- 𝕍: Healing -

The sun shone on your face, making you squint, even though your eyes were closed. You took a deep breath, but shook when you inhaled.

Slowly, you opened your eyes and blinked a couple of times. "Lady Kocho!" Someone yelled. You squeezed your eyes shut as the sudden loud noise spiked your dull, throbbing headache.

You felt nothing. Not physically anyway. Your body was entirely and completely numb. You wiggled your fingers. You couldn't tell if they were working or not.

You tried to sit up, but for some reason, you couldn't bring yourself to. Holy- am- am I paralyzed? Oh, God! No! I've just begun being a Demon Slayer!

Your eyes widened in terror for a moment.

"What's your problem?" Someone scoffed, almost playfully.

"Shina... Is that you Shinazugawa? I cant feel my body-"

"God, stop being all paranoid. Shinobu gave you a shit ton of painkillers or something. I'm not really sure; I'm not a nerdy doctor like her. You're fine though, so stop being a pussy."

You sighed in relief. A long silence filled the room.

"You need help sitting up, don't you?" He sighed. "God, you're sad to look at."

You heard him get up. You watched, embarrassed, as he sat you up. "Uh, thanks."

He shrugged and sat back down. Now, you could see what was going on. You were in a hospital wing, the beds next to you were empty, though a couple stirred. Shinazugawa sat in a chair with is arms crossed. He was looking at the ceiling, clearly bored. Your brain felt heavy, and clouded, but did he say something about Shinobu?

"Is this... Ms. Kocho's home?"

He scoffed.

"I'll take that as a yes."

Silence again. As time wore on it got increasingly awkward. At least on your end. Shinazugawa didn't seem to notice.

Why is he the one watching over me? Why not Mitsuri! Oh- oh, no, is she upset? I wouldn't blame her, but... oh, I hope she doesn't hate me.

"Uhm, Shinazugawa... Where's Mitsuri?

"Why would I know?"

"Oh- okay, well, do you know how long I was out for?"

"Couple'a'days." His words slurred together as he yawned. You noticed the eye bags under his eyes now, something that wasn't there before.

A girl, presumably the person who had yelled out for Kocho earlier, returned. She was small, with two pigtails completed with butterfly clips and a blue uniform.

Behind her, Kocho was smiling and writing something down on a clipboard before she looked up to see you.

"Ah, I see you're awake." She sat down daintily on the end of your bed, smiling at you. "I'm thoroughly impressed by your ability to kill such a strong demon by yourself. Your mentor told me all about what happened.

Yes, she came in, almost in tears, as I recall. Shinazugawa here was carrying you on his back. Dare I say he almost looked worried?"

Shinazugawa shot her a mean look.

"Anyway, she told me what happened, and I had you taken to my hospital wing. When you came in, you were unconscious, so I have to infuse the numbing agents into some water that you, thankfully, woke up and drank after a while. For the most part, you were asleep, though every once and a while, when my medicine wore off, you'd wake up and take another drink. I assume you don't remember that, though?"
