And now Tara spotted the flour which was left at the counter. She sneaked some of it and poked his shoulder
Adi turned around and saw her throwing flour at him. He tried to bend but the flour got to his cheeks.
He looked at her fondly
"Naanum films paapen Adi" she stood there proudly
Adi smirked, he took some flour in one hand but Tara started to run anticipating what he was about to do.
But he was quicker so he trapped her by the gap between the fridge and the water purifier.
She was feeling incredibly shy. He bend down to look at her face. He whispered "Romba azhaga vekka padra Sithara"
She just felt giddy. Too make her state worse, he slowly threw the flour on her face. She was glad that at least it could hide how red she became. Adi was still caging her and she didn't want to move either. She just hid herself in his chest.
He let her stay for a while and then shook her lightly
"Maa samaikanum"
"Athukulaya"
"5 minutes ah ipdiye irukom" he reminded her
"Seri" she left him half heartedly
He went back to make a gravy. She wiped her face with a towel and sat back on the counter. Adi was chopping some vegetables.
He smiled into her hands as she held his face to wipe the flour off.
For Adi, it was much more intimate than the "flour romance" they just had.
He dusted the remaining from his shirt but he did not forget to give her the 'you caused it' look. She blushed for the thousandth time that day.
Tara's heart fluttered at this new domestic sense that she has been feeling with him lately.
....
After many distractions, dinner was finally ready. But they didn't take too long either. They all ate happily.
"Adi intha dinner ku romba thanks semma tasty ah irunthichu"
"Thanks naan thaan pa solanum" Adi looked at Tara
"Ethuku da"
"Ila enake poga kashtama irunthichu neenga thirupi kupta naala innum konjam time spend pana mudinjithu la" he blushed
Tara knew what he was implying when he said they "spent time"
"Lunch ku Tara vegetables laam cut pana nu soniye. Dinner la enna panna ava" her mother asked eagerly as her daughter doing something other than eating in the kitchen was a rare sight
"Neraiya panene ketu parunga" Tara said with a smirk
Adi almost choked
"Paathu paathu"
Her mom was looking at him expecting an answer
"Ava neraiya pana ma Pringles sapta. Enaku athula naalu chips kudutha. Apro maavu-" he started purposely
"Thaba ba ba gothumai maavu eduthu kuduthen ma" she said while glaring at him
"Apo ava onnume panala nu sollu" her mom sighed
"Ilaye cooking la help panala naalum" he started
Tara kicked him under the table
He muffled his scream"Oru moral support ah iruntha" he completed
"Moral support ah" her dad asked puzzled
"Athu tired aaga vidama pesite iruntha la atha sonen" he said
They finally left the table
He let out a breath
Tara just giggled at his state.
It was time and they sent him off with another 15 minute goodbye at the gate.
....
Tara sat on her bed and thought about this day. How the random corners of her home, held memories now.
She never thought the balcony she cried will be the one to witness her first date
She didn't think she would ever spend so much time in the kitchen and enjoy every second of it.
....
With the right person, happiness will come easily and perhaps it might never leave.
