Tara was roaming in the garden. It was a beautiful place. It held so much peace. Maybe because of the trees and plants, but that garden made her feel home. She sat there looking at one particular tree, perhaps guava, it seemed a little new than the others.
She felt someone sitting near her
"Tara inga enna panra"
She turned to see Rakesh smiling at her
"Anneyyy summa paaka vanthen. It looks beautiful la"
"Antha maram iruku la, 2nd year apo me, Varun and Adi planted that. First year pass aana oru maram nadurom nu kovil la vendunom. And we all passed, just pass thaan but next year poitom. Athaan we planted this here. It's our goyaka tree hehe"

"Adi thaan suggest panan"
Tara smiled proudly. They sat in silence for a while.
....
"I can't believe ipdi pata veetla ivlo azhagana oru edam iruku nu"
Rakesh chuckled
"First time Adi veetuku vanthapo na avana pathi ithaan nenachen. Ipdi pata parents ku ivlo nalla paiyan ah nu"
Tara teared up. Rakesh noticed it and opened his arm. She went near and laid her head on him and sobbed silently. He let her cry for a while.
"Tara"
She looked up with teary eyes
"I didn't think his past would've been this hard anna. And interacting with them made it worse. Avunga excuses kuduthite irukanga. And worst of all, his mother still thinks what she did was right"
"Tara vidu ma, I know this house is a lot to take in. Just enjoy your time here, ellarukum aal oda 1 week spend pana chance kedaikathu" he winked at her

"Athu nala thaan ma solren" he laughed
Tara whispered
"Anna na sonen nu yaar kitayum solidatha but this house looks like a murder mansion. Avaru amma vera ethayo basement la marachu vechuruka mathiriye suthitu irukanga"
Rakesh laughed out loud
"Oruvela veetla pei irukumo" he teased
"Irukumo" Tara blinked

They heard someone scream from behind
Tara and Rakesh jerked away in horror
Adi started laughing
"Annanum thangachi uhm evlo theories solreenga! Adengappa"
"Loosu Adi en ipdi panna"
"Murder mansion la thrill ilana epdi" he smirked and sat beside her.
"Chi peh"
"Dei machan weak body da nanu en bayamuruthura"
"Chumma velanden machan"
He nudged Tara by the shoulder
"Maa basement polam variya"
"Adiiii unna na kolla poren" she yelled and smacked his arms
He ran for a while and then stopped.
He hugged her tightly and said
"Ennoda past ah nenachu nee azhutha la. You are an amazing person Tara. Thanks for existing" he kissed her head
She just laid there. Adi opened his arms for Rakesh to join as well. The trio had a group hug. Tara was being squeezed in between the two tall men
"Rendu perum thenna maram mathiri valanthutu enna paada paduthureenga shei"
Rakesh ruffled Tara's head
"Thangachi papa" he smiled contently
....
Adi went back in
"Tara na onnu solava. Naanga romba varshama try pana oru vishayatha nee easy ah ore naal la panita. You made him laugh in this house"
"Anna enaku avar epovum happy ah irukanum. Any place, any time. I can't watch him be sad. He deserves only the best"
"He already has the best - You"
Tara just smiled
