Soobin sighed heavily as the morning light shone through the blinds of the room.

"It's ruined…"

The day was warm, the air was perfect — but everything was ruined. Seokhwa had left early in the morning, and for a very good reason. Things were tense after what had happened that night, and rather than talk about it, Seokhwa left. It was awkward thinking about his friend after what they had done.

Soobin only heaved a sigh, sitting up from the bed after putting off the shrill sound of the iconic Samsung alarm, and managing to get out. He had plans for the day, but had about two hours before his day really started. He had a class, so he checked the school board for any updates.

'Man jumps in front of cars on bridge, traffic to university area delayed due to investigation'

"Woah, that's morbid," Soobin muttered as he clicked on the link to the article.

'Jeong Hyeonseok, aged 42, was reported to have committed suicide on Daegyeol Bridge by walking in front of the vehicles speeding at about 97km/h. The suicide occured at around 10pm, and bystanders reported that he was shouting at 'voices' in a confused daze. Investigations are still being conducted. Traffic from Seoul National University to the outskirts are delayed, but it's steady.'

Soobin sighed, shaking his head as he closed the article. "Voices… probably Vici starting shit again…"

"You called, love?"

Soobin flinched as Yeonjun appeared on his bed as soon as he said his name. "Ah, you scared me…! Can't you just walk through the door?"

"That's boring," Yeonjun complained, rolling his eyes. "I'm not for walking through doors, per se, because I'm—"

"You're a god, I get it," Soobin sighed, walking out his room. Yeonjun was already on the living room couch, but Soobin expected it. He walked to the fridge, taking out a water bottle to drink.

Yeonjun watched in thought before finally speaking up. "You have a lot on your mind, baby. Wanna talk?"

"I'm fine," Soobin muttered, closing the fridge after putting the water back. "I didn't particularly call for you, you know. You can go ahead and do what you've been doing the whole time."

"I'd rather be doing you—"

"Gross."

"— but you seem to be satisfied already."

Soobin remained silent, looking at the ground. "I'd rather not talk about it. It's already awkard between the two of us."

Yeonjun scoffed slightly, looking off to the side. "What can I say, huh? I drive people to suicide, ruin marriages and break friendships every day. I'm not the best person either."

"So don't comment on it — it's not like I enjoyed it," Soobin said quickly. "Seokhwa is my best friend, and… I wanted to help him. He was feeling things, and I just wanted to help him."

"Seems we forgot that I want you," Yeonjun said as he stood up from the couch. "Once I latch onto someone, I won't let go until their mortal life ceases to exist. You're mine, Soobin."

"I belong to no one, okay? That's why I can do what I want," Soobin snapped, crossing his arms. "I'm still my own person, okay? You can want me however you want, but I'm still going to do what I want, because I'm not the one that's in love."

Yeonjun stopped in front of him. "Do you want me to ruin your life? Do all of this again? Make everyone hate you? That's what you want? I don't care if you hate me — you'll be mine. I'll get you — no matter what."

"You can't ruin it any further because I know you're the one that whispered to Seokhwa!" Soobin yelled. "You told him that he's lonely. You told him that he needed satisfaction. You manipulated his heart — and now he's gone."

"He won't be gone forever," Yeonjun scoffed. "I did no manipulating this time around. He was in need of love — and I was a fool for trusting you. I thought you wouldn't fall for it."

Soobin scoffed, walking away from him. "Trusting me — wow. So you did this to test me or something?"

"You don't know your place here yet," Yeonjun said quickly, his eyes flashing a slight red. "You're the one I want, Soobin. I will stop at nothing to make you mine. And no, you're not an object to me. My goal, ultimately, is to have your heart. The quickest ways aren't the most moral, but by nature I don't care."

"Can't you want someone else?" Soobin's tone sounded exasperated. "I'm tired of all this… confusion. I said I'd comply, and you said you'd stop harming those around me — yet you went and took away my best friend."

"I did nothing of the sort," Yeonjun hissed, becoming more angry as seconds passed. "Your friend wanted to fuck you, whether you want it or not. I waited to see your decision, and to see you agree… fuck, I'm allowed to be upset, okay?"

"Why are you upset?"

"Because I love you, god dammit!"

The room fell silent. Soobin didn't know what to say. "Vici…"

"The fact that you and your best friend did this has nothing to do with me — for once, I'm innocent," Yeonjun said. "I'm a god, but that doesn't mean I don't have feelings. I'm persisting because even if I want you, feelings have developed. I want you for you. But you can't see that."

Soobin looked down at the ground. He felt terrible — not just for sleeping with Seokhwa, but because he let Yeonjun down by doing so. "Hyung, I'm sorry. I want to make it up t—"

When he looked up, Yeonjun was gone. Soobin groaned tiredly, dropping his body onto the couch. He didn't know why he was suddenly getting soft for the god. Was it because of his sudden declaration? Was Soobin just so desperate for love? At the slight mention of someone having feelings for him, he grew weak at the thought.

Did Yeonjun really love him?

Or was he just trying to guilt trip him because he slept with his best friend?

"You probably won't want to talk to me, Vici," Soobin muttered to himself, but with intention, "but I'm sorry. I get it, you're in love with me. I'm sorry for disregarding your feelings. I should be less mean about this, but… we'll talk when you're up for it."

He didn't come back.
