Once there was a night

Beneath a moonlit sky

I came across a girl

Whose eyes could hold no lie

The night before the New Year

On the bridge of dreams

This girl I saw

An angel it seems

The angel smiled

As I grew near

It caught me off guard

The last I expected

Encounter of a beauty

All but through and dejected

Estella was her name

Its meaning, she wore it well

She breathed of light, draped in sheer

Celestial beauty, who could quell?

Introductions were brief

I felt shaken to the core

I thought I recognized her face

Though I'd never seen her before

Something about her eyes

And the way she smiled

Hooked itself onto my mind

And made me need more

Then we got to talking

Getting me addicted

To the rhythm of her voice

Nursing me blindingly

On the way she said my name

And when she smiled

Nothing made much sense

Where else could I go?

The rules do not apply

I didn't know

And I remember telling her stories

About me, about my childhood

I don't know why I trusted her

But I knew that I could

So darling take it slow

We could stay here till dawn arrives

Or if it comes first

Until sleep sets in our eyes

And in that moment only

Did I think to myself

"It can't be love yet,

But it sure is something else"
