She sang along to herself as we walked down the street, her headphones letting some of the sound escape.
"Hey, pretty good," he smiled at her.
"What? No one asked you!" She bristled and frowned, before focusing back on her music.
He looked forwards again and was lost in thought.
Why won't you just let me spend this love on you? I'm never going to get a chance to dance to a love song with you at this rate, considering you're always pushing me away, kicking me down. I really hope you don't mean it, 'cause I can see you sticking around.
Both of them grabbed seats on the bus, and snuck their glances at each other, their thoughts matching perfectly.
I can't get enough of you.
It's like you can't get enough of me.
I'll always stay, I'll always wonder how my hand might feel intertwined with yours.
Maybe he'll never leave. Maybe he'll grab my hand one day.
But as of now, she caught him staring.
"What are you doing?" And the door was slammed closed.
I guess my girl's a little bit a Tsundere, a sweet 'hello' gets me a punch in the face. And if I compliment her, she'll just start chasing me.
"Just admiring your hair. It looks nice today."
She frowned at him again as they left the underground subway station, walking to their school. "What, aren't you going to follow that up with some sort of dumb joke?"
"I mean, only if you want me to. Your hair looks nice, did you wash it or something?" he glanced at her, hoping she'd take the teasing well.
"That's it!" Apparently, she didn't. He took off, and she followed in pursuit. Darting behind a corner, he chanced a quick look. Her face filled his vision.
"Damn! You found my hiding place. You're like a wildcat, you know," they continued their walk.
"And you're just a stupid octopus. Take what you said back!"
"Sorry, jeez! You're the one who suggested I make a joke. And uh, how am I an octopus?"
"How am I a cat?"
"Cats are cute."
"What? Ugh, go away!" She stalked off, now walking a few metres ahead of him.
"Can't we just get along?" He jogged to catch up.
"Not a chance, so go away!" She turned away.
"Maybe if we just had a civil conversa-" he was cut off by her running through the front doors of the school, leaving him outside.
As she walked to class, her own thoughts filled her head. I'd love to spend my love on him, but what if he says he doesn't want it? 'Cause he's always laughing and joking, he's just such a clown. But when he teases and flirts, I hope he means it. And I wonder what would happen if I let my guard and pride down.
They sat down in class next to each other, as she scribbled in her diary.
Could we hold hands? Kiss? Live our lives together?
Reading over her shoulder, he chuckled. "Yeah, I guess so."
"What? I'm not talking about you, you're not my fairytale prince in this!"
I swear I'm not a Tsundere, I'm really not that mean. I've just got walls up around my heart, and he's breaking them down.
"Are you sure this isn't me you're writing about?" She blushed heavily, and glared up at him. "Aw, and now you're blushing!"
"I'm not! I just- I forgot the sunscreen this morning!"
"Your smile really is cute though." They walked out to break.
"You'll never see it again, then."
"Alright, just wanted to let you know." A few moments passed in silence.
"Hey, uh..." she trailed off.
"Yeah? You okay?"
"Yup! Um... are you maybe free later today?"
