"Wake up! Wake up! It's your first day of training!" Kanroji shook you violently until you opened your eyes groggily.

She looked into your eyes, a smile spread across your face. You laughed and got up, changed, and met her outside for breakfast.

"Oh, wow! This is a lot of food, uh... how should I refer to you?" You rocked back and forth on your heels as she thought for a moment.

"Mitsuri is fine! No formalities needed! I think it's important that we're able to talk to each other, and are able to treat each other like friends!" She clapped excitedly and sat down, already beginning to stuff her face with fresh food.

"Then you should call me Y/n, if we're going that route." She tried to say something, but because of her mouthful of food it was impossible to make out.

"Uh, right... Thank you for the meal, Mitsuri." You hesitated before saying her name, and she smiled at your politeness.

After she had eaten the entire table's worth of food, and you had your average sized portion, she whisked you outside and drew her sword.

"All right, you mentioned this was your first time with a sword, right?" You nodded. "Okay! That's fine! My sword is special, as you can see!" She showed off her whip-like sword with pride. "This means the breathing form I use is unique and specific to this type of sword, so it might be better for you to just start form scratch!"

Your head began to hurt. "Breathing form? What?"

She went on about the different types of fighting, and how they were all derived from the original Sun Breathing. She told you about how she trained under Rengoku, and created her breathing style- Love Breathing- from his Flame Breathing.

"Uh, okay, cool! So, what's my first step to mastering Love Breathing?"

She worked you hard, until you collapsed from exhaustion in the heat of summer. You begged her to take a break multiple times, but she only told you sternly that demons don't let you take breaks.

She taught you basic sword formations, making you swing your sword at least ten thousand times. But the time you finally finished, the sun was far below the horizon, and the sky was dark, dotted with bright stars across the sky.

"All right! Well done today, Y/n! Tomorrow, we'll try to improve your stamina since you... are lacking in that department." Your sides heaved as she spoke. Your insides and muscles burned, and you desperately tried to fill your lungs with air. You merely held up a weak thumbs up.

"Perfect! I'll prepare a small dinner and you can go to bed!"

You dropped to your knees as she trotted into the estate, as if she wasn't effected by the training at all. "This is impossible!" Tears stung at the corners of your eyes.

"Y/n? Why aren't you-? Y/n!" Mitsuri gasped and ran to your side. "What happened? Are you okay?" You bit down hard on your tongue to in an effort to stop your tears from falling.

"I'm fine. Really. Lets go eat."

"Is my training too hard?" She wailed. "Gah! I knew I was going to hard on you! You're body isn't in the right shape yet and-!"

"No! Keep training me at this level. I can only get better if I push past my limits! Train me even harder, in fact!"

Her eyes widened. "So, this is why Rengoku recruited you!" She smiled. "Fine! I'll train you at this level again!"

"No! Train me twice as hard!" You grit your teeth in determination.

"Yeah! You're gonna do great!" She grinned with excitement.
