Out of Reach
Heejin's POV
Here I was at the grocery once again. I went to get some soju since I was honestly ready to drink so much that I'd be passed out till tomorrow afternoon. I needed it. I didn't have work until next week so I decided to have a night with alcohol. I payed for my soju and walked out of the grocery. 5 bottles in my eco bag and a couple of ice cream tubs to eat.
Looking around, I saw families and couples happy walking around. Some had bags of clothes, others, take out from having dinner together.
Entering different shops I saw people working hard despite some customers being annoying and rude. All the people just carrying on with their lives, their jobs.
Everyone around me was so busy, fierce, hard working, yet here I was an ex-CEO of a big company. A "high-up" person walking around the mall with ice cream and soju to get drunk. Both of them to surpress the pain of my deep wounds.
I gave it up all because I just couldn't handle it anymore. It was too late for me to try and do business again. I had goals to run to but my feet just couldn't move towards it.
