I really like tea Catherine!" I manage to say this, in the most confident way possible."Glad you do." She places the tray in the small table in the centre of the three couches and sits. Ella grabs a butter cookie. "No Daniel, I'm not gonna kill you if you eat one of my butter cookies." Ella can't contain the laughter and neither me. I awkwardly grab one and get a wink from Ella. "But Daniel, what are you studying?" She pours tea in the three cups.
"English Literature..." I answer.
"Oh by the way, are the grades out?" Catherine asks.
"Yes they are! Still haven't told you about them!" Ella says enthusiastically.
"Were they good?" Catherine asks us.
"They kinda were..." I answer, taking a sip of the tea.
"Kinda good for him is like 18, 19... Even 20..." Says Ella.
"Wow!" Her mom stops drinking her tea. "That's what I call amazing grades!"
"He is amazing!" Ella praises, making me blush.
"How were your grades Ella?" Catherine asks.
"Brilliant as always..." I intervine, making her blush.
"Stoooooop..." She whines making me laugh.
"Like how?" Her mom asks.
"Like 18, 19 and 20!" I answer.
"I'm so proud of both of you!" Catherine places her cup of tew on the table and stands up to hug us. We do the same and Ella is the first one to get one.
"I'm so proud of you and I love you so much!" Catherine says while looking at me, I smile and she smiles too. "Come here Daniel!" I hug her. She's 2 taller than Ella and her hair smells like cake, which I didn't mind because I love the smell of cakes. We pull away. "I'm proud of you too! I'm glad that my daughter found herself an intelligent man. Shy but intelligent..." We chuckle and sit down again. "Are you from here Daniel?"
"Yes, I live in Greenwich..." I answer.
"Not that far then! Are your parents in London?" She asks me.
"Oh no, they're actually in Mexico..."
"When are they arriving?" She asks.
"On the 19th..."
"You're staying with us then!" Catherine smiles, at least seeming happy to know.
"Oh, don't worry-" But I'm cut off by her.
"Yes, you are!" She insists.
"You have no choice, darling..." Ella winks at me.
"Thank you then, Catherine..." I smile, taking a last sip of my tea. "Catherine, would you mind if I called my parents?"
"Is that even a question? Of course you can!" Catherine smiles.
"Thanks..." I stood up and go to the hallway.
Ella's POV
Right when Daniel left to the hallway, my mom got up and sat on the couch where I was sitting.
"Is he always like this?" She asks.
"Most of the times... Except when he's with me..." I smile.
"He's so different..." My mom comments.
"Yeah... he's very sweet..." I smile.
"And he's gorgeous! And so well-dressed!" I giggle at her comments.
