For several ticking moments, there was silence. Then everyone began to wail and cry. People tugged at their clothes, holding their hearts as they cried their eyes out. "WE WON! WE DEFEATED MUZAN!" One person screamed.

"MUZAN IS DEAD!" Yelled another.

One Kakushi began to order everyone around. "WE AREN'T DONE YET! TREAT THE WOUNDED! SHIFT TO EMERGENCY AID! STOP BLUBBERING AND PULL YOURSELVES TOGETHER!"

Himejima lay against one wall, his blind eyes that once held life beginning to close. You crawled towards the shape of Iguro and Mitsuri. Mitsuri cried, letting tears fall from her cheeks and onto the earth below.

You felt your soul dying when you saw her draw her last breath in front of you. You reached out desperately to hold her again, but it was too late. You fell before Iguro and sobbed, hiding your face in your arms like a child. He rested a hand in your back as he held Mitsuri. You grasped Mitsuri's hand in both of yours as you sobbed.

NO! NO MITSURI! I DIDN'T GET TO SAY GOODBYE! I LOVE YOU! YOU'RE LIKE MY OLDER SISTER! I'VE LOST SO MANY! YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME! PLEASE-! STAY WITH ME! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE! PLEASE DON'T GO!

You wanted so badly to cry out to her. You wanted to feel her warm arms embrace you and pull you close. You wanted to feel her never ending love for you again. Why? Why d0es the world have to strip itself if it's kindest people?

You felt Iguro's hand slide off your back, and his body hunched over. You heard his last breath wheeze out of his body, and he died. You let go of Mitsuri with one hand, still clinging to her with the other, and reached to hold Iguro's hand.

When I said I didn't like you, I lied. I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! I hope you know that I cared for you, too! Mitsuri loved you so goddamn much! It's not fair! Please, let them be reborn in a safe world where they can get married! Neither of them deserve an end like this!

Your body shook and trembled. You cried so hard that when your cheeks dried they itched.

You got to your feet and stumbled Forward. Sanemi...! SANEMI WHERE ARE YOU?!

You saw a crowd of Kakushi around his body, which was bandaged tightly. You ran to him and fell at his body, shaking his arm violently. Your throat felt tight and sore, raw and broken.

One of the Kakushi pried you off. "STOP IT! YOU'LL HURT HIM!" You spin around and kicked him off, crawling back to Sanemi. Your clenched fists dug into themselves as you weakly beat against his chest.

As the empty, burning hatred inside of you retreated, you felt nothing but grief. Grief and cold. You felt cold. So, so cold. It was a familiar cold. Scarily familiar.

You lifted a shaky hand to look at it. You placed it on Sanemi's chest and bent over him, resting your forehead against his stomach.

Only one word ran through your head.

Lumamor. Lumamor. Lumamor.

You didn't realize you were crying for what felt like the thousandth time that night, until your body began to convulse. Sanemi, you have to live. You have to. If you don't... I'll kill you! I'll come for you in the after life and kill you myself! All over again! We have to add our word to the dictionary! I can't... I can't cope if you die. Your sides hurt from sobbing pathetically at him. For him.

"HEY! LOOK! HE'S REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS! SHINAZUGAWA IS AWAKE!"

You heard a pained groan. You sat up and beamed at Sanemi, who opened his eyes. A welcomed wave of relief washed over you like a tsunami. You smiled so hard your cheeks hurt. You couldn't laugh, but if you could you would have.

Sanemi chuckled and rested a hand against the back of your head. "I'm okay." He rasped. You furrowed your brow in anger. You are so not okay, dumbass! Look at yourself! You almost died!

He must've been able to tell what you were thinking, because he laughed. "Okay, okay. I'm not entirely okay, but I'm not dead." You smiled and kissed his head dozens of times.

The Kakushi around you pulled you away and pinned you to the ground. You struggled at first, but as soon as one of the men injected a sedative into your arm, you felt your body go limp. Your limbs went numb, and you only felt Sanemi squeeze your hand tightly before the world went dark.
