3rd Person's POV: The second half of the sports festival had just begun and the first event was the beanbag toss. "Alright everyone, let's give it our all!" "Yeah!" "This reminds me of the game cornhole, only we throw the bags into a net instead of a board." said Iris "Well, let's all do our best and try to get as many bags in the net." said Asami. And with the gun going off, the game started. Many students picked beanbags and started to throw them, hoping they would make it into the net and while some were able to get into the net, some missed. The game continued for a few more minutes until a whistle was blown, signifying the game was done and in the end, Class 1-A were able to get a decent amount of the beanbags into the net but not enough to get into first place or second place. "Dang. Oh well, we still have some games left before sports day is over, so let's give it our all." said Haru "Alright, let's do it." said Hana as Asami and Iris nodded in agreement. The next event was the tug of war and the group noticed that the class they were going to be playing against was none other than Nanami and Sakura's class. "Oh, hey guys." said Nanami awkwardly "Hey Nanami, hey Sakura. You guys do understand that there's no hard feelings behind this right?" said Haru "I understand. But don't think that just because we're friends means me and Sakura are gonna go easy on you." "I don't. In fact it makes me happy to hear that you both are gonna give it your all. Best of luck to you two." "And to you as well. Come on Sakura, let's go." "Right." Everyone got into positions and once the gun went off, the game had started. Both sides started pulling on the rope, trying to make it come to their side. As both sides pulled, Haru tried his best not to use too much of his strength. 'I have to be careful. If I use all of my strength, I might send people flying. I just have to use a normal amount of strength. A normal amount of strength.' Unfortunately for Haru, because he was deep in thought, he didn't notice that the rope was slipping from his grasp. In fact, it wasn't until one of his teammates shouted out "The rope is slipping!" did he snap out of his thoughts and grabbed the rope to pull but he ended up using more strength than he had planned and ended up causing the other team to fall down. Everyone was silent for a bit before a loud cheer was made. "Class 1-A wins tug of war!" cried out Kokiko. "Hey, we did it." said Hana "We really did." said Asami "Well, let's continue to do our best." said Iris. As Class 1-A cheered, Haru only thought of one thing. 'I used too much of my strength.'
The next event was the obstacle course and Asami and Haru were chosen as participants, along with other classmates. After the gun was heard, the event started. Asami was hopping up and down a little to make sure she was ready. As soon as her classmate came over and clapped her hand, Asami took off running as fast as she could. The obstacle she had to overcome was the tobibako (jumping boxes). 'I just need to get over these boxes.' thought Asami as she ran faster before she jumped on the springboard and vaulted over the boxes. 'It's a good thing I took a lot of vaulting lessons when I was little.' After clapping her classmate, Asami took a breather. Unfortunately for them, this classmate happened to be pretty slow in speed and so, ended up being last when they went to clap their classmate. After some time, the classmate clapped Haru and took off like a bullet, quickly closing the gap between him and the others. The final obstacle was dizzy bat (it's a game where you spin around with your head on the end of a baseball bat). Haru quickly grabbed one of the bats and started to spin himself around. After spinning around 6 times, Haru dropped the bat and tried to run but had a bit of struggle due to being dizzy. In the end, he was able to get second place. "You too did great out there." said Hana as she and Iris ran over. "Yeah, you all did amazing." said Iris, "Hey Haru, are you ok?" asked Asami "I'm fine, just a little dizzy. Just need some water." The group took Haru over to their class and sat him down and handed him some water. "Thanks, I really needed that." said Haru after finishing the water. "The final event is the relay race. We have to do our best on this!" cheered Iris, with the others cheering with her.
"Alright everyone! It's time for the final event of sport's day, and that event is.. the relay race!" cried out Kokiko "The rules of the race are very simple, runners must pass the baton to the next runner and the runner to cross the finish line first will receive 1,000 points!" Upon hearing how many points they will receive, everyone erupted with shouts of excitement. "Will the runners please get into position? Once everyone is ready to race, we can start." As the racers got into position, Haru, Hana, Asami and Iris saw that they were the runners for their class. "Let's do our best." said Haru "Yeah, let's do our best." said Asami. Once all runners were ready, it was time to start. The runner's position for Class 1-A was Iris, Hana, Asami and finally Haru. "On your mark, get set, go!" *BANG!* The race had started and runners took off! Iris was doing pretty good but was in second place because of the runner from Class 1-C. Iris quickly handed the baton to Hana who ran as fast as she could. Hana passed the baton to Asami who took off running and was able to get into first place. As Haru waited for Asami, the runner for Class 1-C, Taku Suzuki, started speaking with him. "So, you're running for 1-A?" asked Suzuki "Yeah, I am." replied Haru. Suzuki smirked before laughing a little, confusing and irritating Haru. "What's so funny?" "Oh nothing. It's just that I wasn't expecting to run up against a frail looking boy." An anger mark appeared on Haru's forehead as he glared at Suzuki. "Excuse me?" "Come on, don't tell me you didn't notice. You're so slim and don't have a lot of muscle on you. You don't look like you can put up much of a challenge." Haru chose not to say anything but did have one thing in mind. 'I'm gonna make you eat those words.'
When Asami passed the baton to Haru, took off running like crazy. In fact, the only other person to keep up with his speed was Suzuki, who looked at him in surprise. "Huh, you're pretty fast. But don't think you can beat me. I'm the fastest runner in this school." said Suzuki "Hmph. We'll see about that." said Haru. As they ran, they turned a corner but just as they did, Haru tripped and fell down, rolling a bit before stopping. Haru was slightly bruised from the fall but was overall ok. Haru had a bit of struggle getting off the ground and looked dismayed from the fact that had fallen. But when he heard someone call out his name. "Go Haru, go!" Haru turned and saw it was Hana and soon, his other classmates joined in to cheer him on. Haru started walking before he started to pick up speed and was able to catch up with Suzuki. "Wow, you managed to catch up with me. Impressive." "Well, I have a race to win, not just for me but for my friends and classmates!" Haru and Suzuki were neck and neck with one another and were close to the finish line. Using a little bit more of his strength, Haru had passed Suzuki a little and was able to cross the finish line. "And the winner of the sport's festival is Class 1-A!" Haru was taking deep breaths while bent over his knees, a little tired from running. "Hey!" Haru looked up and saw Suzuki standing over him. "Oh, hey." Suzuki looked at Haru for a bit before smiling and sticking her hand out for Haru to shake, which he did. "I'm sorry I called you frail. You're a pretty good runner." said Suzuki as she walked away. Haru simply watched before smiling. "Good to hear." "Haru!" Haru turned around and saw Hana, Asami and Iris running towards him. "Haru! Are you ok?" "You're not hurt anywhere are you?" "We can take you to the nurse's office if your head feels dizzy. You did fall pretty hard back there." "Guys, guys! I'm fine. Nothing serious." "Well that's good to hear. Come on, let's go. We have to take our trophy." "Ok, ok, I'm coming." And so, Sport's Day comes to an end with Haru leading Class 1-A into victory and taking home the trophy. As Haru and Hana walked home, Yuki appeared in front of them. "Hey guys, so how did the sports festival go?" asked Yuki as she sat on Haru's shoulder. "We managed to win first place." said Hana "That's great to hear." "What about you Yuki, did you get what you wanted from that market in the spirit realm?" "I actually did." "Well, what is it?" "Sorry but I can't show you it right now. Later but not now." "Ok then. Well, let's head home, I'm gonna make some katsudon to celebrate." "Haru, katsudon sounds very nice." said Hana "It really does." said Yuki "Alright then, I'm making katsudon!"
