When you cracked open your eyes, light blinded you. You squeezed your eyes shut and groaned, lifting a hand to shoulder yourself from its brutality.

You heard someone gasp, and pull you into a tight hug. "You're awake! Oh, thank God!" You opened your eyes again, confused.

Sanemi had you held to his chest.

"Is it over with...? Did we win?" You rasped.

"Yes! Yes, we won!" You looked around. This was Shinobu's hospital wing. Your lower lip trembled at the memory of staying here and having her take care of you. You wanted to hear her voice tell you how to mix specific chemicals together to make medicine. You wanted to feel her hand press against your forehead to check your temperature. You wanted her back.

You buried your face in Sanemi's shoulder and cried. "I know. I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" He rubbed your back comfortingly and let you cry.

When you regained your composure, you spoke again.

"What... happened?" Your voice came out hushed and crackled.

"Don't strain your voice so much!" He scolded. "You've been in a coma for the last three months." He explained. "We defeated Muzan. Muzan is dead."

You smiled faintly. "And...? What happened since then?"

"When you were put to sleep, Tanjiro woke up. He had his arm cut off, but it grew back! People were like- 'Oh, shit'! Anyway, long story short, Muzan infected Tanjiro and tried to coax him into being his successor, but Tanjiro fought against it and blah, blah, blah, now the three boys took Kanao, Aoi, and Nezuko home. They're living together in Tanjiro's childhood home on a mountain. The Demon Slayer Corps disbanded, and now all the empty estates left over have been sold. This is a hospital now, bought by the family with wisteria in its crest."

Tears swelled in your eyes and you pulled Sanemi in for another hug. "Sanemi! I'm so glad..." you hiccuped, "to hear that! Please, tell me, who survived?!"

Sanemi's gaze fell. "Uzui, since he retired, me, and Giyuu."

      "That's... it?" You croaked.

      He nodded solemnly.

"What... what about Mitsuri? She can't... she can't be dead. Did she really die just outside my grasp?! I-" your voice broke. "I never got to hear her last words! And Genya! He can't also be dead!"

Sanemi hung his head and bit his lip, which trembled.

"I'm sorry. I know. I know, trust me. But we still have each other, don't we?"

You gave into even more sobs, your body shaking violently. "Sanemi! I- I love you so much! I don't want to be alone anymore! I can't stand it! Please, will you marry me?!"

Sanemi let his tears win and fall down his cheeks as he hugged you. "I would love nothing more... than to be your husband."

-

It had been exactly a year since Muzan Kibutsuji was erased from this plane of existence. You and Sanemi lived happily in your shared estate. The old Wind Estate. Tanjiro, Kanao, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tomioka, Aoi, Nezuko, Amaya, Amaya's mother, Uzui, and his wives all attended your wedding. Inosuke demanded that he be the flower girl, so you had Kanao help him spread the flowers out.
