Tara's side - night before the wedding:

"Adi over ah pannatha"

"Maaaa please maa innum 10 hours la epdiyum paaka thaana porom"

"Konjam kooda romance eh therila sheiii"

"Ithula enna romance iruku"

"Nee manushana illa vera ethavatha"

"Enna ma meratura"

"Apo ulla vidu konjurren"

"Sitara vendam tempt panatha"

"Na onnume pannalaye. Door open pannu hi solitu poidren"

"Athellam mudiyathu. Nee kelambu"

"Podangg"

Adi giggled. Tara was pissed off. She wanted to see him so badly now more than before. To hit him and give him a piece of her mind.

.....

She stayed silent so he would think she's gone. But Adi was smarter. He called Rakesh and Varun to his room and asked them to stay on the call

Tara saw them coming. She was whispering to them. But they couldn't hear her.

"Ava thaana" Adi asked from the phone

"Ama da" Varun answered

"Anneyyyy en ney ipdi panra. Avan thaan loosu mathri panranna neeyum potu kudukura"

"Illa ma-"

"Pleasseee ulla kuptu ponga. Ore oru vaati paakanum" she whispered again

....

They cut the call and tried to open the door for her. They couldn't resist Tara's puppy face.

"Dei ava poita open pannu" Rakesh spoke

"Sure ah"

"Ama da"

"Kovama ponaala?" Adi asked in a sad tone. Tara felt bad

"Ama upset aaita. Nee open pannu naanga varom"

Adi opened the door lightly but he noticed Tara's hand on Rakesh's shoulder.

He shut the door immediately.

"Dei irunga naliku ungala summa vida maaten nanu"

"Adi en da ipdi panra. Summa paakanum nu thaane solra. Video call aachum pannu"

"Mudiyathu. Ithu oru tradition da, bride ah wedding day ku munnadi paatha bad luck. Morning full ah avoid panna mudila. Atleast oru 10 hours paakama irukalam la. Un thangachi vazhkaila veladatheenga"

Adi smirked behind the door. He knew that last line would make them take his side on this.

Varun and Rakesh immediately pushed Tara away.

"Anney unga renduperkum en mela paasame illa ponga"

"Dei ivala pathi ungaluke theriyum. Seriyana kedi fellow. Neenga ethukum oru 2 hours inge irunga. Avala ulla vidatheenga" Adi warned behind the door

"En athuku apro ava vanthana?"

"Athukulla madam thoongiduvanga"

Tara pouted and went away.

.....

She kept tossing and turning all night. She couldn't sleep. She just had to see him. She didn't want to hurt him sentiments too. So she made a plan.

....

At 12 AM:

"Adi"

"Adi"

"Pchh Adiii" Tara whisper yelled at him

He woke up with a jerk. He smiled at her cutely and went back to sleep, thinking it was a dream. Tara found it adorable but then she hit him to wake him up.

"Kanavu illa"

Adi got shocked and closed his eyes with his palms.

"Aiyooo ivan vera. Ellarum ponna epdiyachum paathiranum nu adam pidipanga. Nee en opposite ah iruka"

"Maaa po ma nee. Ithula ellam veladatha. Takkunu kelambu ilana un annankarangala ezhupiduven"

She grabbed his phone quickly.

"Ipo epdi koopduva. Un phone eduka nee kanna thorakanum la"

"Phone laam ethuku. Inga thaan irukanga" he turned his face towards the couch - eyes still closed.

....

Tara saw Varun and Rakesh sleeping on top of each other. These three boys might be grown up but they are the most adorable kids she has ever seen.

She turned to Adi again. He was sleeping. Poor guy was closing his eyes for a long time and that made him fall asleep.

"Adiiiii. Enthri pleasseeee" she started to shake him back and forth

Adi whined

"Maaaaa vendam ma"

"Yov time 12 aaiduchaya. It's the day of our wedding. Ipo nee paakalam thappu ila"

....

She tried to sound mad but she saw Adi's smile after he opened his eyes. They were sitting so closely. The lights in the room were off but it was a full moon day. Everything seemed so calm. She never knew that eyes can be so expressive.

She saw the longing in him fade away. It was quickly replaced with a twinkle as his eyes found hers. She was fascinated.

"Looking into the lovers eyes" was always something that she saw in movies. She never understood why poets praised it so much.

But now, she understood the intimacy behind it. She has never looked into someone's eyes like this, and she also realized no one besides Adi has seen her eyes so closely.

This intimacy was something more than physical romance. His eyes put all the stars to shame. And then it hit her, only she brought out that twinkle, no one else has and no one else will. Adi was completely hers. And that gave Tara chills.

Pondati's pride - she named the feeling.

They didn't speak anything. They didn't have to. They just sat there in silence and pondered about how grateful they were to have eachother in this life.

And after an hour, they heard people. Everyone was waking up. Tara stood up, looked at him once more. The smile on his face was still intact. He looked relaxed and serene. She squeezed his hand once and left without a word.

Sometimes silence speaks louder than words.
