"Oh, so petty."
Vici scoffed, avoiding eye contact with his sibling. "I'm not petty, okay? I… I just want to think for a bit."
"You wouldn't need time to think if you touched the goodness in your spirit—"
"What goodness? The humans resent me," Vici muttered, walking across the plain to reach the other side of the void used to observe Earth. "The only way to find my goodness again… is to accept me as a god again. I'm no longer a good god to them."
"Because you've changed and are now a god of mass destruction and hatred," Veni said quickly. "They don't know you as the god that protected its citizens with love and care. Instead, you instill dark energy inside them, making them hate each other for your own enjoyment. You've become despicable in your ways, and thus lost their trust."
"I can't lose the trust of those that don't exist."
"You lost Soobin's trust. Why bother with him at all, at this rate?"
"Because I love him."
"Nonsense, you're a god and he's a human."
Vici was silent, staring down at the void. "He's a human that I love."
"Maybe taking a more human approach to things, since you're in love with a human," Veni suggested. "After all, you're not a god to him. Soobin is a human who is unsure of his heart."
Vici fell silent once more. "He looks at me with a human heart, while I look at him as a god. I'm set as my values, while he is set by his environment."
"Which is why you should have mercy on him."

Two weeks passed since Soobin had last seen the god Vici, and he truly felt his absence. Seokhwa had returned and through a much-needed talk, Seokhwa clarified that he had no feelings for his best friend and they were able to overlook what had happened that night. While it was quite unforgettable, they managed to look at one another as friends again.
Regardless, Soobin grew to miss the god that often bothered him with innuendos of a love Soobin couldn't feel. Yeonjun, or Vici, was someone he thought was an important in his life's timeline. Although he had entered his life at an unwanted time and pace, he was there and would be part of Soobin's memory for a long time — provided that Vici didn't erase his memory.
Soobin was leaving the library at a late hour he couldn't be bothered to observe, and was practically the last person to leave, apart from the librarian. It was dark already, but the streets were safe as far as he could tell, so he didn't worry too much as he made his way to the bus stop.
As he walked to the pavement outside the large library, his eyes made contact with a tall figure standing underneath a lamp post, a lollipop pressing against his lips gently as he removed it from the orifice. Soobin's eyes brightened, recognising the figure immediately. "Vici…!"
"Don't call me that when I'm in my human form," Yeonjun said, putting the lollipop into his mouth for a moment. His lips were tinted red because of the cherry colourant, making his plump lips stand out even more. "Miss me?"
"Not really," Soobin replied with a cheeky smile as he approached the other. "You really meant to ignore me, huh? Didn't you miss me?"
"Time progresses quicker for us, so a week feels like a few hours at most," Yeonjun shrugged, "but yeah — I missed you. Felt weird."
"Why, because you're in love?"
"About that…"
"What?"
Yeonjun was quiet, staring down at the ground. He bit down on the lollipop, cracking a piece off from the rest. He pulled out the larger part still attached to the stick and tossed it into the bin nearby. He sighed as if he was still thinking about what to say. "Soobin-ah… you're human, and I'm not. My perception of… desire is different to mine. I'm a god. With the means, I'll take everything I want. What I want is to be with you, and… you don't want to be with me…—"
"I missed you too."
Soobin's cheeks were tinted red, matching the cherry colour of Yeonjun's lips. He avoided eye contact and Yeonjun wasn't shocked for too long before stepping forward. "Why did you miss me? You hate me."
"I don't hate you, I didn't want to make it seem that way," Soobin said quickly. "I'm sorry for disregarding your feelings. I was selfish. And… what happened between myself and Seokhwa wasn't serious. He was lonely and needed love at that moment. I'm not in love with him, or whatever. My heart's… open right now."
"Open for me…?"
Soobin smiled slightly. "Maybe."
Yeonjun showed a little smirk, and Soobin felt his heart flip in his chest. "That's good enough for me."
Yeonjun leaned forward and Soobin tilted his head on instinct, their lips meeting right in the middle. Soobin tasted the cherry sweetness against his lips, embracing the touch of his tongue to his own. Yeonjun seemed to take the lead, grabbing the side of Soobin's waist to tug him forward. Soobin wasn't easily dominated, however — he had both his hands on Yeonjun's hips, his thumbs gently caressing his exposed skin due to the crop sweater he wore.
"Let's not do this here," Soobin muttered, pulling away from the kiss. Yeonjun smirked, pressing their lips together again. Soobin yelped in shock, pulling away when he felt a hard object in his mouth. He tasted cherries. "Why did you…?"
"Didn't want it anymore," Yeonjun chuckled, stepping backwards. "We can't do anything right now, because someone is calling my name. I swear, I'll meet you soon. Just… keep missing me."
"No, don't leave me," Soobin said quickly, grabbing Yeonjun's wrist and pulling him closer. "You got what you wanted. I want you, and I want you to stay by me."
"You don't — not yet, at least," Yeonjun replied, softly placing their lips together. "It's because I was away for a while. You just felt my absence. You'll grow… conscious later. Hey, can you stop kissing me? I'm trying to talk."
"I'm sorry for disregarding your feelings, okay?" Soobin muttered against his lips. "I was just so… guilty. I felt bad for hurting you, even if what happened between Seokhwa and I wasn't serious. I don't know if I guilt-tripped myself into… falling in love—"
"Soobin-ah," Yeonjun laughed, pulling his lips away. "I have to go. You're very cute right now, but we'll talk later, okay?" Soobin kissed him again and Yeonjun smiled. "I'll take that as a yes. I won't be long."
"Don't take too long," Soobin muttered, finally drawing his hands away. Yeonjun chuckled walking past him quickly. Soobin followed him with his eyes, but when he turned around, Yeonjun had disappeared. His heart was thumping in his chest, but he had a smile on his face.
He hoped Yeonjun forgave him.
