Happy?
Heejin's POV
"Are you alright Heejin?" Mr. Kang asked and I nod "Mm I'm alright." I say and put on a smile.
"You can talk to me if ever you want to Heejin~ah." He says soflty with a smile. "Thank you ahjusshi. But for now I'm alright just thinking hard about something." I say and he nods.
"Okay Heejin~shi. Now come on and finish up let's have dinner before you go home." He says and takes two coats.
I always had a great time with ahjusshi. Despite having co-workers in my jobs I never really got close. They were all were just acquaintances to be quite frank. Mr. Kang was the only one who really did his best to get closer and I was thankful.
"Heejin~ah how are you?" He asked with concern. "What do you mean ahjusshi? I'm fine." I say with confusion in my voice.
"It's been years Heejin, years. I just wanted to ask how you are. How you're holding up." He says and I smile softly yet sadly "Honestly?" I ask and he nods "Honestly." He replies.
"It was hard. Frankly it's still hard now." I start off. "You already know my story, and my promise. I'm doing best to keep that promise." I say and he sighs
"Heejin~ah I know it's tough but... don't you think they'll be happier knowing you are happy too." He says. A tear slowly falls from my eye.
