———————————————————————————Haru's POV: It's been a few days since Hana asked how I was able to deck Kaito so hard and I have been doing my best to dodge the question but Hana was very persistent on founding out. "I have to say Haru, Hana is really determined to finding out how you became so strong." said Yuki who was currently sitting on my desk and reading a book "Well, Hana has been a bit of a stubborn person, one time when we were little, someone stole her chocolate bar and she was determined to find the culprit behind it. She eventually found out who stole it after almost entire week." I said as I read manga on my bed. "So that means she not going to stop until she finds out?" "That sounds about right, I know I'll have to tell her eventually but until the time is right, we just have be extra careful around Hana." "Alright." Me and Yuki continued to do our own things when the sound of footsteps came close to my door and I quickly told Yuki to hide, to which she did. The door opened and Midori came in "Hey nii-chan, are you busy?" "No, why is there something you need?" I asked as I stood up from my bed "Could you go out with me and buy some food for dinner please?" "Sure. Just let me get ready and we'll head out." "Thanks nii-chan." After Midori left, I went to my closet and picked out the clothes I would wear to the shopping district. Once I was ready, I headed down stairs and saw Midori sitting at the table looking through her phone, only to look up when she saw I was there. "Alright let's get going." said Midori as she started walking towards the door, only to stop when I asked her if she did her homework. "Um, well..." Was all Midori could say as she fiddled with her fingers, showing I was right.
"*sigh* Midori, if you don't do your homework, it's going to affect your grades." I said as I crossed my arms with disapproval "But I don't want to do my homework, I want to go shopping with you." complained Midori, who shut her mouth when I gave her a fierce glare. "Hand over the list. I'll go shopping by myself, you go upstairs and do your homework. Ok?" "Ok. Goodbye nii-chan." Midori handed me the list for the things I needed to buy and walked upstairs to her room. I walked out of the house and began to walk towards the shopping district. 'You're pretty stern when it comes to grades, aren't you?' said Yuki 'I just want to make sure she does well in school. It's an older siblings job to look out for their younger siblings.' I said 'Speaking of older siblings, you mentioned you have an older sister. What's she like?' 'She's nice, smart, brave and very shameless. They were times were she would just enter my room with just a bath robe on. So embarrassing.' 'She really seems like something.' 'Yeah, she is. Anyways let's focus on the shopping.'
~Time skip brought to you by Haru in a maid dress~
After reaching the shopping district, I pull out the list that Midori gave me and looked over the things I needed to buy. "I'll get the vegetables first before getting the meat." I said aloud as I put the list back in my pocket before walking towards the store that sold vegetables. After picking the vegetables that I needed, I head towards cashier to pay for it. "Ok, that will be 1080¥." said the cashier "Thank you sir." I said as I gave a friendly smile, unaware that I had caused the cashier to blush, which made him give me a free coupon. After getting the vegetables, I went to the butcher's shop to pick up the meat and ended up getting some extra meat for free as well. 'Those clerks are suckers for cute faces but I don't blame them. After all you're really cute.' said Yuki, which made me groan in annoyance 'Please don't call me cute Yuki, it's a little embarrassing.' As we continued walking through the district, a familiar voice called out my name "Haru!" Turning around, I saw it was Hana. "Hey Hana, you out getting shopping as well?" I asked as she approached me "No, I just wanted to walk around, wasn't expecting to bump into you." "Same. So you want to walk around?" "Sure." And so Hana joined me on my shopping trip, talking with one another about life and our families. After I got everything on the list, I told Hana that I was going to head home "Can I come with you? I want to see Midori." "Hmm, sure. Come on." I said as I gestured for Hana to follow me.
We began to walk back to my house when Hana said "You still haven't told how you able to become so strong to knock Kaito unconscious." My body stiffened when she said that. "Sorry, that's a secret." I said "Come on Haru, we've never kept secret from each other, like how I told you I was the one to break a vase in my house or how you told me about your hideaway. Why you aren't you telling me?" asked Hana with a sad tone of voice "It's complicated. I promise to tell you, just...not right now." Before anyone either of us could say anything, a group appeared before us and I immediately recognize the two punks from when I took the entrance exam. "Well well well, if it isn't the bitch who kicked me in my balls!" said the first punk "You were asking for it. I told you to leave me be and you choose not to listen to me, so if there's anyone to blame it's yourself." I said angrily "We're gonna teach you a lesson for messing with us." said the other one "And once we're done with you, we'll be taking the girl next for a night out." Hana stiffened in fear and hid behind while I threw a dirty glare at the punks "It's one thing messing with me after last time but getting my friend involved is crossing a line. I'm taking all of you down." I said as I handed the bag of groceries to Hana and get in fight stance "I like to see you try. Get her!" I charged towards to the punks as they charged at me, ready to fight.
I dust off my hands as I look at the delinquents, all of them badly beaten and unconscious. I turned to Hana who could only stare in shock by what had just happened, not being able to understand how I was able to do something like this. I sighed and walked towards her "Hana, I guess now is the time I tell you on how I became strong but let's do it at my house, ok?" Hana stared at me for a minute before nodding her head in agreement. We headed to my house and entered, being greeted by Midori "Welcome home nii-chan. Huh? Hana, I didn't know you were coming today." "Hey Midori, I got the things for dinner." I said as I walked passed her and put the bag on the table "Hello Midori-chan, sorry for intruding." said Hana as walked passed Midori as well. "Hey, why you going upstairs?" asked Midori as me and Hana raced to my room "We have to talk about something! It's private!" I shouted out. Once we were in my room, I made sure to look my door just in case "Alright now we can talk. But before I say anything Hana, you have to promise that you will not tell anyone else about what I'm going to say. Do you promise?" "I promise that I will not say anything to anyone else." "Ok. You can show yourself Yuki." As soon as I said that, Yuki turned herself visible and jumped of my shoulder "Hello Hana, it's nice to meet you." said Yuki. Hana could only stare in shock before bending down and touching Yuki, conforming that she was real. "I don't believe it." said Hana "Hana I know it's difficult to believe but trust me-" "She's so cute!" "EEEEEEHHHHH!" Was all I could say as I watch Hana grab Yuki and pull her into a hug.
"Your not freaking out? She's a fox spirit." Hana looked at me and smiled "While I won't deny that I am surprised, I simply can't get over how cute she looks! Her fur so soft." Hana continued to hug Yuki tightly until she got fed and said "Stop hugging me so tightly, I'm gonna pass out!" "Oh! I'm really sorry." Hana let go of Yuki, who climbed onto my bed. "So how did you two meet?" "Well it all started on the last day of middle school." I told Hana everything about the shrine, my wish, the entrance exam and the encounter with the punks. "And that's pretty much it." I said "I see, so that's why you became so strong. Amazing." said Hana "That also explains why you were so reluctant to tell me, you were worried that I might tell someone. Don't worry Haru, I promise to keep this a secret." "Thanks Hana, you're the best." I unlocked the door and opened it, only for Midori to fall down, revealing that she had been eavesdropping on us. "H-hey nii-chan and Hana-chan." said Midori nervously "Midori, you were eavesdropping on us?" I said in a calm tone, which caused Midori to shake in fear "I was only trying to make sure you guys weren't weird, that's all." "Didn't I tell you that we were going to talk, are you saying that I was lying." "No, no, no! Of course you wouldn't lie." "Than why didn't you believe me?" "Um, uh, well." I scolded Midori for eavesdropping and told her to not tell mom and dad about Yuki. "Hey guys, it's time for me to head home, I'll see you later. And Haru, thanks for telling me." said Hana as she walked out of my room and downstairs. "Well, I better get dinner started." I said "I can help." said Yuki "Me too." said Midori "Thanks you two but I can handle it." "Alright if that's what you want."
