Adi, Tara and Rakesh ate lunch at the table, and they didn't know what else to do.

Rakesh: Vaanga da veliya polam romba mokkaiya iruku

Adi: Veliya enga polam

Rakesh: Theater? Mall? Ooty? Pesama chennai eh poidalama?

Adi: Ahaan kodaikanal kanniyakumari kerala nu solite poyen!

Rakesh: Apo neeye sollu enga polam

Tara: Neenga college padikrapo enga adikadi poveenga?

Adi and Rakesh together - window spot

Tara: Huh

The two friends looked at each other with a twinkle in their eyes. Rakesh stood up and nodded. Adi signalled him something.

Tara: Adiii enna pesureenga rendu perum! onnum purila

He just took her hand and led her upstairs.

Adi: Ready aaitu va ma naanga kuptu porom

Tara: Enga nu sollu, Adi...Adi...Ad-

He pushed her inside and closed her room and left to freshen up

....

Tara got ready and came out in frustration

Rakesh was sitting there

"Enga porom nu solla mateenga la"

"Athu explain pana mudiyathu Tara, paatha thaan puriyum"

"Ennavo ponga" she scoffed

Adi came there and held out his hand,

"Polama" his face was glowing and he looked very handsome in his leather jacket

Tara gave her hand but she was gawking at him

He whispered near her ear

"Oi Sithara sight adikuriya"

She quickly responded

"Ama paaka semmaya iruka Adi"

He rubbed his nose on hers and they went to the car.

....

Tara was still clueless. The boys looked very excited.

They drove for 40 minutes and they finally reached. It was their college

"College thaan spot ah" Tara was confused

"Ila inga irunthu nadanthu poganum. Athaan full experience. Va ma"

Adi held her hand and they walked around the wall and there was a short path that disappeared in the forest. It was less scary because it was still afternoon.

Adi went in first followed by Tara and Rakesh. She had no idea about this path.

After a while forest started and she was nervous. She squeezed Adi's hand.

"Bayapdatha ma inga ethuvum irukathu"

They walked for 15 mins but it felt like forever for Tara.

....

Adi left her hand and closed her eyes from behind. He let Rakesh go in the front and open the door.

Tara was brought inside and she opened her eyes. It was an old cabin, but it had a huge window that faced the sun directly. It was a stained glass window, so the colours fell on her and she looked at it with awe. She understood why they were so excited. It was a beautiful place indeed.

She turned to Adi and Rakesh. They faced the window as well but their eyes seemed distant. She knew they missed their old days. Nostalgia is always a weird feeling. It makes you happy and sad at the same time. She stood in front of them

"Group hug?" She asked

Both needed that as their memories overwhelmed them.

They stood there for a while and then sat down on the floor. The boys still didn't get their smiles back.

"Inga paarunga" Tara asked

Both of them looked like a child who lost his favorite toy

"I get that you miss all the happy memories here. But life oda concept eh athaan. You make memories, you enjoy the moment and you move on. Instead of sulking over the lost times, be grateful that you can still revisit this place and think about those moments. Ipo na inga iruken. Enaku ithu oru happy memory ah irukanum nu aasai padren. I didn't come here to watch you both sulk" she said

Adi and Rakesh sighed. She was right.

"Seri apo enna panalam"

"Pesalam. Unga memories pathi solunga. Maybe saying it out loud will make you happy"

"Naanga intha spot ah accidental ah thaan kandu pudichom. We bunked class for the first time, enna panrathu nu therla. Adi kept saying vendam da thirumbi poidalam. Bunk laam ethuku nu. Appove kandupudichirukanum ivan professor ah aavan nu" Rakesh chuckled

"Ama enna iluthitu ponanga. Kadupula adichen. Kathitangala, back gate la security yaar nu paaka vantharu. Enna panrathu nu theriyama odi vanthom. We ended up here. Inge lunch saptu. Evening thaan ponom" he smiled reminiscing those moments

"Apro adikadi vara aarambichitom. Our Window spot!"

They sat there talking for a while. It was getting dark so they left.

....

You can't hold on to a moment and keep it forever. You have to let it go. It will come back again when the time is right✨
