Jolie.

Jolie Grace.

Jolie Grace Barnes.

Sunlight streamed through the closed blinds of our room. My eyes fluttered open, taking in all the sounds. The soft snoring of James who was sleeping peacefully next to me, the rustling of the soft cotton sheets on our bed.

Suddenly I felt a kick.

She was awake too.

"Hey, little baby girl." I whispered softly rubbing my round belly. Over the last week of my second trimester, I had popped significantly. With my small frame it looked like I was carrying a watermelon with me.

13 more weeks until we get to meet our little wonder Jolie Grace.

The name was decided right after we found out we were having a girl. Jolie, a cuter, shorter version of Jolene, in honor of my late best friend and Grace, well Grace was my mom's name.

I felt James next to me stir awake from his slumber. Those ocean blue eyes, they felt like home.  When I looked at him, the world seemed so much brighter.

A single tear escaped the corner of my eye and I saw his expression cloud with concern.

"Good morning, baby. What's wrong ? Does something hurt ? he said as another tear fell from my eyes onto the pillow. But my smile grew bigger.

"They are happy tears, Buck." I said as my hand caressed his cheek.

"I just thought about how happy I am. How I didn't know that I was capable to love a person so deeply, so fiercely like I do you." I said.

His face grew softer, his smile crooked.

"Baby, believe me. I'm the luckiest man on this planet. I get to hold you every night, just being in your mere presence is a gift to me. When you came into my life, the grey world I was living in became brighter, colorful.

And this little wonder that we made.." he said as his hand rubbed my belly. "...I can't wait to meet her." As he said those words I felt another fluttery kick.

James' eyes grew bigger as his hand still rested on my stomach.

"Seems like someone agrees with her dad." I said with a giggle.

"Yes, I can't wait to meet you, Jolie Grace Barnes."

A little ping sounded off in our room, announcing F.R.I.D.A.Y.

"Ms. Brubaker and Mr. Barnes. Princess Shuri and Mister Stark require your presence in the meeting room."

James groaned.

"Do you know what they might want ?" I asked James and I slowly rose from the bed to slip on a pair of cotton cycling shorts, the waistband stretched over my  belly.

"No, but let's find out." James' human arm stretched out and reached for my hand.

As we arrived in the meeting room, Shuri was standing in front of a long black box, with intricate gold designs on the lid.

She was wearing a dark purple tunic dress and her hair was braided down her back, little gold beads webbed into each little braid.

She cleared her throat before she spoke.

"As promised James, I made you a little gift. And for your little princess, I brought you the finest fabrics my country has to offer." She pulled out another black box with the same intricate design.

"There's a few burp cloths, swaddle blankets and few other goodies. All of it is embroidered with the little wonder's name. Jolie Grace." Shuri held out the box to me, with a friendly smile.
