"JAMES BUCHANAN BARNES" I almost screamed through the halls of the compound.

"Ey yo, Brubaker. What crawled up your ass this morning ?" Pietro breezed past me on the way into the living room.

"Shut it, Maximoff." I simply barked at him, setting my sight on James who was standing at the kitchen island pouring coffee into a mug.

As soon as he saw me, his face lit up.
Sam was standing next to him tending to the toaster.

"What's wrong,doll ?" he stepped in front of me, his eyes concerned.

I scoffed.

Sam turned his attention to us. More to himself he said: " Lemme get the popcorn ready shit's about to go down."

Both James and I turned to him at the same time.

"Shut up, Wilson." We said in unison.

He backed up from the island, mumbling something inaudible to himself.

"James." I turned my angry self towards my boyfriend, pregnancy test in hand but concealing it from James

"What's wrong, sugar ?" he asked me again.

I huffed.

"What's wrong you ask ? I spend the last 3 hours throwing up everything but my memories." With that I threw the test in his face. He picked it up and looked at it, his brows furrowed.

"Woah, man. You knocked her up." Sam's eyes almost fell out of it's place.

"I...WHAT..?" James stammered.
"Baby, I didn't know super soldiers could.."
He tried to calm me down by wrapping his arm around me, I swatted his arm away.

Tony walked into kitchen asking about the shouting.

"Barnes knocked Brubaker up and she's hella pissed." Maximoff sped towards Stark announcing the news.

"Oh wow, just what this madhouse needs. Babies." Tony smirked and walked over to the island, grabbing the pot of coffee from Sam's hand.

"You're not helpful, Stark." I said over my shoulder.

"Elaine." I heard Banner calling me from the door of the living area.

"Yes, Dr. Banner ?" I turned around and walked towards him, leaving James still holding the pregnancy test in disbelief behind.

"Come on in into medical, I have Dr. Helen Cho on call, she studied the Super Soldier serum and it's properties, she might be able to help you and if you want I'm sure she can take a trip over here." Banner said sympathetically.

In the medical, Dr. Cho appeared on screen, her friendly smile looking back at me.

"Ms. Brubaker, I'm pleased to meet you. I'm sure Bruce filled you in on my specialty and that I might be able to help you."

Bruce pulled up a chair so I could sit down in front of the big screen.

"Please, call me Elaine." I said to Dr. Cho.

"Why don't you go ahead and tell me what symptoms you are experiencing." Helen pulled up a tablet to write down my stats.

"Well, I threw up for the last 3 hours, I've been feeling super nauseous all morning and my boobs hurt. Natasha gave me a pregnancy test to take which is definitely positive." I twirled my thumbs under the table to hide my nervousness.

"Well, I'm pretty sure you are definitely pregnant. Compared to normal human pregnancies, enhanced bodies experience the symptoms increasingly more intense. Other than that the duration is the same and the chance of miscarriage is lower than in non-enhanced humans. I would like to see you myself to run some tests. I'm gonna take a flight tonight so I'll be there in the morning. Until then please rest and drink lots of fluids. See you soon, Elaine" Helen waved with a smile on her lips before disconnecting the call.

"Well, I guess congratulations are in order. I'm sure you're still shocked and I agree with Helen, please rest up and try not to kill Barnes." Banner held my hand to soothe me.

"I can't promise anything." I said jokingly.
I was visibly more calm now, Banner somehow had that effect on people.

I walked back to our room where James was pacing up and down the room. Once he felt my presence he stopped, his shoulders slumped. Like he was on edge the whole time.

"Baby, please talk to me. I'm so sorry. I really didn't know you could get pregnant." his eyes full of concern.

I put my hand on his shoulder, making him relax.

"James, I told you this many times. I love you so much, this is a shock for me, yes but we are in this together." I put both my hands on each side of his face placing a soft kiss on his forehead.

"You are my entire world, Elaine." he whispered before sofly placing his lips on mine.

Together was all that matters.
