Claire sat in her doctors office and tried not to bounce her leg nervously. She had been waiting for nearly forty-five minutes for the results. She refused to go home and sit and wait for a phone call. She wanted to know now.
So she waited and waited and waited some more. She got up and got herself a cup of coffee from a vending machine. She visited the N.I.C.U. She hadn't stayed long. The little forms just made her think about the one possibly growing inside of her.
Finally, she went back to the waiting room. She sat and waited looking at the time on her phone. She opened her phone and went to her photos, flipping through all of the pictures that were now filled of her and Pierce or just Pierce. Some she had used in her artwork, some she saved just for herself.
How was it suddenly that she wanted a future with this man? She had sworn off love, marriage, kids and now here she was. Pregnant?
