Chapter Twenty

Texas!! It was October 1st and we were finally in Texas. Maddie was thrilled, and in a few days, we were headed to Oklahoma.

Today was an extremely busy day, though. The girls had an interview this morning and this afternoon. I was currently with them at the radio station while they were getting ready.

"What time is our interview with Morgan?" Maddie asks.

"3:00" I say. Were leaving here to go there, and we can get lunch in the way" I explain.

"Whataburger?" She asks.

"Of course" I reply. She pumps her fist in the air. There was a knock at the door. It was the producer for the show.

"You girls almost ready?" He asks.

"Almost. We'll meet you out there" I answer. He nods, and closes the door.

"I'm ready to roll" Tae says.

"Me too" Maddie adds, zipping her boot. We all walked out to the radio area. They were interviewing with DJ Cody Cruise. I always high five and hugged them both before before went out to to anything, then I stood behind the glass and watched the interview.

"Houston, this is DJ Cody Cruise and we've got a treat for you today. Joining us in the studio, the best duo in country music, Maddie and Tae" He says, a few people cheer and the girks sit down with him.

Hr asked a couple questions about music and their writing and their new album then he started asking about tour.

"So, you've been on the road with Morgan Wallen for a little over a month now, correct?" He asks.

"Yes, that is correct. We kicked off tour on August 20th" Tae answers.

"And how has that been?".

"Incredible. I mean, Morgan is the biggest name in country music right now, and we were honored when he asked us to join him. It's been a blast. We've known him a long time, so it's like a party everyday for us" Maddie explains.

"That's awesome. You guys did a duet with him last night. Is that a main part in the show now?".

"Well, you'll have to come see" Tae replies. He chuckled a little.

"So, there is a question everyone wants to know here, but..it may be a little personal but we thought you all might know the answer" He says. I can see the girls look at each other.

"Okay.." Maddie says.

"So, Morgan Wallen has been seen kissing someone you're very close too. Is your tour manager dating Morgan Wallen?". My heart sank. Tae looked over at me through the glass. I didn't move. She turned back around.

"You know, Cody. Our manager is Spencer Stiles, and she is absolutely incredible. We love her, but...we are not going to be answering any questions regarding her personal life. It's not our place to say" Tae answers, respectfully.

"Exactly. We are not going to confirm or deny anything between anyone. What we will say is, we are all very close friends on this tour and we all love each other. That's it" Maddie continues.

"Great answer" He says. "Well, thank you girls so much for joining me today. You can catch these two in the road with Morgan Wallen. Make sure to check check out".

The interview ended and the girls joined me again.

"Dude, what the hell was that?" I ask. They both throw up their hands.

"No idea. We've never been asked anything like that" Maddie answers.

"Let's just get out of here" I say. We gather everything we brought with us and headed out to our Uber. "Thank you guys for not saying anything. I...don't really know what I'd say if i was even asked that question".
