Life can flash before your eyes in just a blink. People will come and go, and some will leave but stay in your heart forever. But there's always two risks; the feelings will fade away, or grow stronger each day. What if you love someone too much? What if they're no good for you,but they become as addictive as a drug to the point where your mid tells your body you need them.
Violet was a drug that Dallas needed. That every woman he wakes up beside can't do any good as she once did. It was like a high being around her, she grew up into a woman that every touch became magnetic. Looking in the mirror became something that needed effort. He realized he was the one who barely changed, that never grew up.
Dallas left with Sylvia to New York two weeks after Violet left. The feeling of being trapped in the past became painful, but maybe going back to where it began could change it all. Maybe he could take it all back and act like nothing since he was sixteen had ever happened.Clara Violet eloped with James a month after their arrival to California. James at a Law firm, Clara finishing college. Dallas was something she tried to push into the back of her mind. She would write back and forth to Sodapop and Ponyboy every week for the past year. Sodapop had left with Katherine to Virginia a few days after she left. Ponyboy rekindled a relationship with Cherry Valance, and Two-Bit had a blonde named Liz. But life goes on, and you can never go back to the way things were.
"James?" Clara breathed through as James kissed down her neck.
"Mhm?" His voice mumbled.
"I'm going to Tulsa."
"What?" He pulled back.
"I need to clear my head."
"That's not a really great place to go for something like that." He chuckled a bit.
"My mother called, she's sick."
"I'll take off work for the weekend and-"
"James," She cut him off. "I need alone time."
"Why don't you ever tell me what's going on in your head?"
"James-"
"No, stop. I'm trying to be here for you, but you push me away."
"James it's not like that."
"You still love him don't you?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Clara I'm not stupid!" His voice rose.
"James I know you're not."
"I love you Clara, but please tell me the truth."
"What do you want me to tell you?" Her voice shocked near tears,
"Is Arabella mine?"
