gamer league team was in sight, something that had to be put on the backburner when becoming the mage he is today.

"Watching them get through the court leaders would be quite enjoyable," Archer adds.

"Yeah? Well rumor has it the next games will be in a whole other region due to an easter egg at the beginning of the game, uh that's going to be 210, but yeah I look forward to seeing what they do," Jeff says, finishing up the purchase.

Adam having paid for the games, and saying his goodbyes with Archer who was thinking fondly of her husband from the past and the courage Pip displayed, the two made their way back home. Opening the door to Go Game, and stepping out, the two could barely hold in their excitement. An ass swoops down and crashes into an unaware Adam sending him skidding down the street. Archer of Inferno rushes in to assist his Master, only to be washed over with confusion and embarrassment at the sight she is witnessing.

"Ow, ow, ow, how cou-- what?!" A what can be argued as scantily clad woman with lush black hair, and adorned in rings of gold and fine jewels, comes to realize she is sitting on Adam's pancaked head.

Swiftly floating away she vocalizes her displeasure, "H-how could you touch me in such a perverse manner! You need to watch where you're going!"

Adam getting up, still trying to process what had happened responds, "W-what I, I can't even right now."

"Miss, as someone who saw everything it was you who had hit my Master," Archer steps forth.

"Huh? Like anyone would take an oni's word in court to begin, stay out of my lawsuit like a good servant," the flying woman says before turning her attention back to Adam.

Archer of Inferno was generally polite, and sweet. Actively seeking to be her best, and well tempered like the steel she fights with. However, it was at this moment that a match was lit and the wooden beams holding her together began to wither. Her eyebrow twitched.

"Okay, before things get out of hand, look lady, we don't need to make a big deal out of this. Just keep going on with what you were doing and so will we," Adam says, having jumped in between the supposed victim and his Archer.

"Hmm, bold of you to make demands of a goddess, the only way I would even consider the idea is at a price you cannot even af--"

"That's enough, sigh, I told you not to go so fast around here for exactly this reason."

"W-what?! Aw come on now," the woman pouts a little.

Adam and Archer look up to see a young man descending from the sky slowly on a blue and gold ancient looking boat. His figure matched his position above the others, his expression lax, and skin coconut brown. What could be the most important detail was the unmistakable red symbols that glowed ever so slightly against the evening sun. There were command seals on this man's right hand.

"Huh, another Master?" Adam thinks aloud.

"That's right! He's my Master and mine alone," the woman flies up beside the boat that looked none other than hers when the two were side by side.

"Alright that's enough out of you Archer, we already made enough of a ruckus as is," the now Fourth Master in Unisberg says.

"Hmph, hear that? You two have been let off for now, now let's go, I hear the museum has fine gems worthy of my collection," the flying woman starts to float off in excitement.

"See you around the other Master," the man says as the boat carries him off.

Adam and Archer of Inferno look at each other in a state of surprise. The city of Unisberg now has another Master, something that hasn't happened in over four years. What shinanigens could possibly arise with such a dynamic duo roaming the city? What could the grail be up to now, wherever it is, and how will Julius and Shou handle the news? Many exciting questions have stirred up the mage world of Unisberg once again.
