Soobin tried to forget that night as much as he could, but it was difficult when he was tortured with the god's existence. Yeonjun would never let him forget anything, and he could barely concentrate on his life. His studies were he'll because nothing got through his thought process.
Instead of getting through a usual study session, Soobin picked up his phone and decided to message Renjun. There was no guarantee that he'd respond immediately or at all, but Soobin wanted to talk to him anyways.

> I don't want him
> and we never slept together >:(Injun
> it's fine
> have him
> it's not like I was in love with him or whatever
> just… fuck youSoobin groaned lowly as Renjun very clearly blocked him after his last message. Just like that, he lost one of his closest friends. He tossed his phone beside him, not knowing what else to do. He was glad he was able to convince Seokhwa — at least he had his trust — but if Soobin tried to say anything about Yeonjun being Vici, he'd probably be called crazy.
There was no hope.
"I need to know this god's weakness," Soobin muttered, standing up from his bed and walking to the shelf. He got one of Seokhwa's folders — the one he was carrying around more recently, which indicated that they had the notes of the Shyre gods. He opened them, paging through until he found the page with a big heading. "The gods…"
Soobin paged until he saw the word a 'Vici' and stopped. The paragraph was short, and basically a repeat of what he already knew. There was nothing else. Soobin groaned, putting his hands to his face in defeat. There was nothing to these gods. Vici, or Yeonjun, would probably stop at nothing to get what he wants.
"I'm done for," Soobin muttered. "He values 'having fun' over me, anyways. He wants to remove everyone from my life. What an asshole."
Soobin closed the folder. He was afraid to fall asleep. What if Yeonjun visited him in his dreams again? He didn't want anything to do with that god at all — he lost his girlfriend and a close friend to hatred, and would soon lose Sanha, Seokhwa and any other close friend he had. He was lost, and had no idea what to do.
"Hey — you can rest, you know."
Soobin looked at his bed at the source of the voice and saw Yeonjun sitting on the white duvet. "Vici."
"I actually feel bad for doing what I did last night," Yeonjun said, standing up from the bed. "I don't regret Renjun, though. What a sweetheart. Pity I never loved him."
"You used him," Soobin said, his tone seething with anger. "You took his heart and used it. You knew he gets attached easily."
"I'm starting to regret hurting you," Yeonjun muttered. "The girlfriend was a must, though, because I can't have you with her in the way."
"Can you stop ruining my life? I get it, you want me," Soobin sighed, slumping in his seat. "What else do you want from me?"
"Your love."
"Clearly you're not used to human ways," Soobin crossed his arms. "Cool, my girlfriend is no longer here. Now what? I'm already alone. You had no reason to take my friends."
Yeonjun seemed to think for a moment before he hummed. "I wanted to weaken your will before taking you entirely. I'm a god — I'll want you for an eternity and longer. I'm not exactly appealing as the god of havoc and disharmony, but I'd like to think I have my worth as a human, at least. Even a god can find love, right?"
"You're more of a good person than you seem, seeing as you were once a protector of Earth," Soobin hummed. "What happens if Animus strikes again? Will you help?"
"Hardly," Yeonjun scoffed. "Liberal mindset calls for believing in yourself more than anything and that you are the master of your life — I'm part of a belief system, so not much people call on for the Shyre gods. Also, military weapons have evolved so far that I won't be needed, even if I am stronger than Animus's creatures."
"How long has it been since Animus last attacked?"
"Quite a few centuries," Yeonjun answered. "I'd say… 600 years? Around that long? I can't exactly recall, time is a bit iffy. Anyways, it's known that Vici is stronger than Animus."
"The Shyre gods seem amazing," Soobin muttered, looking over at Seokhwa's folder of notes. "So why are you on Earth, then? Boredom?"
"Exactly that," Yeonjun nodded. "I was wandering, looking for a victim, and instead found you — the most beautiful human. While you are physically attractive, I rather love your soul. It's filled with sin of man, and each sin makes it more beautiful. Anger… envy… pride… vice…"
Soobin felt his cheeks burn as he avoided eye contact. "Before you do anything, can you speak to Renjun? He's a friend I'd rather not lose. We've known one another for years, and I taught him Korean. Or at least do the thing where you erase his memory of you."
"If I do that, you will comply by my want for you," Yeonjun said. "I'm a god so I would never beg the mercy of a mortal. I'll get what I want."
"Sure, whatever," Soobin sighed, not paying attention to Yeonjun's words. "Just… give Renjun back."
He had no idea what he was getting into.
