Why me?
Heejin's POV
Water started filling my eyes creating tears. Tears of pain, despair, and regret. He immediately comes to my side and makes me face him.
"Heejin~ah." He says sadly and I lunge forward to hug him. "Ahjusshi it's so painful, so hard. I did my best to love them, I did my best to learn and run as fast and hard as I could to the finish line. B-bbut I couldn't reach it." I cried and he rubbed my back.
"Heejin~ah you are one strong lady. You are here still trying to live life not trying to end it. You did you're best and I'm sure they know that. I know that you ran hard." He says reassuring me.
"Why did it have to be me?" I cry softly and he strokes my hair in a comforting manner.
"Heejin~ah please remember that you did nothing to deserve this alright. They love you so much. I will say this again. You still trying your best to live despite all you've been through. They are proud." He says and holds my shoulders. He pulls away and looks at me with a tender look.
"Thank you ahjusshi for not giving up on me." I say and he smiles. "You're always welcome dear. Now come let's go and pay." He says sweetly and we both stand up to leave.
As we walked to the exit I spotted a familiar figure typing away on a window table near the entrance. He caught my eyes with me but our eye contact left as soon as it came.
