    I hate being alone.

It has been far too long since I've had a mission, I've been home alone for the past week and I have to think about my... feelings...

Your face wrinkled in disgust, and a shiver was sent down your spine. You groaned loudly, burying your face in your pillow. You were still too injured to train, and there was no one to talk to, except for your crow. It doesn't count though, since it's too grumpy to cheer you up.

"Will you please just tell me your name?! Aren't you supposed to be my friend or something?!" You groaned.

"I'm not your friend!" Your crow cawed. "I'm your co-worker! And I'm not giving you my name! You'll get too friendly with me, and then if I die or something you won't be able to focus on work!"

      You groaned again in response.

You've had plenty of time, almost too much time, to think about what Mitsuri had said. Why did your heart smile when she told you that Shinazugawa saying the simple words "Be safe" was a big deal? You cursed her under your breath for making you confront these alien emotions.

You rolled out of bed and wiped the laziness from your eyes. Training will be hell when I get back into the rhythm of it... You waddled out to the kitchen, scratching at your scalp and yawning.

"Oh! I was wondering when you'd come out of your room!" Mitsuri was sat down reading a book.

"Huh? When did you get home?!" Any weepiness in your eyes was gone.

"Two days ago? You didn't notice? I wouldn't say I've been quiet."

"Ugh! So, I've been bored this whole time for nothing? I could've came out and talked to you?"

Mitsuri giggled and rolled her eyes. "Fine. Let's talk now. What is it you want to talk about? Is it about anything interesting? Ooh, did a new mochi stand open up in town? I'd just about die for some sakura mochi, right now!"

"Uh, well, it's actually kind of serious... Do you promise not to laugh, or make fun of me, or... I dunno, be overall unhelpful?" You twiddled your thumbs and rocked to and fro awkwardly. She snapped her book close and stood, grabbing you by the shoulders.

"Of course not! Spill already, I wanna know what's going on now!" She shook you gently.

"Oh, okay. Well, I've been thinking, and I'm not exactly qualified to say that this is indefinitely true, and you are the Love Hashira, but... I think I have a teenie-weenie-itsy-bitsy crush on someone... how do I know that I do, and it's not just me wanting to be friends or something?"

She gasped, eyes wide with excitement. There was a breathless pause until she screamed with joy. "Who is it? OHMYGOSHTHISISSOAMAZING! I'll help you in anyway that I can! AH! I'm so thrilled! Whoever it is is so lucky! He- or she I suppose- is going to have the best wife!"

"W-what? Wife! All I said was that I had a crush on someone! I did not, by any means, say I was in love with that person! Crushes and love are two very different things!" You insisted, a little nervous by her overreaction.

She took a deep breath. "Right. A crush. Okay, well, ask yourself this. One: does your heart flutter when you see them?"

"Flutter-? I, uh, I guess? Well, actually, it happens more when... someone else talks about them. And I don't get to see them very often... I'm not really sure how to explain it... sorry."

"Gah! It's fine! Gosh, I'm so excited!"

"I know, Mitsuri; you've said so multiple times now, but let's stay on track, okay?"
