The sky was getting dark and the woods were moist. The cool wind blew across your face, drying the cold sweat oozing from your face. The moment you hit the ground, you felt a pain in the calf. When you were about to lean forward, a strong arm held you firmly. Fu Heng's anxious voice came from the top of your head.
Fu Heng: Are you hurt?
Xiu Ying: I hurt my calf.
You were hurt badly. It was hard for you to even move forward. You were carried on the back by Fu Heng the next moment.
Xiu Ying: Fu Heng...
Fu Heng: Don't move. I'll carry you, so I can get out of here quickly.
Fu Heng: It's getting dark soon. You don't want to spend the night here, do you?
Fortunately, the summer night comes later, and the moon rises early, so that you wouldn't lose sight of the Road. On Fu Heng's back, your heart beating wildly for fear was gradually calmed.
Xiu Ying: I found that I was really unlucky. Everyone else was fine, but I almost died. You were there fortunately. Fu Heng, what were you doing there?
Fu Heng: Today's my day off.
Xiu Ying: Were you there to see the waterfall, too?
Fu Heng: Sure.
(Actually, that's not true. I knew you were coming to the waterfall and wanted to look out for you from afar. That's why I was there. It was just not appropriate for me to say that now.)
Before it was completely dark, you saw fire ahead of you. It was the guards in the palace. You realized that you were still on Fu Heng's back. You wanted to come down, but you were stopped by Fu Heng.
Fu Heng: Can you walk? Just stay there and stop moving.
Half an hour later, you leaned against the bed. The physician took your pulse and bandaged your wound. Through the hanging bead curtain, the hall was full of people. It was silent. After a while, the physician reported to the Emperor.
Imperial Physician: Your Majesty, Her Highness' calf has been bruised and needs to be re-bandaged every day before she could walk. She will be fine.
Queen Rong: Fortunately, Fu Heng happened to be nearby, otherwise it would be bad.
Emperor: [Lowering his voice] How did the princess fall off a cliff all of a sudden?
Queen Rong: Your Majesty, I've ordered people to check it. They said that it was because the railing was in disrepair. It often rains here so the wood was rotten.
Emperor: In disrepair? What's wrong with you people? How could this happen?
Such an accident shouldn't have happened. It must have been the incompetence of those servants. No wonder that the Emperor was furious. The steward of the Mountain Resort got down on his knees with cold sweat.
Steward: Your Majesty, I've been trying my best to maintain the Mountain Resort and never dare to take it lightly! That railing would fall, it should be because the wood is too poor, not because of my carelessness!
The steward was defending himself and suddenly a voice cut in.
Yin Zhen: How did the princess fall when she was walking?
Suddenly you heard Yin Zhen's voice. You were stunned a little, and replied after a while.
Xiu Ying: I felt a little slippery under my feet, so I tipped forward and reached out to hold the railing, but I didn't expect to fall along with the railing.
Yin Zhen: It hasn't rained in the past few days, and it was all right for everyone to walk by, but you slipped?
Emperor: You mean, someone tried to kill the princess?
